Jack Reacher finds trouble in Texas in the fifth novel in Lee Child’s New York Times bestselling series. Thumbing across the scorched Texas desert, Jack Reacher has nowhere to go and all the time in the world to get there. Cruising the same stretch of two-lane blacktop is Carmen Greer. For Reacher, the lift comes with a hitch. Carmen’s got a wild story to tell—all about her husband, her family … about her husband, her family secrets, and a hometown that’s purely gothic. She’s also got a plan. Reacher’s part of it. And before the sun sets, this ride could cost them both their lives.

Classic Jack Reacher. In the middle of nowhere he gets into a fight, gets picked up by a beautiful woman while hitchhiking and gets embroiled in a conspiracy.
Action packed as always; a fun read.
Echo Burning is the fifth book in the Jack Reacher series. Reacher is hitchhiking across no man’s land in Texas minding his own business. Carmen Greer gives him a ride and has an incredible tale to tell him. By the end of the ride, Reacher is ready to kill an abusive husband.
I really like the Jack Reacher stories as they are so entertaining and action packed. They are emotionally satisfying as he always comes out on top and gets the bad guys. This book wasn’t one of my favorites that I have read, but the second half was the best part.
No matter what problem follows Jack Reacher or whatever trouble he stumbles into it is always worth the read.
It’s Reacher what more can you say!
Another great read
I found it entertaining.
Another great book. You can’t go wrong reading this book, especially if you like action.
A typical Jack Reacher novel. Good story.. great plot.. inimitable Reacher
Love Jack Reacher. The best hero character.
Reacher at his best.
Echo Burning, the fifth volume of Lee Child’s Jack Reacher series, is a story about domestic violence and racism set against the background of a sweltering Texan landscape.
With Echo Burning, Lee Child once again demonstrates his mastery of plot development, weaving together disparate strands, toying with reader expectations and ending his chapters with his customary cliffhangers or sudden turnarounds.
Jack Reacher seems harsher, more acerbic in this instalment, his anger less controlled. The secondary characters are at times flawed: Alice, a lawyer, remains rather wooden, and while Carmen is sketched in detail and with sympathy as a survivor of domestic violence and racist abuse, the focus drifts away from her as the story progresses, more than is required by the plot… In spite of this, Echo Burning is an engaging thriller with distinctive characters and a memorable, oppressive setting.
Love Jack reacher.
Ok, I’m biased – if it’s Reacher, I’m in.
Lee Child winds this story from Reacher on the move to Reacher on the move. He encounters a woman who needs his help–but verifies her circumstances before thinking he will help her. The facts are straight, then they begin to uncover the lies, then the lies turn to lies. Thinking that you have it straight–until you don’t! Read this book if you follow Jack Reacher and determine who is lying.
Love all of Lee Child’s books.
As usual if it’s Lee Child is a good read, to the last page!
This book was a bit different — not military. I love all Lee Child’s Jack Reacher books and this one was great too.
Loved this book. Wondered where the title came from. Finally figured it out. Could imagine the big scene in my head. Lots of action.
Starting to get a little old, seems I have already read this book.
