KV ROSE is a must read
I’ve been trying to read everything KV Rose has out because I’m a tad obsessed. I can’t get enough of it. Poor Zara. She admits she had a decent home life so why be an addict? An addiction to dependency on men is her biggest problem. She thinks that drugs make her fun. But Alex doesn’t want her to feel like that. He has his own problems that she can’t deal with and that makes the room clear for Eli.
As much as he shows he is the perfect guy on campus, he hides the most powerful addiction. It has the ability to cause destruction. It’s thrilling to him.
Who will get out from under the addiction they each harbor…and will it stop the destruction.
“Then let me hurt you. Just a little.”
Well this book was something else. Dark, twisted and gripping.
This was definately a rollercoaster of a ride, seeing each character either battle or embrace their demons was thrilling. Alex, Zara and Eli were definatley tortured souls in many ways, and I felt that the aspects of mental health and addiction were written amazingly.
“But I see everything you could be. Everything you already are, even if you don’t know it yet. I see more than what you want people to see, Zara. I see past your bullshit, and that’s what I want. What you really are.”
This book has A LOT of triggers, so please don’t go in lightly. There were some serious WTF moments!
There are plenty of authors that can write hot taboo stories however, only KV Rose writes romances hot enough to make the devil blush. Rose definitely brought her A-Game with Ecstasy, Zara, Alex, and Eli are absolutely everything that I never know was missing from my life. Reading Ecstasy was bittersweet for me. I could not wait to finish the book and find out how these wonderfully flawed characters’ stories would end and then being devastated when the book was over and I too had Ecstasy withdrawals. If you have never read KV Rose before and you are in the mood for something different, dark, and delicious, then you should definitely read this book. If you like this book a fraction as much as I did, you will probably want to devour everything word that Rose has ever written because you too will discover that her words are your new addiction.
I wish I could give this amazing book more than 5 stars just for how it literally sucked me in from page 1 to the last page I was turning pages I couldn’t read it fast enough I even took it to work ssshhh what they don’t know lol. I love this arthurs way of telling a story it’s so enthralling that you end up with a book hangover.
HOLY CRAP!!!
This book blew my mind!!! KV Rose definitely knows how to read one hell of a jaw dropping book!
This is no ordinary love triangle story. It is totally f*cked up in more way than one!
This book will no joke tear you to shreds! You will feel every single emotion imaginable and once you are finished, get ready for a killer book hangover!
I am a HUGE fan of KV Rose so I love her style or writing and messed up characters and storylines.
Ecstasy is such an addicting book. Once I started, I could not put it down! Although at one point it was all way too much and I had to take a 5 minute breather to get myself together!
It is dark, a little twisted, a little forbidden, triggering and freaking steamy!
I’m honestly not going to go in to the storyline because I do not want to give ANYTHING away but the twists and turns, holy crap! You do not see them coming!!!!
The characters all dealing with their own demons and let’s face it, all psychotic in their own way.
Such a good book!!!!! Highly recommend!!!!
I have never connected with a book like I did with this one. I am speechless. I felt every single word. It’s like I was in the story with them. It’s dark, and bad things happen. BUT…it was worth all the pain that I felt.
It’s one of those books I can read over and over again. By far my absolute favorite I have ever read! KV Rose is an author like no other. I obsess over her books, and Ecstasy is no exception!
My stomach was in knots. I couldn’t stop reading. I couldn’t read fast enough. Then once I reached the last page, I started it over again.
There aren’t enough stars for me to rate this book the way I want. So, 5 stars it will be!
Insane.
That’s the word that comes to mind when I think of this book.
Heavy drug use, violence, murder, hot sex, and self sabatoge, this book has all the crazy shit you could ask for!
This book is NOT for everyone.
The characters are all batshit, so don’t look for a rational one in the bunch. You won’t find them. They’re also pretty unlikable.
