Jack Reacher finds trouble in Texas in the fifth novel in Lee Child’s New York Times bestselling series. Thumbing across the scorched Texas desert, Jack Reacher has nowhere to go and all the time in the world to get there. Cruising the same stretch of two-lane blacktop is Carmen Greer. For Reacher, the lift comes with a hitch. Carmen’s got a wild story to tell—all about her husband, her family … about her husband, her family secrets, and a hometown that’s purely gothic. She’s also got a plan. Reacher’s part of it. And before the sun sets, this ride could cost them both their lives.

The character Reecher ner disappoints.
A great Jack Reacher book.
This was my second time to read the book that introduced Reacher to Holly Johnson/McGrath, who shows up in later stories. It was nice to go back and revisit that story. As always, Lee Child does not disappoint with his intricate plots and continuing to raise the stakes.
I have enjoyed each of the Jack Reacher books
Every Jack Reacher book is great. Lee Child writes in such a way that you can picture every single thing because he describes so well and yet to the point. He doesn’t go on and on with his descriptions. His books really hold your interest throughout the whole book. No slow areas ever.
Lee Child wrote it. Enough said.
Lee Child never disappoints!
Child is As GOOD As It Gets !
Echo burning is the 5th book in the reacher series. It takes place in the flat desert areas of south Texas. It is typical Reacher, good guy willing to get involved with strangers to help them out. One of my favorites in the series.
It’s Jack Reacher (not Tom Cruise)! What more needs to be said?
Best Reacher story ever!
Standard Jack Reacher. Which means entertaining but fairly formula.
I liked the action in this story. I liked Ellie. I felt sorry for Ellie. I felt sorry for Carmen. I didn’t like this book’s storyline & it was offensive. The ending was okay.
This is one of the best Jack Reacher novels. Reacher is Reacher and the supporting characters are well-developed, but the real star of this book is West Texas. Lee Cild effectively captures the ethos of one of the most unique and contradictory places in the United States.
I’ve read almost every Reacher book. I love the way the main character reveals himself in each novel. I almost feel like I know him-his habits and idiosyncrasies, In my opinion, each novel has been a great read.
One of my favorite Child books. I was in Texas seeing all of the rather desolate landscape along with Jack Reacher.
