This was such a cool novella! There was so much that learned from the adventure that Lena and Mason embarked on- not just about archeology and gemstones, but about life as well. I fell in love with both of them, while they fell back in love with each other.
As a fan of Kristen Proby’s, as well as this series of standalones, I wasn’t surprised that I loved it. It’s a perfect complement to the Boudreaux series!
Some of this series was a lot of fun. This one was not. It was annoying and made Lena, an otherwise smart lovely fun person into a sap and pushover and she lost all respect from me.
Mason walked out and then only because forced to by his beloved aunt because of some very twisted requirement in her will forced him to go to her to get his inheritance. He apologizes and then she jets off with him? Sorry, but very disingenuous to her character and honestly Mason is a jerk who doesn’t deserve her. He walked away with no note, no warning and no thoughts of anyone or anything except himself so he should either fall into the scorched earth category or work damn had to get back in her good graces. Next thing they’re back in bed and all lovey dovey? Ugh. Really glad it was short and I could listen at a faster speed so I could get done more quickly. This was not for me or anyone with a spine. Save yourself the trouble
What a great addition to this series! Lena has been a part of the girls night and Mallory’s best friend, and yes she is a witch, and now we get her story too. Mason is back in town for the reading of his aunt’t will and the only stipulation is Lena has to go with him. She leaves everything to Mason but in order to receive it he and Lena have to embark on a quest…a treasure hunt of sorts. Lena calls him Indiana Jones for a reason and this treasure hunt brings them back together…as the aunt wanted all along. This was so good and worth all the feels!
This a short and sweet novella with a fun, and romantic little treasure hunt thrown in. I enjoyed listening to the audio.

I was so excited to find out that Kristen Proby was giving us a surprise novella for the Boudreaux Series. I can’t get enough of this series.
Well let me tell you, I was honored to receive an ARC of Easy Fortune and it was quite the little GEM 😉 I was so excited to see Lena get a story for herself. I really enjoyed her character in Easy Magic and wanted to see her get a HEA too.
Easy Fortune was an big adventure rolled into a short, sweet and sexy story. This book was filled with so much, it is hard to believe it is a novella. I didn’t feel that it was rushed in anyway or that anything was missing. Kristen gets to the heart of the story right from the first page. This book is a second chance romance but also had a amazing message built into the story through the eyes of Claudia (Mason’s Aunt)
In this book we follow Mason and Lena on a small adventure put together by his Aunt Claudia. Mason and Lena used to date 6 years ago and thought everything was going well until Mason just ups and leaves without a word to Lena. She was devastated. It took Lena awhile to get over the hurt Mason caused, but she finally did and now 6 years later Mason is back. Mason has come back to settle his late Aunt’s will and estate. Little did he or Lena know, Aunt Claudia has a trick up her sleeve 🙂 Will Lena be able to forgive Mason for leaving?? Will they be able to reconnect?? What happens when it is time for Mason to leave again and go back to his job?? Can these two finally find their HEA?? Read Easy Fortune to find out.
Easy Fortune is a standalone novella that is told in Dual POV and is a part of the Boudreaux Series. You don’t have to read any of the other books in this series to enjoy this book. You do see Mallory (from Easy Magic) in this story, because she is Lena’s BFF and Lena leans on her quite a bit for advice. But it is not necessary to read that book before reading this novella.
I can’t stress it enough that if you haven’t read this series yet, then don’t wait…jump on in and enjoy the ride!! This series is fantastic. The stories are engaging, fun, sexy and sweet. You will just fall in love with this family and their friends.
You will love this Boudreaux novella that will cause you to fall in love with Lena and Mason. Their story is full of a treasure hunt full of adventure. It’s a second chance romance for them. You will just fall in love with this storyline. It flows. The writing is smooth and is flawless. Dual point of view. No cliffhanger.
I love this series, even the novelettes.