Their relationships are toxic. Even if you normally enjoy that type of thing, you may still find yourself wanting to smack the fuck out of all of them. The ending is more bitter sweet-ish than happy, and you’ll probably either love it or hate it.
That being said, it’s also wild, intriguing, captivating, dark, and steamy af! It’s like a roller coaster and a train wreck all in one! I could not put it down or look away, and my emotions were all over the place!
If you’re feeling brave, and you’re looking for something dark and different, this one’s for you!
As seniors at university, the paths of Zara Henderson, Alex Cardi and Eli Addison cross in a unique and irrevocable way. Zara is on a collision course due to her substance abuse, Alex is the star quarterback with anger issues and Eli is the quiet contemplative one. With their focus on Zara, she is caught in the middle of a dangerous game without rules.
“Something bad is happening to me, I want to tell him. I’m the bad thing. Happening to my fucking self.”
In starting this book, I expected combustible scenes, drama and some mind fuckery and it delivered in all. Though there were times when I wanted to strangle Zara, I was equally intrigued to see what she would do next. As for Alex and Eli, I liked both of them for different reasons. By a certain point, I was hoping the plot would take a particular turn and it did spiral.
For those looking to read a story with angst, steam and some crazy in the mix Ecstasy will deliver.
If Dark Romance is your thing, K.V. Rose is your best bet…though, you have a fight in your hands to get to the romance part! Her stories don’t disappoint and her characters take a part of your soul. They imbed themselves so deep inside you, there is no way to escape them. You can’t help but love their messed up, psycho ways. They may not all be psychos, but they will stalk your mind as if they were. But love them, you will!
In this story, the love-triangle is made of chains that is so entangled a blacksmith might be needed!
Za, Alex, and Eli…these three are one hot, unpredictable mess. There was a HEA, but this would not be a K.V. Rose story without a tragedy to burn your soul. One messed up journey with so many possible paths. It’s hard to pinpoint which way these characters want their story to go.
Settle down and grab your blanket and drink..or two. You won’t want to put this down!
I wish I would have read this book earlier because I already posted all my top books of 2020, but this one falls in that category as well.
A love triangle that certainly doesn’t end well for one….or all of them.
Zara has an addiction even though she doesn’t want to admit it, she feels like her only escape is taking these substances and when she’s sober she feels down and her insecurities kick in. She’s always had daddy issues and she feels like no one loves her, the only time she feels loved is when she’s on something.
Alex has anger issues, he can’t control himself when he’s angry and tends to do things to hurt people, especially those that are close to him, like Zara.
Eli was like a psychopath, when he sets his sight on something he likes, he becomes obsessive and will do whatever it takes to get what he wants even if it’s with lies, deceit and hurting those he’s closest to.
A story with web of lies that took a lot to unravel. The truth always comes out no matter what and there is always a bad guy in a story like this one.
All three characters were unique, all had different kinds of issues and they either learned to control themselves and did something about changing their lives or preferred to just keep being evil.
KV Rose did an amazing job with Ecstasy and my eyes were glued to my kindle until I finished it.
“Something bad is happening to me, I want to tell him.
I’m the bad thing.
Happening to my fucking self.”
I. I cannot. I’m speechless and now thrown back into my teenage self after reading this.
This was a huge wild anxiety-pumping ride.
The entire book had me on edge. You know when your heart is pumping and you’re fucking sweating and anxious. Because you’re waiting for the ball to drop. You’re waiting for the highest part of the roller-coaster to go BOOM. Plummet and crash.
That’s what happens. You read these young, chaotic-characters plummet and crash.
What I absolutely loved about this book more than anything was that it was relatable for me personally. I was an absolute wild and reckless child back in my teens and I could relate to each and every character in the story. Not to the extreme that these characters are dealing with, but I was that person in a way.
“ I want to know what it feels like to drown. I want to know what it feels like to feel nothing at all. “
The way that this author can describe the feelings of specific drugs and specific emotions (or the lack of) when in the drug-induced haze is so dead on. This is what I love about KV Rose.
