A dangerous lord and a desperate debutante… Chloe Finch. She’s too alluring by half and his soul holds real darkness, the kind that would swallow such a lovely creature whole.
Miss Chloe Finch is in grave need of a hero. But when The Earl of Dryden offers his assistance from behind a statue while she is attending a ball, she is well aware she shouldn’t accept. His darkly handsome looks make him look more like a pirate than a lord and his reputation is even worse. Still, she can’t deny the heat that scorches her skin with a single sweep of his mysterious gaze. Nor can she deny that despite everything inside her screaming that she shouldn’t trust him, a tiny bit of her is tempted. So very tempted.

Earl of Dryden, by Tammy Andresen. This book is a short romantic read. Tammy Andresen writing is fantastic. She introduced an intriguing topic that grabbed her readers attention. Tammy brought informative facts that backed the plot to the drama of the story. She focused her story on the two main characters, Fin and Chloe.
Fin, comes across Chloe at a ball, as she’s talking to a statue. Oddly this did not dissuade Fin from finding Chloe intriguing, nor wanting to talk to her. Chloe trying as she might did all she could to avoid Fin, but the attractive pull he has for he was to strong. Upon the two getting to know each other out on the balcony, evil things comes to surface. Fin makes a declaration to protect this angel, that has been sent to him.
Through their journey, Fin comes to turn with his demons and hopes to be the strong man that Chloe needs. With the help of family and friends, will Chloe and Fin learn to trust each other? Will they be able to love one another? Can Fin tear down the barriers around his heart and tell Chloe the dark secrets of his past? The book is easy to read and definitely kept a swift pace while reading.
The book didn’t drag or lag at all. Tammy provided details to the scenes, giving her readers the imagination that they needed to get lost in her book. In future reading by Tammy Andresen, I know that readers will love to read more detailed love scenes regarding there characters. Perhaps these scenes can span over 2-3 pages. Beginning from the romance and four play of love making. And the after moments of coupling.
The two characters could share intimate conversations/ pillow talk during this time. I recommend this book. Until next my fellow readers…read on! I voluntary reviewed this ARC after receiving a free gifted copy.
The Earl of Drydan
Finn and Chloe both carry their own burden.
Through meetings at balls and outings they grow closer and begin to move beyond the things that hold them back. They are perfect for each other.
This was my first Tammy Anderson books, but certainly not my last! Very much enjoyed travelling the story path with Finn and Chloe!
I was given an advanced copy of this book to read and review that I received from a third party. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Chloe is selectively mute, and has been for several years, which causes issues for her when her aunt forces her out into society. Fin is the one person besides her friends who has managed to break through her defenses.
This was a good story and I was pleased to see a couple of characters from the earlier Wicked Earl’s Club books make an appearance as well.
I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review.
The Earl of Dryden is part of the Wicked Earls Club series and is book 12 in the collaborating author’s series. It is also the first book of Tammy Andresen’s new series, the Chronicles of a Bluestocking. Chloe Finch was extremely shy and froze up when approached by someone she didn’t know. Most in Society thought she was mute and dumb. At a ball Chloe asks a statue to save her, as her aunt and friends are despairing about Chloe. When the statue answers yes and Fin, the Earl of Dryden, steps out, Chloe was afraid the rumors about her were correct. For reasons unknown to Fin, he felt concern for Chloe. Chloe felt comfortable with Fin and was able to speak to new people when around him. Fin was fond of Chloe but was afraid he would repeat his history and bring Chloe with him. They complimented each other, each give strength to the other. But can they overcome their fears in order to have their happy ending? This was a wonderful book to start the new series with and introduced Chloe’s friends who will be in the next books. It is also a great book to start the Christmas season of the Wicked Earls series. I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
What a wonderful and delightful book and Tammy Andresen never disappoints!! Earl of Dryden: Chronicles of a Bluestocking is book 12 in the Wicked Earls” Club series and how I am just loving this series. I hope it will go on for forever. Tammy has such an amazing imagination and her story are just a true joy to read. I could never get enough. This regency tale is easy to read and the characters are just wonderful and you can’t help but fall in love with them. This story has a mute, protection, a bad reputation, good friends, an evil aunt, abuse, cads, kindness and true love… oh sigh! I highly recommend you read this book or any of Tammy Andresen’s books, you won’t be disappointed.
