Beautiful, penniless American girl meets handsome, wealthy Scotsman.Sounds like the beginning of a fairy-tale romance? It’s not. This story begins with a contract. And an exchange of money.A lot of money. An angel perches nervously on one shoulder.A devil lounges smugly on my other. And even that dark little bastard is leery of what I’m doing.Maxwell Hutcheson wants the girlfriend experience. All of it. Hutcheson wants the girlfriend experience.
All of it.
And I’m going to give it to him.
I’m not supposed to enjoy being his whore.
I’m also not supposed to fall in love with him.
But I do. Both.
When our contract expires, I will walk away.
Because I have to.
But he’ll always have a piece of me.
I’ll mask my sorrow with a smile.
I’ll hide my love with indifference
… all while it’s killing me softly.
A fairy-tale romance.
It isn’t mine to have.
And this man I’ve come to love so dearly isn’t my happily ever after.
Eighty-One Nights is book one of two in a duet.
About Eighty-One Nights: While the characters from Eighty-One Nights are entirely new, their storyline is a combination of fresh material and carefully selected themes, scenes, and settings from The Beauty Series, The Sin Trilogy, Dear Agony, and Indulge. This is intentional. I chose some of my favorite elements from previous releases and interjected them into Hutch and Lou’s story. Let’s call it a “story fusion” between our old favorites and new material.

The story was good, but I just don’t like books that don’t end, but continue into ANOTHER book!
The story is great. Very believable characters. I was really in to it but it stopped and wanted you to buy another book. The entire story should be there. Now I’m not intrested in finishing.
I liked it well enough to buy the sequel
I liked the story and the development of the relationship but did not like that fact that it all stopped half way and I have to buy the next book in the two part series to read the rest of it. For goodness sake authors, tell the whole story within one book.
Couldn’t wait to read the sequel
Great story! UNFORTUNATELY! Cut off to make you buy the rest of the story.
It was written well enough for me to go buy the rest of the series
Part 1 of 2
Couldn’t stop reading
Really enjoyed this and looking forward to reading the rest.
Got such a great deal through Book Bub that I didn’t even blink when the story continued into the second book. Just pressed the button and lost myself in this story! Sexy, romantic with some suspenseful twists!! Love!
Continued in sequel
I enjoyed this book, I liked the characters and the story line.
3-3.5
It started similar to another book but was still good. Not sure if it was just me but didn’t connect that well with the characters.
I like Georgia Cates work so well that I purchased both books at the same time.
Hopefully book two improves a little.
Our Hero, Maxwell Hutcheson is a recent widower and new father, who works for his father-in-law. His marriage wasn’t what it seemed so he was longing for some companionship but needed to be discreet so it didn’t appear that he was moving on too quickly. His best friend introduces him to Inamorata, essentially a high end escort service. Our heroine, Caitriona, becomes an escort when her roommate tells her how she can make a lot of money. She takes on an alias, Lou, which happens to be a shortened version of her last name. On the surface, this arrangement is a win for both of them since Max, or Hutch, as Lou nicknames him, wants the girlfriend experience for the summer, and is willing to pay big bucks, which will help Caitriona pay for the remainder of her education. Neither of them was interested in a traditional relationship and this arrangement was a happy medium, until it wasn’t. Since this story is told from a dual point of view, we know both of them start to develop stronger feelings for the other, but don’t reveal that because of their arrangement. Meddling family members with ulterior motives and the expiration date to their arrangement create obstacles and threaten their HEA moment. This books ends on a cliffhanger since this is a two part story so I can’t wait to see what happens!
This is the first book I’ve read by this author so I faced no issues with comparing to her other books that had similar plot points or details. Can’t wait to see how this one ends!
Eighty-One Nights by Georgia Cates was a fabulous read.
I know that whenever I pick up a novel from Georgia that I am going to be in store for a treat. This novel was certainly a delectable treat.
First off, I loved that the story was a “story fusion!” When I first heard about this novel, and this idea, I was slightly skeptical. I thought “I’ve read this before, what is going to be different?” Well, I can definitely say everything was different. The major elements that I loved from Georgia’s previous novels, were featured front and centre in this novel, and I fell in love with it. The characters were so beautifully developed, that you feel as though you almost know them. They have this charisma and way about them, that make them so familiar, and yet, so completely different from any character you’ve read before. Combine the characters with the plot line filled with sin, desire, lust, passion, love as well as sympathy and empathy, and you have a novel that you will literally not be able to put down.
I cannot wait to see if Georgia does another “story fusion” again in the future. If she does, I will certainly be picking it up without any hesitation! This is a must read combination!
4/5 Stars!
Amazing…just amazing. This book drew me in from the second I read the first sentence. Eight-one nights is beautiful, sweet, and hot but the passion between Maxwell aka Hutch and Catriona aka Lou is on fire! But it is heart-wrenching as well pulling me in until I was consumed by it…as if I was right there standing there as a witness first hand.
Maxwell wants the girlfriend experience, something that he never had with his wife and Cait needs money to finish university. They meet at an agency that matches people for mutual benefit…Maxwell is brought there by his friend and Cait by her friend who is already involved in the agency and knows that Cait needs the money. Maxwell and Cait meet and sparks fly from there…taking both of them by surprise.