We have three characters here. Alex and Eli. And Zara. They all have done bad things. They all have demons. Some let out to play. The other keeps them at bay for a bit.
You want to party with and slap Zara at the same time. You can’t figure out who you hate more between the guys. You just don’t understand shit till personalities shine.
I’m not someone that constantly says you have to go into books blind. Because I honestly hate when people tell me that. And I think it took me a long time to read this book because reading about young college students getting fucked up on drugs, alcohol and sex just isn’t my vibe anymore. But let me just tell you if those are your same thoughts and feelings please just go ahead and read this book. Ecstasy consumed me.
I am going to throw it out there that I have no idea why so many people are team Eli.
My ass was fucking team Alex through and through.
Like all you fans of The Unsainted, my bae will always be Jeremiah. Kiss my ass Lucifer fans.
Anyway. 5/5 stars.
This is an unforgettable book. Threw me back to being 16 years old again.
Ecstasy was tragically beautiful and healing in a sense.
*NOTE: I usually read something and wait a day or two to write a review just to reflect but this story had me ready and I didn’t want lose the feels it gave me. At first when I saw this book and read the blurb I didn’t think I would like it but I have read all the Unsainted books by K.V. Rose so I had full faith this would end up being an amazing read regardless. I’m glad I did. This story is a dark and twisted one of course.
Zara, Alex, and Eli are three messed up individuals in different ways and with many scars, some just hide them better than others. Zara has a thing for uppers, Alex has anger issues, and Eli well he is all kinds of fucked up. Once they meet at a party things start to get out of control. Zara is drowning and struggling with the reality of her substance abuse problem. Alex has been dealing with his family issues on top of all the drama Zara has caused in his life. Eli has secrets and has done some bad things. Eli tries his best to tear Alex and Zara apart but what he doesn’t realize is there love runs deep and things will unfold including all of Eli’s issues coming to light…someone might even die.
I loved this book so much and the characters especially Zara. Zara could be anyone.. me..you.. anyone who has ever felt uncomfortable in their own skin and just felt like they need something to make them fun and likable. I found her so relatable in that aspect. Can’t wait to read Sinister!!!
Okay, so you guys know that I’m a die hard K.V. Rose fan thanks to @theinfinitereaderr. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that I positively loved Ecstasy!
This book is everything I never knew I needed.
This book, as is all of hers that I have read, is definitely not for the faint of heart, but so so good!
I have decided that K.V. Rose is the queen of making you love the boys that you know you’re not supposed to. Not to mention, she is also the queen of plot twists. also, don’t get me started on her steam factor.
Bottom line, K.V. Rose is a queen and I’m obsessed with her and her books.
I have to give a huge shout out to @theinfinitereaderr for introducing to me K.V. Rose and making me fall in love with all the fictional bad boys.

“ God, I’m fucked up “
Yes i know, I’m very late to the ecstasy party and the K.V Rose party but now I’m finally hear. I’m never ever leaving. K.V Rose you have now become one of my favourites authors by just one book and I can’t wait to read the rest.
“ You want to experience everything right? Then let me hurt you. Just a little “
Yeah ‘ just a little ‘ This is not your typical romance at all and I’m still thinking about this book and i read it a couple of days ago. I didn’t review it straight away because I honestly didn’t know how to put it in words. I still don’t..
This book was addicting and I couldn’t put it down. This book was insane, intense and was written so fucking well. Especially touching on serious matters. It was done really well in my opinion
“ she’s not broken. She’s not looking for someone to save her. She’s looking for someone to drown with her “
This book has triggers and it will get up in your face. I highly recommend this book but be warned.
Let’s talk about the characters. Where do i even start
“ Zara Henderson is a vindictive, manipulative, lying, druggie whore “
Zara was an extremely complex character. She uses drugs to feel normal not anxious or awkward. To fit in and be accepted. To be loved… At the start of the book i was not a fan of her. Cheating and sleeping around but i also understood what drugs and addiction can do you to. Towards to middle and end I started to feel for her more and empathised with her.
