When first read about Yuma, when introduced in the previous books, I really couldn´t like him…at all. And I was kind of disappointed when saw his was the next Story in this series….
But OMG…..I´m So in love with him! Freya, you did amazing, again!
Yuma and Lissie are simply perfect for each other. They are so human, so not perfect, so us! Love strong characters, people just like us, who struggles to be their best.
Love the way Freya writes about the MC and their sense of family. Love that we can revisit old friends from previous books! Simply a great book!!! A must read!
I’m loving this Arrow’s Edge series! This book features biker and Sergeant At Arms (in name only) for the MC James ‘Yuma’ Wells and Detective Elizabeth ‘Lissie’ Bucco. Yuma is managing the club’s apartment building and helps Lissie move in. He was instantly attracted to the new detective but felt he wasn’t good enough. He had finally admitted he was an alcoholic and went to rehab. He was having a hard time resisting the urge to drink and went to a meeting. To his shock he found his sexy curvy neighbor there. Kiss had hidden her addiction at home while trying to be the best detective she could be. A bad case of murder turns up more buried victims and puts Lissie in danger. Yuma has problems of his own when his moth gets worse and has to be placed in a nursing home. He and his father have their own problems stemming from his childhood to work out…or not. This book has action, suspense, nail biting edge of your seat moments, a pompous father and two brothers, cute kids, the club, a father and son struggling with what life has thrown at them, the police department and FBI, a new tough female coroner, some bad mcs, a missing friend, some hot steamy scenes and and two people standing in the edge of darkness finding the light in each other.
We are previously introduced to Yuma in Edge of Reason, he doesn’t across well and in this book we find out why. Yuma and Lissie meet, and at first impression neither are impressed with the other. Yuma is trying to get his life together and seems constantly totally at odds with himself and out of control. Lissie is making a life for herself away from her family and is a straight laced cop. These characters are deeply flawed, and you many not like them much initially BUT their paths keep crossing – a chance meeting gives them some common ground. Suddenly you feel for them and they grow on you the reader as well as each other!! As always Freya’s books are complex, full of family, intrigue, surprises, their journey is a bumpy ride but oh so worth it.
Thoroughly recommend this series….and please read them in order to get the full benefits.
As a woman living a sober life this was an emotional read for me. Freya has such a great way with words and brings her characters to life with all of their flaws, shortcomings, and awesomeness out there for all to see. Yuma and Lissie were a great couple, so strong and yet vulnerable at the same time.
‘Edge of Darkness’ is Lissie and Yuma’s story and what an amazing story it is. Lissie is a newly located police detective and Yuma manages the the Arrow’s Edge MC’s apartment complex where Lissie now lives. Yuma is attracted to Lissie immediately but being a freshly recovering alcoholic only out of rehab for about four months, he chooses to admire her from afar. Lissie is finding her way after leaving her old job and family under difficult circumstances. She had been clean and sober for about a year and is working hard on her new job when a grouping of bodies is found at a town construction site. The story progresses with lots of intrigue and mystery as the plot unfolds and suspects and motives are uncovered and investigated. Lissie and Yuma grow close and find support in each other as they tackle the pressure of their lives. I loved watching their relationship grow and overcome life’s hardships. This book had everything I look for in a great story and I will be immediately reading the next in the series.
He was a biker in a motorcycle club she was a detective their edge of darkness was the same alcohol she rents one of the apartments in the building he owns he is her landlord his mom is having problems with her memory she passes on the detective is working on a case but they open up to one another really well they have sizzling romance she has an overbearing family but he deals with it she hands in her resignation because she is expecting he asks her to marry him wonderful happy ending
Edge Of Darkness by Freya Barker is the second book in her Arrow’s Edge MC series.
This is Yuma and Lissie’s story so be prepared to go through the darkness of their lives and find the rainbow at the end for their HEA. I would highly suggest reading the first book though because it picks right up after Trunk and Tahlula’s story ends with the rival Moab Reds MC as well as the ANL is still part of the story. I’ve had family members who were alcoholic so I can relate to the recovery process that it takes to get where Yuma and Lissie and how hard it is to stay sober. But I really love Lisa, Kiara and Ezrah so I look forward in reading their story next.
Lissie Bucco is the new detective in Durango who is jumping in feet first into the Moab Red’s, ANL helping to figure out who is helping them take the children and find whose is financing the group. But when bodies start showing up at a construction site she’ll soon find out that Arrow’s Edge will be involved also. But there’s a connection to her childhood friend Dani also that has brought her to Durango. But someone will soon be out to kill her and Yuma will do what ever it takes to keep Lissie safe.
Yuma is the only Edge born into the club and as the son of the founders Nosh and Momma but he’s also in recovering alcoholic so he knows how Lissie struggles. But when he takes over as manager of the club’s Riverside apartments he’ll soon realize that keeping her safe will be a priority. Can they both leave their past behind to find a future with each other? There will be sadness within the club as well as a new beginning for several members I can’t wait to read the next book.
Once again Freya makes me love her characters, Yuma and Lisse are both so broken but striving to live and be better, their broken pieces fit together beautifully, the topic in this one is addiction and what happens to get better and past what you can and these two fight it together and made my heart fall hard and fast
Yuma is your brooding biker to a T. Born and raised in the club he has a lot of problems he’s trying to overcome.
Good Lord. I think my ovaries just spontaneously spit out some eggs. The big rugged man holding that cute little girl, like she’s made of glass. Why are men with kids so freaking sexy?
Lissie is a cop. She moved to Durango to find out what happened to her friend. She moves into his building and nature takes its over.
“Life isn’t perfect, James Wells.” His nostrils flare and he takes a step closer when I use the name he was born with. “But to have you dismiss what’s happening between us as fantasy, when it’s the most agonizingly beautiful reality I’ve ever known, is inexcusable.”
My heart broke reading this book. Still finding lost boys w/out mothers even in this book. Yuma has had a hard time and turned to alcohol and other things. It was hard on him when his mamma got shot and his dad took it hard. Lissa is from a family of cops who don’t take her side when something happens in her home town and she ups and leaves for Durango. She’s following leads of her missing friend, when she gets a little too close and gets in trouble herself. A great read. Danger, murder, sadness, heat and HEA.
This is the second book of the Arrow’s Edge Series. Its the story of Yuma and Lissie and let me tell ya you talking about opposites attracted these 2 definitely do but the chemistry between them is amazing. I couldnt put it down. I love it!! I couldnt put this one down. If your looking for a page turner, a book that keeps u on the edge of your sest this book is for you. Freya hasnt let me down yet. Can’t wait to see what she has planned for the next book in the series.
Let me start by saying I had reservations about Yuma, but what a fool I was. I should always trust this author to steer me well. Lissie and Yuma have so much chemistry, the push and pull of the romance along with tension had me cheering these two on. I felt every single emotion with them and at times tears were rolling down my face. NO spoilers but omg get the tissues out. With her flair for suspense and the realness of these characters it was easy to fall in love with them. I can’t recommend Freya Barker’s books enough. She is the Queen.
Yuma and Lissie are two injured souls that sought solace in the bottle. Now they are both sober and are an unlikely pair but are still a better match together. Yuma is part of biker club owns the property Lissie renting. Lissie is a cop working hard while she’s trying to also find her friend she hasn’t heard from. Things heat up between her and Yuma as her case takes a turn she never saw coming. Family matters between Yuma’s side and Lissie’s complicate things somewhat between them. When Lissie’s case ends up involving her too much she ends up in trouble at work. Will she end up losing her job? Will she find out what happened to her friend? Can her and Yuma get their chance at happiness?
This is an amazing story once I started this I did not move from my chair until I was done. This will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