***This book was gifted to me and I am voluntarily reviewing.
Two misfits, one in need of a hero, one needing to be a hero…both looking for something they never thought they could find among the London Ton. Why yes, that means Tammy Andresen is back with another quick historical romance filled with humor, heart and heat!
EARL OF DRYDEN is one of those reads that makes me very happy I live in the twenty-first century, because…good grief, those haughty and nasty people deserve some serious payback. The Earl of Dryden has some dark and dangerous ghosts in his closet, a past that is painful to relive and a reputation that is hard to live down. Miss Chloe Finch has lived at the mercy of her stone-hearted aunt, named her guardian upon her parents’ death. When she found her opinions were not wanted, she resorted to not speaking in public, which, of course sent London’s idle tongues wagging.
From the first pages, which made me smile, we find just how amazing each of these characters are and how well-suited they are to each other! Besides, I love a good HEA that no one can ruin!
Another fabulously fun read from Tammy Andresen!
I received a complimentary ARC edition from Tammy Andresen. This is my honest and voluntary review.
In Earl of Dryden, being a woman who does not fit the expectations of the ton, Miss Chloe Finch was used to ridicule both at home and in public. Ever since the death of her mother, Chloe had shrunken into herself and stopped talking to all except a few chosen individuals. It was not until one night at a society function that Chloe inadvertently talked to someone outside of her circle of confidants. Hearing Chloe, a woman rumored to be mute, speak was a shock to Fenton, Earl of Dryden, even more shocking was that her voice was intriguing to him. Despite his initial spark of curiosity, Fin’s interest in Chloe’s presence was to get her away from her aunt and to engage himself in such a way that he could escape a woman who was in pursuit of him.
What Fin had not been expecting was to be enchanted by Chloe to such an extent that thoughts of her would linger and he would seek to find a way to see her again. Warring with his desires, though, was his unending feelings of guilt and self-loathing that would convince him that he was not a man worthy of a woman such as Chloe. Even with his convictions firmly set in place when he uncovered a hidden truth about Chloe there was only one way he could think of to protect her but Fin’s worry was that it would come with a steep cost to both Chloe and himself. Not knowing what else to do, Fin sets a plan into motion that, if allowed to come to fruition, will be advantageous for both him and Chloe but will also come with consequences that he would never have been able to fathom.
I was excited to step back into the Wicked Earl’s Club world with the first book in the Chronicles of a Bluestocking series, Earl of Dryden. Fin was such a knight in tarnished armor in this story and I loved that! When he learned of Chloe’s private torment, he dashed in ready to defend her honor and dang if that wasn’t just the swooniest act ever! It was his absolute regard for Chloe that allowed her to break free from the fears that gripped her and with her change of circumstances also came a change of heart. Their sweet courtship was just adorable and it was everything that I love in a romance. Chloe and Fin are both very likable characters and being a part of their journey in the Earl of Dryden was just delightful!
This review is based on a complimentary book I received from Aurora Publicity. It is an honest and voluntary review. The complimentary receipt of it in no way affected my review or rating.
Sigh, oh yes, my heart just melted while reading this story.
Chloe was a wounded soul. Brokenhearted at the passing of her mother at thirteen. Her guardian aunt, so unkind who made her feel worthless, so she stopped speaking. Now she just wants to get Chloe married off.
Fenton, Lord Dryden has been broken himself. Travelled to the dark depths and has just made it back but there is a lot he holds close and the darkness keeps trying to creep in….until he finds her.
When these two meet, it is a classic… yes Tammy Andresen at her best. Two kindred spirits that have found each other in an unusual way.
Could Chloe and Fin possibly find love and heal each other? Or would their past be too much?
