“This is a great fast-paced adventure that I recommend as an entertaining read in the vein of Rollins and Cussler, and checks off all the boxes of things I enjoy and expect in such novels- adventure in exotic parts of the world, ancient artifacts and lost civilizations, danger in many forms, from a hostile environment to evil mercenaries with guns.”

“If you’re a fan of folks like James Rollins or Matthew Reilly, this book is for you!… I refuse to spoil the nature of our beasties – and there’s more to them at first glance than things that want to chomp you – but they are awesome!… I expect to read Mortensen in the future. I also expect to be paying big bucks for his books as he rides alongside James Rollins and Matthew Reilly in success. A very good read!”

“On several occasions when I thought he had run out of options to keep the action going, the author would manage to do so. In fact there were no lulls in the action and by the end of the story I had become accustomed to the pace. I would easily recommend this for anyone craving action and excitement in a great read.”

“I decided to start with a quick few pages while waiting for a meeting and then was 20 mins late because I forgot to look up.. I drifted through the meeting wondering what could happen to the young girl in the book on her journey and just where the storyline could or would be going! I then decided I needed to have a rare afternoon off just to get to the end of the book, just to see if the writer could keep this going at the pace that the book started with, but, every time I thought I could slow down for a break, something else happened in the wild twists and turns to pin me right back in my seat. I must admit in all humility, that I now have a new phobia and the storyline scared the (Beep) out of me more than once!. The writing was brilliant and easy to follow, didn’t overpower me with too much detail, just enough to understand the situation and flowed so smoothly from one situation to another with surprises around every bush, that I didn’t even realize I had finished. Wow good writer and great style. Thank you.”

While this book was action packed and moved along at a quick pace, I found it to be about 100 pages TOO long. It seemed the author did not want to end the book and kept dragging it out.
Definitely a page turner that keeps you from putting it down!
Full of twists and turns very enjoyable
Very action packed
Creepy! Loved it. Some parts were a little too believable, but all round it’s worth reading.
long book, would make a great movie. equal to Jurassic Park.
Enjoyed reading Eight.
This book was long enough that I wasn’t through before getting started good!
Scary, suspenseful and downright creepy at times.
I am scared to death of spiders and some the size of dogs , messed up my sleep.
Too much heavy profanity
the story and characters had great development the suspense is well done and the climactic ending was hardly predictable.
That said, the ending, without giving anything away is too far out there. It reads like a Raiders of the Lost Ark times 10. The dangers and near escapes compounded over and over are just too much after a while. It stretches the boundaries of the preposterous.
It was exhausting just reading the final 5 short chapters to its conclusion.
Love love love this book!
This one you have to read to end just when you thought you’ve figured it out your wrong. Starts out strong then throws you a little curve. Now your hooked can’t put it down definitely different
Too long! Storyline was drawn out way too much. Before I finished I was more than ready to skip a couple of chapters to get to the end. The story was interesting and more than a few surprises thrown in. Ending was weak. Not interested in the next expedition starting out. Once was enough
Tata is great
Stayed with it although I wasn’t sure to start. Entertaining story with a believable main character. Easy to read and kept my interest.
Good, scary, crazy book. Read it.
Good read, lots of excitement and scary creatures
Lot of action from the start. Good characters. Hard to put down
Very good book “Robin Cook” scenario. Great fast paced reading! Scary monsters.
Talk about a real twisted bunch of characters. The plot seems to be straightforward for about 20 minutes and everything goes down the rabbit hole.
Thought we were looking for a new spieces of bugs…..
Hell no! Why do we need too archieologists and a guy looking for an ancient city?
At every turn I kept thinking WTS, and decided to trash the book…..
Only to pick it up….this one I was gonna kill me. Damned near did…
You want a lot of action and weird plot twists, go ahead I dare yah.
