This is a sweet and fun best friends brother live story with a bit of a mystery in the mix.
Tyler is back in New Orleans after fleeing 5 years prior. He is back to fix his relationship with his family that he messed up by leaving and not returning. His two sisters aren’t so welcoming but his sister’s roommate and best friend is a ray of light in the dark.
Alicia and Tyler start out as friends, both wanting more, but holding back because of Tyler’s sister.
This book is definitely a slow burn. But the story is so fun you won’t even notice. And I loved the twist at the end. Can’t wait to read more from this author in the future

I loved reading this story. It had everything I love in a book, drama, steamy and love. The characters were really enjoyable to read about and I loved the storyline so much. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this book to anyone. A very enjoyable and easy read.
Doobie and Alicia will have you all in their corner as they take that journey towards a happily ever after. Doobie left his hometown after catching his best friend and girlfriend in a compromising position. When he left his family suffered as well because he didn’t communicate with them either. Now he is back home and has some making up to do. One of the good things to come out of it was Alicia his sister’s best friend. One look between them and there were fireworks going off. Will this be the beginning of a second chance for love for Doobie? This story touches your heart and the characters are identifiable making this story one you will want to read again.

I absolutely loved this. We first meet Doobie, aka Tyler Dubois, in Bethany’s book, 7 Months from her Time For Love series. I was intrigued by him and I’m very happy he got his own story.
Doobie moves back to New Orleans and is on the police force. Alicia is Doobie’s sister’s friend/roommate.
Off. Limits.
Right?
There is no doubt of the sparks that fly when they first meet.
But they have to remain friends, because Doobie’s sister doesn’t want Alicia to fall for him. (Rude. LOL)
We all know how that usually ends.
With the chemistry between these two so strong, and the sexual tension thick, watching these two fight their attraction and try to hide their relationship was entertaining.
Throw in a little mystery/whodunnit, and you get a thrilling and delightfully entertaining plus sexy little read.
This novella is a perfect mixture of suspense, humor, and steam. It had all the feels I need. A perfect afternoon read!
I enjoyed Tyler and Alicia’s story. The details were amazing. Easy Risk is filled with drama, suspense, family bonding and love. It was a great story to read. I love Bethany’s work and I can’t wait to see what she writes next.
I loved The original Boudreaux series and was super excited to read this spin off. This book was cute, some suspense, and set in one of my favorite cities to visit! A fun read
I received a free ARC of this book and am writing my honest opinion.
The heat between Doobie and Alicia leaps off the pages in this book! Too bad Alicia promised her roommate (and Doobie’s sister) that he was off limits. When they risk it all, will it pay off?
Bethany Lopez is an author who never fails to deliver a story that engages the reader from start to finish. Palpable chemistry and tension between characters can be found in every book this author writes.
If you have never read Bethany Lopez before, you are missing out!
This is a great book to read I enjoyed the well developed and engaging characters throughout the pages. The storyline flowed smoothly from the beginning to the end.