“ Alex gots a hot temper, the loud mouth and always causing a fucking scene. He’s not the only one with a temper. We’re like fire and gasoline. If he wants to put on a show, no one does it better than i do “
Now alex is an asshole. He’s loud and hides his deep anger issues. He does some questionable things to zara, which lead to much more but he’s lost just like the rest of them. But deeper down he’s got a heart of gold and truly cares for zara alot, it just takes awhile to reveal that side. I honestly thought this book was going in a different direction and that alex was the bad guy but nope that was eli…
“ Eli Addison just looks wicked. Eli is cold. Alex is hot. I’ve always wondered what it would feel like to have them both buried inside of me “
Eli is our troubled, dark intense broken character. He wants to control everything. To own and manipulate everything including zara. That’s what gets him off. He’s the master manipulator, covering himself as the good guy. He’s bad, the anti hero and I can’t wait for his book.
“ I’m not good for him. I’m not good for her. I’m not good for either of them “
These characters are broken in their own ways and are extremely bad for each other. Them together is a toxic rollercoaster ride that i want to be on forever. I love reading dark Romance because it lets me experience my darkest fantasies but also helps me live in a world i could never possibly live in. It’s exciting and super intense. It’s chaotic and something I’ll never experience so i get to within these books.
TRIGGER WARNING,
This book revolves around toxic relationships, drug addiction, mental health and if you get invested into the characters as much as I did then there is a chance you might cry towards the end.
Zara Henderson is famous in college for being the girl who overdosed, ended up in rehab and now is the girlfriend of Alex Cardi, the star football player. She takes drugs to solely become a different person, more likable and fun to hang out around. To be anyone besides the person she is when she is sober, shy and awkward.
Now there were two Zara’s in this book for me, Druggie Zara and the real Zara, which we get to read about towards the end. And obviously was my favorite.
Alex Cardi, star football player, who has serious anger issues thanks to his cheating dad, who is a pastor and his mother who is also a drug addict just like his girlfriend.
But the thing with Alex is no matter how many times Zara fucks up, he can’t seem to let her go because he just loves her too much.
Eli Addison, He’s a wrestler, he’s smart, quiet and the son of a wealthy lawyer. He is also Alex’s roommate and has been obsessed with his roommates girlfriend since he met her. He believes Alex is not good for her and that he is too controlling.
”She isn’t broken.
She’s not looking for someone to save her.
She’s looking for someone to drown with her.”
When I finished the book
I really liked Zara.
I was in love with Alex.
I was obsessed with Eli.
And Jax .
I can tell you that I thought I had an inkling of what this book was gonna be like. I was so excited because I love KV Rose’s books and couldn’t wait to finally read this one. After finally reading it, I am at a loss for words. KV Rose always knows how to take my breath away just by reading a book. I love this book, wholeheartedly! This book, just like every KV Rose book, is not for the ones that can’t handle triggers.
I was so invested in the story of these characters, that I was feeling the emotions that the character went through, right as the scenes were happening. I couldn’t put the book down. Literally, ever page was twists and turns, that I for one did not see coming. It was dark, mysterious, and captivating all in one.
These characters were different all in their own ways. They each struggled with something that they had to overcome. Zara struggled with never wanting to be alone. Alex struggled with his family. Eli struggled with his dark mind. The connections between these characters are like a rubber band, they just keep getting pulled back together, no matter how much they pull away. It was definitely steamy in this book. The entire time I wasn’t sure where these characters were gonna take me, but in the end I can say it was definitely for a wild ride.
This book I was seriously so invested in that this entire review I could barely find the words to write. This is the type of books I want to be reading, ones that take everything out of you because you can fully experience it. I fully love this book! This is one I definitely recommend for other readers.
She’s not broken. She’s not looking for someone to save her. She’s looking for someone to drown with her.
Ecstasy is my second read from KV Rose and I’ve got two thoughts.
