Ken Follett’s extraordinary historical epic, the Century Trilogy, reaches its sweeping, passionate conclusion. In Fall of Giants and Winter of the World, Ken Follett followed the fortunes of five international families—American, German, Russian, English, and Welsh—as they made their way through the twentieth century. Now they come to one of the most tumultuous eras of all: the 1960s through the … of all: the 1960s through the 1980s, from civil rights, assassinations, mass political movements, and Vietnam to the Berlin Wall, the Cuban Missile Crisis, presidential impeachment, revolution—and rock and roll.
East German teacher Rebecca Hoffmann discovers she’s been spied on by the Stasi for years and commits an impulsive act that will affect her family for the rest of their lives. . . . George Jakes, the child of a mixed-race couple, bypasses a corporate law career to join Robert F. Kennedy’s Justice Department and finds himself in the middle of not only the seminal events of the civil rights battle but a much more personal battle of his own. . . . Cameron Dewar, the grandson of a senator, jumps at the chance to do some official and unofficial espionage for a cause he believes in, only to discover that the world is a much more dangerous place than he’d imagined. . . . Dimka Dvorkin, a young aide to Nikita Khrushchev, becomes an agent both for good and for ill as the United States and the Soviet Union race to the brink of nuclear war, while his twin sister, Tanya, carves out a role that will take her from Moscow to Cuba to Prague to Warsaw—and into history.

Excellent read. Wonderful character, plot, and setting development. He really sucks you in to the story.
Insightful into real lives happening in the real world of history.
Having lived through this time frame, I was surprised by Follett’s lack of research on America life at this point in time. His british is way too prevalent in this book.
Master of historical fiction.
I loved this book. Ken Follet is an excellent writer and the book was
one of the most interesting I have read in a long time
Have read both trilogies and thoroughly enjoyed them both. Would love for the author to write additional books for both trilogies. He is a wonderful story teller, author and so interesting to read.
This book is the third in a trilogy that started at the turn of the century and ends when Barrack Obama becomes president. The historical aspects of the book give eye opening insights into the feelings and emotions of the people living through those times.
You can never go wrong with Follett. A nail biter during war time.
As always another masterpiece from Ken Follet. Supper !
It was slow to get into but then became mesmerizing. A great read,
I enjoyed the whole trilogy. Good read if you are willing to put in the time to read it.
This book is the third volume of Ken Follett’s Century Trilogy. I read all three books and liked them a lot. I already knew a lot about events in the US and England, so I especially liked the parts where events were seen from the perspective of the families in Germany and Russia. The trilogy was a long but absorbing read.
A poor finish to a teriffic series
Worth the long, long read. The history encapsulated with the really interesting characters in the story certainly holds your interest.
wonderful story –
I was in grade school during this time and oblivious to what was going on in the U.S. This was a wonderful historical fiction.
This book is a must for anyone who lived through the 60’s and 70’s! It brings back so many memories of these decades. It is told through the eyes of both side of the conflicts. A must read.
Boring, run on…..
Another great novel from Ken Follett. Hard to put down before you finish reading the book.
You can always count on Mr. Follett for greatness. He is the best, always!!!!