A beautiful, romantic story that held everything I love as I turned the pages. If only he can realize how much he has to give and she open up and help him and herself. I want to tell you the whole story, but you will just have to read it and you will thank me. Or rather you will thank Tammy as I do for giving us the Earl of Dryden.
Earl Of Dryden by Tammy Andresen is a fabulous historical romance. This is a fairly quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. Ms. Andresen has once again provided readers with a well-written book. I love the characters in this story! Chloe only talks to a few people, everyone else believes she’s mute. Fin is trying to build his business but hits a brick wall when looking for partners because of his past behavior. Chloe and Fin’s story is packed with drama, smokin’ hot sexy bits, humor and action. I loved every page of this book and look forward to my next book by Tammy Andresen. Earl Of Dryden is book 1 of the Chronicles of a Bluestocking Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book that I received from a third party. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is a great start to the next group of Wicked Earl’s Club Series, Book 12 & the 1st book in Tammy Andresen’s Chronicles of a Bluestocking Series. Tammy Andresen is always on my “automatic buy” author list – she provides wonderful tales to support her lovable characters & this book held true to her writing talent.
Fenton, “Fin” to those close to him, Earl of Dryden had inherited a failing earldom after his parents died & had fallen in to a dark past of debauchery which included opium addiction. He has finally dug himself out & his business expertise has made the earldom healthy once again but he does not have his reputation back with society or reputable businesses.
Miss Chloe Finch is know as a mute around the society ballrooms as she will not speak to anyone. She is lovely but lives with an Aunt who took her in after her parents died. Chloe need a hero to save her from her present living situation & never knew when speaking to a marble statue in the ballroom that the dark & handsome Earl of Dryden would answer her back from behind the statue with a promise to help & she felt drawn to him a spoke back.
Fin & Chloe were in need of each other – she could be his wife, provide an heir & help mend his reputation & he could get her away from her overbearing, mean Aunt, get her inheritance to her because she was married & after she provided the heir, she could lead her own life. I enjoyed the story & Fin & Chloe were both very likable & you wanted their happiness from the beginning of the 1st chapter.
I was gifted the Advanced Reader Copy of this book & all opinions are my own & have been voluntarily given.
How is it that so many times it takes one damaged person to recognise another? When Fin, Earl of Dryden discovers Chloe Finch begging a statue to save her, it touches something deep within him. Fin quickly realises that the gossip bandied about regarding Chloe is not only malicious but also untrue and he sets out to right the wrongs that have been heaped upon her. However, that is just the tip of the iceberg and he discovers that the river of abuse runs far deeper than he thought possible. Fin is dealing with his own demons and is fearful of hurting the one person who has become more important to him than almost any other person. It takes a wise man to set him straight, but whether he will be able to convince Chloe that she is all he needs, is another matter altogether. Whilst Chloe has retreated into a self-protective shell, one can only love Fin as he reaches out and seeks to give her hope and a new future. The plot of this story is painful and yet laced with humour, as a gentle romance builds between Fin and Chloe. This novel is a standalone and comes to a happy, healing conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Fenton ‘Fin’ The Earl of Dryden has a reputation & not a good one, he knows all about the debutante, Chloe Finch who refuses to speak a word to anyone but he never expected she’d be so lovely, nor did he anticipate that he’d catch her confiding her secrets to a marble statue. Even more surprising, he wants to help her. Miss Chloe Finch is in grave need of a hero & finds with Fin she feels safe & can speak.
This is the first in a new series but also a return to the Wicked Earl’s Club. I read this novella in a sitting & such a captivating read. Fin inherited a bankrupt earldom, sunk to greater depths by becoming an opium eater then managed to drag himself out of despair to repair the earldom & become wealthy. He’s lovely but still has his insecurities. Chloe lost her parents & went to live with her abusive aunt & became mutt to save herself from further abuse, she’s desperate to move away & live with her three friends (I hope they are the heroines in the rest of the series). She also has her insecurities. Together Fin & Chloe compliment each other & make a strong couple. Strong characters & a well written well paced story made for a highly enjoyable afternoon read
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
