This was my favorite book for the longest time! It was such a great read: the characters were well-developed, the ending was perfect, and everything came together so satisfyingly. I just loved it!
I couldn’t put this book down! The diffrent stories inside it fit together perfectly. You’ll love it! This book surprised me in every way, and it will surprise you to.

Interesting stories of a traveling harmonica be sure you read to the very end for a surprising ending. Stories are unusual and thought provoking . Good for a change.
I picked this up wanting an easy read, which it was. But it was also so much more. I got swept away in the stories. And the ending made me so happy. It was a clean story with no language or rude humor. And I can truthfully say, it was worth my time. It also gives basic instructions on harmonica playing. Which I did try doing. 😉 I recommend this …
it is amazing
When I read this, I am there. Like a bystander witnessing this, and doing nothing.
This book was the favorite of my 7th grade book club. The 3 different stories are really entertaining and the characters were amazing. It takes the WWII backdrop but tells stories that aren’t the typical ones or themes. There was a lot for discussion. Everyone should read this book!
Pam Muñoz Ryan’s ECHO is three stories about racial discrimination and war, wrapped up in a fairy tale about three muses and a harmonica. It’s a long read, but a good one. I appreciated the hopefulness in this book, even in the dark, World War II setting. If you have a sensitive reader, it might help to know that things turn out well.
It was …
Everyone should read this book. It is timely and beautiful and tough and hopeful.
I listened to it via audiobook, and it added even another special layer. Wow. Just…wow.
It won the Newbery for young adult literature. I read it to see if I would want my granddaughter to read it. It was wonderful, magical, happy, sad and just a little frightening. I think it’s a little too mature for my almost 10 year old but I’m definitely giving
It to her when she’s 11 or 12.
This is an awesome book! I couldn’t put it down. You t is well written and so descriptive and realistic that, I found myself in the pages going along with the characters.
A couple of important points:
1) I listened to this. I am not a big fan of listening to books because I generally have enough mind wandering going on that I am never sure if I missed something important and being a more visual learner I have a hard time remembering who too many characters are. But this book is exceptionally recorded!! I loved …