What a great book. The storyline moves at a great pace. It allows the plot to develop and characters to develop! A sweet love story.
This book has all the right stuff!! Awesome story, interesting characters (both main and supporting), heat, humour, drama and emotion. I absolutely loved and enjoyed reading this book. I couldn’t read fast enough! Definitely be looking for more books by this author. Happy reading everyone!!
Not having read any of the previous books in the Boudreaux Universe THIS was my introduction to Tyler Dubois aka “Doobie”…and what an introduction it was! After discovering his friend and girlfriend in a compromising position, the heartbroken Doobie decided to leave everything behind to start over somewhere else. After five years though, years spent finding himself and becoming a cop, he’s ready to return home and make amends to the family members he hurt by his leaving without a word. It’s a journey that’s not easy as his tight knit family was truly hurt by his actions and don’t make it easy for him. He has to work at earning their forgiveness and the time he put into it warmed my heart.
The one bright spot during this time is his meeting Alicia, his sister’s friend, who’s been warned to keep him at arm’s length so that she doesn’t get hurt. It’s a crackling first meeting between them, a meeting that leaves each wanting more, and from that very first moment their interactions become more complicated (yet comforting too). As their friendship turns steamy they try to keep it secret as Alicia doesn’t want his family to be hurt yet again, but that’s easier said than done. Alicia’s a strong support to him as he rebuilds his relationship with his family and her actions had me liking her all the more. Doobie and Alicia’s journey is one full of push/pull moments, moments teeming with sensuality too, and I was completely caught up in the new life Doobie’s made for himself while cheering them on.
This was a quick read, a charming read focused on family that threw in a bit of mystery and suspense to keep me turning the pages in anticipation. Doobie’s an immensely appealing hero who, after being wounded, has come to realize just how important family is and makes a concerted effort to earn the forgiveness of those he left behind. He knows he was wrong and wore his heart on his sleeve in reconnecting with his family and each step had me falling for him all the more. Alicia’s equally likable and a good match to Doobie. She has a kind heart but isn’t afraid to tell it like it is in interactions that were steamy and put a smile on my face. Doobie’s family were an appealing bunch too and their hurt feelings were understandable. Alicia being told to stay away from Doobie though felt a bit too much, but it’s clearly hurt feelings that issued that warning, and I didn’t hold it against his sisters for long. On a whole this was a charming novella with a familiar feel that brought a bit of comfort amidst all the chaos currently in the world!
Alicia hasn’t lived in New Orleans long, but she already feels like her roommate and best friend Taylor is family. When Taylor’s brother Doobie returns home, she begs Alicia not to get involved with him. Begs her not to fall in love with him like all the girls in her past did. Problem is they are incredibly attracted to each other and staying away from each other maybe harder than they thought. This is a really good romance with passion and some danger mixed in.

This story is too short! It ended too soon!
Tyler was away for a few years, and now he’s back in his town. He thinks everything will be the same, but years were passing by, and so were people.
Alicia is new in the town, she doesn’t know Tyler. She’s just his younger sister’s friend and she can’t be unloved!
Those two were not looking for anything, but when their connection gets deeper will they proceed?
Even being a short story Easy Risk treated an important topic, but more of it you will find in the book!
I loved Tyler and Alicia’s story. Tyler (Doobie) is a police officer, returning home after being away for years. Alicia is new in town, and is Tyler’s sister, Taylor, friend and roommate, and off limits to Tyler. Alicia had promised had promise Taylor she wouldn’t fall for Tyler. When Tyler and Alicia meet the sparks fly between them. Easy Risk is a wonderful story, filled with drama, humor, chemistry, and love.
I have to say I was happily surprised when I realized Easy Risk by Bethany Lopez was Dobbie’s story! This is a complete standalone, however, for those of us who have been reading Bethany for a while, we first met him in 7 Months and loved him. Doobie is coming home after years away. He ran from heartbreak but found new footing and friends. After years away, he is finally ready to go home, but not everyone is as excited as he is.
Alicia is loving her life in her new home, New Orleans. She has made friends and is establishing roots. When her roommate’s brother comes home, she asks Alicia not to fall for him, so she promises. Then she meets Doobie and immediately feels a connection and chemistry with him. But she needs to stay away. But as Dobbie and Alicia bump into each other and she helps him get settled, they begin to become friends and maybe more. But will they be pulled apart before they have a chance to be together? I loved Easy Risk by Bethany Lopez. It was sweet and charming with a bit of light angst and intrigue!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
It’s been awhile since I read the Time for Love series so I did brush up on all things Doobie before diving in to this book. He’s funny and a loyal friend and that reminder from 7 Months was just what I needed to suck me into this book.
I lost an entire day to Doobie and Alicia’s story. Their friendship and chemistry was so palpable that I felt every bit of it.
I feel like there’s a perfect opportunity for the Dubois family to get their series and I loved the check in with one of my faves from the Time for Love series.
I was so excited for this book and I was not disappointed! I love Bethany Lopez and I was so excited to see that she was writing in the Boudreaux Universe! Doobie and Alicia are amazing! I loved everything about this story! Such a sweet story with an amazing HEA! FIVE STARS!
Another great story by Miss Lopez, these 2 were everything! I read it in one sitting because their chemistry was off the charts! It was great to go back to New Orleans and see a couple I adored!
BAM!!! Bethany did it again!!!!
Tyler and Alicia are my new favorite couple by Bethany. It was a mix of a lot of Drama, some funny some romance. It was perfect and I truly loved every word written