The contract between them is for 81 nights, but when their time is done, will one or the other actually admit their feelings or will they walk away…
I was so taken by this heart-wrenching book that I had tears when I read the last page…a must read….especially since there will be Beautiful Ever After (Beautiful Illusions Duet Book Two)
Five fairy stars! This is not a simple book. This is a journey you won’t forget in a long time.
Oh my sweet Lord! What a sweet, perfect and heart-breaking modern fairy-tale I read! Eighty-One Nights by Georgia Cates is a beautiful illusion packed with all the feels that make readers swoon! The story told in this book blossoms like a petite rose bud. It is devastatingly delicious and enchanting with raw touches of steam and romance. This book is a diamond that shines beautifully with the intensity of sizzling passion and overwhelming attraction.
The pace is fast and the plot is unique and it unfolds smoothly and fluently. Each chapter is a breath of fresh air. The characters are complex and real. They add intensity and beauty to the story that made my heart skip a beat (or more). All about this book is flawless and captivating. Georgia Cates is a great story teller! I can’t believe this is the first time I read her books however it won’t be the last time. Her writing is beautiful and pretty haunting.
There is something special about this book that draws you in and makes you want to devour it whole. Eighty-One Nights is an enchanting masterpiece that will make readers ache for more. The story is WONDERFUL and when you start it, you won’t be able to put it down. It is filled with romance, pain, lost, attraction, hope and lust. There are many emotions involved plus the push and pull between the main characters and the BIG cliff-hanger that will make you scream and throw your kindle like I did.
What started as an “arrangement” of three months will turn into something more consuming and heart-breaking. Something deep and emotional. Something tempting and forbidden. Something unique and enticing. The story of Cait (Lou) and Maxwell (Hutch) is beyond unconventional, beyond passionate and beyond sensational. I was mesmerized.
Cait is overwhelmed by debts and responsibility. She is an American student in Scotland working as a waitress since her father stop his support for her college education. She is struggling with not having enough money to keep paying her college however her best friend gave her the solution to her problems introducing her to an exclusive escort agency. She is full of apprehension by accepting to be an Inamorata. Her life will totally change when she accept her first contract to a recently widowed man.
Maxwell has a messed up past that made him lose a lot. After losing his wife his life was filled with loneliness. He needs excitement and new experiences to help him to forget. When he went to the meet and greet of Inamorata and he felt a strong connection with Cait. In a full room of beautiful women, she attracted him and he will do anything to have her accept his arrangement. Maxwell will move mountains and rivers to have her and explore the connection between them. He will pay her handsomely to have the full “girlfriend experience”.
The pull and push between those two are deliciously tempting. Despite the contract that will link them for only three months, the boundaries set by Cait and Maxwell will be loosen up quite a bit making this arrangement a blurry and beautiful mess because when feelings grow up, everything turns into something more.
Maxwell is a sexy, dirty talking alpha male. He is intense and passionate and his Scottish accent is panty-melting and drool-worthy. He is what I consider a sexy book boyfriend specimen.
This is not a simple book. This is a journey I won’t forget in a long time because that end is haunting me and like a masochist I can’t wait to read the conclusion of this fantastic duet.
Say that you needed money for college. To gain the career that you have always wanted. However, your parents cut you off and you couldn’t afford tuition. What would you do to ensure you received the best education possible? Would you give up? Or perhaps take a chance on life and enter a world that you had never entered before? Your life is not in danger and it comes with the utmost respect and adoration. Would you jump at the chance? I guess you could only know, if you were faced with such a situation.
Georgia Cates gives us a world of possibilities. A tale of what-ifs. A tale of limitless possibilities and the chance at love. Eighty-One Nights is a story unlike any other. A story that makes us giggle and wonder what it would be like to live the life of Lou and be loved and adored by Hutch. This is one of my favorite contemporary romances of 2019. Pick up a copy and make it your top read of the year!
I was really keen to read this one as I was thoroughly intrigued with how the author would handle combining the tropes from The Beauty Series, The Sin Trilogy, Dear Agony, and Indulge. I’m going to be completely honest and say overall I enjoyed this book though it took me a while to really engage with the story and the characters. There were elements I liked but there were also parts that didn’t work for me. The story had potential but the characters’ connection never really felt based on believable chemistry, and neither character felt fully fleshed out.
Caitriona Louden, “Lou”, has learned at a very young age how to fend for herself. Her family has cut her off and she needs money to pay for her college tuition. Maxwell Hutcheson is a wealthy widower who wants the fake girlfriend experience. He is nursing a battered heart and there will be no pretense between him and Lou. Their relationship is based on honesty, known expectations and a binding contract. And yet, Max wants more than a paid companion, he wants to pursue an emotional and physical connection with Lou. And that’s where emotions are brought into the mix. Max challenges Lou, but she is not willing to open her heart to a man who might break it.
I love this author and really wanted to love this one too, but, so far, I’ve struggled with the lack of characters’ depth. I never got the sense of a deep emotional connection between them. I hope there will be more focus on the development of Max and Caitriona’s romance in the second part of their story.