How can I not give this book 5 stars? It’s Freya Barker. Even though I am a die hard Freya fan, this book is intense, and doesn’t sugar things up. It’s two characters trying to do the best they know how while being loyal to those around you. Finding someone who believes in you and is willing to ride the wild ride with you. Someone who is willing to look past your past and see the person you are now. This is what makes an amazing Freya Barker book. Yuma and Lissie’s story will have you wondering what is going to come next from Arrow’s Edge MC. I assure you, you won’t want to miss it! Keep ’em coming Freya! I’m ready for more!
This is another great story by a great writer. It is the second in this series and a spin off from another series but is a stand alone story. Yuma and Lissie are characters that feel real to you. It was wonderful reading their struggles and how even though they are ‘opposites’ they belong together. Always a pleasure to read these stories and am looking forward to more. Don’t miss out and one click this book.

I was getting to the point where I was ready to give up on contemporary romances, so over the contrived angst of immature people who won’t communicate with one another. Then I found this author. She writes extraordinary stories about adults who find their way to each other through trust and honesty. It’s not always easy but they are always wonderful stories full of suspense and action.
Yuma and Lissie’s story in Edge of Darkness is the perfect blend for a total escape.
Finding Freya Barker has been like winning the lottery for me and Edge of Darkness is just another one of her stories to be added to my pile of favorites from her.
Lissie moved to a new town for her new job but was also looking for her childhood friend, Dani. So she started at the local motorcycle club because one of the last photos she had of Dani was with her on a motorcycle and this would be as good a place as any. There she met Yuma and he offered to rent her a flat in the building he managed. There was an instant attraction between them, but eith both of them recovering they knew better than to give in to temptation. But they could not ignore it and before long there was real feelings. But with Lissie trying to proof herself in her new job as well as looking form her friend and Yuma feeling like a failure and most days hanging on by a thread, will they be good for each other or will this destroy them? This is a story about getting up after you’ve hit rock bottom, about trusting someone enough to be honest about your past despite the ugliness of it and about forgiveness. Learning your own worth is such an important part of who we are and that gives us a reason to move forward, for ourselves as well as for those you love. If you like a bit of action mixed in with a good love story this is the book for you.

Edge Of Darkness is the second book in the Arrow’s Edge MC series and is a wonderful story of two people coming together against the odds.
Yuma and Lissie are realistic characters who are well developed and interesting. The storyline is one that kept me engaged from start to finish. The author has given us a delightful story with a touch of humour, danger, suspense, intrigue, and a breathtaking romance.
I loved this book and cannot wait for the next one in the series!

This book 2 in the Arrow’s Edge MC Series touches on a lot of subjects while addressing whether or not this couple has common ground. It is a very well-rounded and written book that I cannot wait to read the next in the series. It is the next in Arrow’s Edge MC with really great characters that are strong and very well-crafted.

I love this new “Arrow’s Edge MC”.story from Freya Barker!! It’s a truly opposites attract between Yuma and Lissie. Arrow’s Edge MC is a group that have formed a legal MC for brotherhood and family. This story definitely sucks you and keeps you hooked until the very end. It’s well written and very nicely developed. I love the characters and the way their story evolved. This story has mystery, suspense and heartwarming with some good twists. I loved everything about this story. It’s about accepting the past, finding redemption and moving on with life.
