“Fun and flirty, EARNING IT is a winner!” — Avery Flynn, USA Today best selling author of The NegotiatorOne blind date. One case of mistaken identity. One Navy SEAL faced with his high school crush. What could go wrong? And her hookup? A gorgeous lawyer. It should’ve been simple. A hot, sweaty afternoon quickie and never the two should boink, er, meet again. But it wasn’t simple when she learns … again.
But it wasn’t simple when she learns the next day that her hookup is not only her patient but also her old high school nemesis Luke Haas, or Haashole as she called him. All grown-up and a Navy SEAL and…and…brawny and maddening and omg-so-hot.
EARNING IT is a steamy second chance, enemies-to-lovers standalone romantic comedy from RITA Winning and USA Today bestselling author Angela Quarles with a happy-ever-after and no cheating or cliffhangers. Warning: there’s a scene where guys get all hot and sweaty playing the ancient Irish sport of hurling, just sayin’

Not really a comedy. But it’s a lovely story. Steamy sex scenes. But this story is all about the build up to the relationship. The in my opinion I ends abruptly.
I’ve become a new fan of this author! Her writing style draws you into the story, the characters, the setting and holds you until the end. Very interesting plot, a bit of the opposite instead of the usual which I loved. Funny, witty and sexy as hell…
It was short but pretty good.
Earning It by Angela Quarles is supposed to be a romantic comedy, and it did have some humor in it, but there was more angst than comedy. This book is written in first person/alternating point of view format, my least favorite…I think this is a book that would have worked better in 3rd person. Pepper and Luke’s second chance story was loaded with drama, bits of humor, sizzle and fantastic characters. I know this sounds like a negative review, but I did enjoy reading Earning It. Earning It is book 1 of the Stolen Moments Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
It was good. It kept me very interested, unfortunately, it ended very abruptly. The mission of the writer was to sell her next book having sloppily introduced the male and female lead in this book. Do one thing, do it well, THEN move on.
Funny, sexy, a little angsty, but such a joy to read! I really liked the whole cast of characters and am looking forward to reading more from the Stolen Moments series. There’s so much to like about this particular book that kicks it all off. We have Pepper who has just come out of a rather unfortunate situation, a break up and a suspension from work. With a new job and a fresh start in her home town her life is looking up. If it weren’t for the blind date she’s heading to her day would be great. A misunderstanding puts her across the table from her high school nemesis, Luke Haas.
Luke can’t believe his luck. Struggling with the lack of life that penetrates his emotional walls he is floored by Pepper’s presence not just in the cafe but at his table. If only she weren’t calling him by someone else’s name. He decides to let the misunderstanding slide and that one mistake takes them to his place where they share something incendiary. Neither one wants to forget it but those were the rules…
Jobs, sports, and secrets take them from high to low and back again. Watching them make mistakes, find forgiveness, shut each other out, let one another in, and ultimately devote themselves to a future with one another was highly entertaining. Their banter is fun and their chemistry is absolutely hot. The feels are also quite abundant as is the honesty that they finally share. There wasn’t enough time and too few pages to adequately work through Luke’s history but they’re well on their way and with what Pepper and Luke have a chance to build up to this point puts them into a really great place and I believe in their future. I loved reading their story.
Great story! Fun, flirty, sexy , a total must read!!
Fun read
I haven’t read yet.
Really, really enjoyed this one. A couple of 30-ish perople try to figure things out. Loved the realistic way these 2 engaged. Smoking hot as well, but didn’t take away from the story. Definitely worth the time and small cost. Liking forward to more from this author. Would love to read about older characters.
I absolutely loved this book! Not being a sports fan, I had serious reservations about reading it, since it appeared to be mostly about that. Luckily, I read an excerpt somewhere between Luke and Pepper that just totally sucked me in. The characters were fresh, believable, insecure, open to change, adoreable. The sex scenes were HOT, without being excessive. The interaction and verbal exchanges between the characters was entertaining, as was even their interal dialogues. Even the explanations of the sports sections weren’t too long or boring. Definitely a book that I recommend!
3.5 stars!
Earning It was a good read. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline, but the flow of the story was slow at times. Don’t get me wrong, the whole story wasn’t slow but it did have its moments. Pepper and Luke have history, it might not be on the greatest of terms because of something Luke admitted to doing. I thought her disliking him back then for it was a bit childish, but when your young and you work hard on something, I can understand why. It should have been water under a bridge. However, the instant attraction between the two was undeniable but when it came down to it for me, I felt as if something was missing between the two. The sexual chemistry was definitely there but I wanted more of a connection between the two. Overall, it was a good read and I would recommend readers give this book a try.
Another A+ for Angela Quarles!
Pepper and Luke’s story was interesting in that She has come home and is trying to set up a career as a sports dr. and Luke has been a Navy Seal.
Neither has seen the other since they got out of high school.
She was the brainy girl and pretty and he was the scrawny kid competing to be as smart as she is. He has a crush on her and she hates him for ruining her science project in the science fair.
Good story line and interesting situations. He knows who she is but she doesn’t have a clue who he is..
Sexual attraction as soon as they meet. Some really hot sex scenes.
I really enjoyed the story and the sex scenes ( really really HOT) were well written and believable.
