Return to the Collective Unconscious, this time with Listerine-chugging stoners, Hollyweirdos, commie-alien-kung fu robots, one space gorilla-unicorn, and an exceedingly lovesick Vladimir Putin.

This book is brilliantly written with hilarious scenes, witty comical banter, intriguing wordplay, clever pop cultural references, slick celebrity name drop allusions, keen sarcasm among characters, sharp writing, and a quirky storyline that brings it all together!
Edger is at it again! Still the same dorky guy as last time and he’s back again to save the world! This book is also returning with the same piercing, slapstick humor that practically has you rolling on the floor laughing with every turning page!!!
This book’s humor is anything but subtle – it basically sucker punches you in the face, then dumps a tub of molasses on you and tosses a bucket of feathers on top. Nothing discrete here lol!
There is no reading between the lines to follow and understand these humorous scenes! The author did a great job at allowing the reader to easily identify, consume, and enjoy the comical and satire lines.
However, there are some passages that the author wrote in a more clever and cunning stance that may at times be difficult to decipher the exact meaning of the message that the author truly intended, but not overwhelmingly hard to identify at least one meaning. Plus, that’s what is fun about these books, you can read them multiple times and come away with a whole difficult take-away each time!
This book is also full of entertaining kick-butt and take some names kind of action! Some of those particular scenes were quite amusing but also so vividly detailed and well-written that it made these scenes easy to picture. And without any spoilers, I think that was such an important part of the book since the action scenes are unique and with the author being able to provide so much detail and definition it was almost like I was watching the scenes play as a movie in my head!
This book has a great storyline that flows, terrific writing style with detailed scenes, is fast paced, and keeps you completely entertained through the last page.
There are so many elements and layers to this book! However, they all find a way to beautifully come together in the end.
This book is Book Two of the Edger Book Series. I had not read the first book before reading this book and unfortunately, I wish I had. There are so many references to the previous book and the characters significantly overlap. It could technically be read on its own as a standalone. I wasn’t completely confused or lost. I just felt out of the loop and that I was missing lots of important information about the characters and how they got to the point at where they are when book two starts. So, I personally would recommend reading book one, before you start book two. Especially since the author mentions that book three is just around the corner!
If you enjoy geeking out with like-minded dorks and rooting for the underdog superhero while enjoying some mind-blowing LOL coma’s then this book is truly for you!
All in all, I really enjoyed reading this book and would absolutely recommend it! I think all comedy, action, adventure readers will like this book too! So, add it to your TBR List and get to reading – you won’t be disappointed!
Please note that this book is strongly rated 18+ as it contains adult situations, adult language, etc.

I want to point out right at the beginning that this is not a stand-alone and Book 1 should be read first which I am sorry to say I did not do. I did read several reviews about Book 1 which I might add were glowing, and many of the statements there helped get my head straight and keep the story flowing. One person used the word “quirky” in their description of Book 1 and I think it may be the perfect word for this book too, only I’ll add cute and quirky.
This book is obviously written by a very intelligent person, at times maybe more so than myself. Were some of the innuendos and jokes over my head? I’m not sure and that probably validates the previous sentence. This book is full of witticisms, irreverent comments, satirical undertones, laugh out loud statements, and well…you name it. There are some of the nuttiest names you have ever heard for people, places and things. You’d have to be intelligent to even come up with some of the names in this book. Either intelligent and very creative or well…I’ll let you fill in your own word. But then again, that’s the fun of this book.
How do you write a spy novel filled with items more futuristic than James Bond movies ever had and yet have a sweet but bumbling superhero and a little romance included? I’m not sure but it worked for author David Beem this time, and it sure seems to have worked in Book 1. So, Mr. Beem? When will Book 3 be out?