1.) KV Rose’s writing is perfection. It’s not overly flowery. It’s direct yet beautiful, and flows very naturally.
2.) Rose is a master as creating characters that are twisted and fascinating. I spent the entirety of this book hating all the characters but also strangely obsessed with them. They are train wrecks but I couldn’t look away from the wreckage.
I have a hate/love relationship with books that have heavy drug use, but this one did it well. It didn’t glorify it in my opinion. It actually showed the very ugly sides of drug use/addiction. Drug use was a huge part of the story so there was no way to go about it any differently. I enjoyed how raw and honest Ecstasy was. This was an amazing dark love triangle with just a touch of thriller vibes.
I kept waiting for that moment when I fell in love with one character or a certain couple but that never happened. They are all awful but I still greatly enjoyed my experience with them. I cannot wait for more Eli. I didn’t fall for him but I am highly curious about him.
Read this if you enjoy:
-dark romance
-love triangles
-heavy topics
-unpredictable characters that you hate to love and vice versa
CW: heavy drug use, talk of self harm, dubious consent, abuse (physical, mental, emotional)
Overall rating 4 stars
Steaminess 2.5 stars
Those scars are beautiful, baby girl
I’m sitting here thinking what in the haberdashery and hemoglobin did I just read? No, but honestly, this was some trip and I’m still kind of reeling from all the crazy, screwed up madness.
So… Even though I ended up disliking Zara, Alex and Eli as characters and not enjoying the ending too much, I still found this strangely compelling. Maybe because everything was so crazy, but the drama kept me reading.
This book is not for the faint hearted. The depiction of someone with a drug addiction is raw and you almost feel as though you’re in that state with Zara. At times I found this a little too much to take so I had to keep stopping, but ultimately, I needed to see how the story played out.
Am I satisfied with it how it all came to a head? Not particularly, but I can see where KV Rose was going with it all. It kept me reading so that has to count for something!
Dark, Raw and Gritty!
“He probably doesn’t know either, that the girls with the worst habits have the sharpest teeth. And that girl could take a bite out of f***ing glass and never bleed.”
WOW! I am not sure how I have never read a book by this phenomenal author, but after reading this amazing story, I will never be missing out on her books again!
This story is phenomenal. It’s dark, raw, gritty and very twisted. It will take you down a rabbit hole of darkness and intense emotional pain. Be ready for a very wild rollercoaster ride of grit, darkness, twisted together in one very destructive story!
Zara, Alex and Eli are intense characters with so much pain, anger and violence that you can’t decide who you love and who you hate. Together and alone they are very destructive to themselves and to each other. With everything they do you end up falling deeper and deeper into their messed up story.
This is not a happy story and right from the start this amazing authors words will keep you enthralled and captivated not know what was going to happen next. There was nothing predictable about this story and that’s what makes it phenomenal. It kept me on the edge of my seat, utterly breathless and shocked right to the very end! And that ending was exactly what we readers needed to end such a tragic and dark story.
This book was amazing from the very beginning to the last sentence. It broke my heart at times and blew me away!
I can’t wait to read more by this amazing author. Highly recommend.
What a beautiful train wreck this story was. It’s the dark story of three college kids who find their lives irrevocably tangled in lies, drugs and dangerous behaviors. Zara is the star female character and she’s dating Alex the popular football quarterback. Eli is Alex’s best friend, room mate and also attracted to Zara. The key factor in the tangled triangle is Zara has a drug addiction issue and the darkness inside of her comes out when it’s most unnecessary. This story follows the three of them as they tragically change each other’s lives forever.
I really enjoyed this story, the tragic-ness of their situations hit home for me on many levels bringing back a lot of my own past experiences and calling to my own inner demons. This is not a light read, nor is it recommended for anyone that has triggers related to rape, abuse, drug use and self mutilation. But if you enjoy dark, twisted romances then you’ll appreciate what KV Rose provides you in this one!
