What a poignant love story! Ed and Claire are both recovering from loss. Ed is a young widower with a daughter and doesn’t believe he’ll ever recover from losing his beloved wife. But when he’s set up on a blind date, he’s blindsided (see what I did there) by Claire. She’s totally different than anyone he’s ever met.––in a good way. The chemistry and connection between these two is instant and hot, hot, hot!
Claire is starting fresh after escaping a horrific ex-husband and doesn’t know if she is up for dating again. Well-meaning co-workers insist on setting her up on a blind date and Ed doesn’t disappoint. Complications and hijinks ensue, but Ed and Claire find their happily ever after and it’s a satisfying and sweet ride! Loved fresh, realistic romance. Highly recommend.
Wow I enjoyed this book. The characters are well developed and engaging with undeniable chemistry between the couple which made for a storyline that kept me turning the pages. The author definitely gave us a storyline I could get caught in.

This author builds wonderful likeable character! Ed lost his wife Laura whom he believed to be the love of his life three years ago. He has been living in emotional limbo since. Kayleigh, his 10 year old daughter is his anchor. Claire, divorced jerk Dennis and finally got her new start on the cape. She went on a blind date at the behest of her new friends to enhance her social life and escape the rut of work then house renovation, expecting not much. She got Ed, who she thought was a good catch, until she realized he was the father of Kayleigh who had a bit of an imagination. Kayleigh, the matchmaker? Can Ed and Claire get on the right page? Is Kayleigh looking for a Mom? Can Ed embrace a love life? Beautifully told. Some fun times. Nice and smexy! Can’t wait for new stories. This author really puts a story together with awesome supporting characters/ Absolutely enjoyable, nicely done. I received an ARC from Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Nice cover art!

Immensely Readable Escape
I love romance novels. I read a lot of them. What I love is when an author can take a popular trope, make it new and her own. Katie O’Sullivan does this.
Ed is a strong and stoic widower. After three years he’s finally given himself permission to begin dating after the loss of his high school sweetheart wife from a long illness.
Enter Claire, who’s new to the town of Chatham, Cape Cod. Claire’s a teacher, newly divorced from a controlling ex and figuring out next steps while living in her grandma’s dilapidated cottage on a scenic kettle pond.
I won’t give away any spoilers, except, be warned, folks, this story is steamy.
All I will say is I was happy to be back on Cape and surrounded by the McDonald clan. I couldn’t stop turning the pages till I enjoyed the well-deserved happily ever after.
The story line was good, the character work was great, and the book had a smooth flow to it. This was a quick, fun read that was a great addition to the series.

Once again Katie O’Sullivan has made me lose an entire day of work—because I was reading her newest book and didn’t want to put it down!
The Ed in Ed’s Blind date Dilemma is local detective Ed MacDonald, a widower and the father of a precocious 11 year old. Ed lost his wife three years ago and hasn’t given a thought to dating anyone else. But…even though he’s already had his happily ever after and he’s not looking for another, it would be nice to have some female companionship other than his daughter and his mother every once in a while.
Enter recently divorced Clair Masters, who isn’t looking for anything in the romance department either. But…it would be nice to be taken to dinner and fussed over every once in a while, especially since her ex was such a creep.
When these two agree to be set up on a blind date both are nervous and neither has any expectations that the date is going to be good.
But, in the way of romance books, it’s a spectacular date.
And there in lies the problem. You see, Ed doesn’t tell her his mother is Clair’s boss nor that he has a pre-teen daughter who also happens to be her student ( only he doesn’t know that.)
After a week spent together, a series of events unfolds that puts a wedge between the two of them and a misunderstanding almost drives them apart for good.
Can either of them forgive the other?
I’ll let you read about that, but just know this: once you start reading, you may – just like I was – be unable to put the book down until you know how it ends.
Katie O’Sullivan never disappoints – you can take that to to the bank.
