Not island hot or windswept
Dylan is the second book in the An Ex-Club Romance series by Camilla Stevens and the first of this series I have read. I am not sure what to say as based on the book description you would almost think you were reading a different story. What I was expecting was some really sizzling chemistry and some very hot and steamy erotic island paradise scenes. What I read was more medium temp and not a lot at that.
I think the story had a lot of potential but for the length of this book I am disappointed. I have read several other books by this author and liked them. So for me I am not sure if this is a one off or if this series is just not for me.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Great story.
Really liked this book it was a story that kept me reading in one go. The characters Dylan & Vanessa were wonderful were really great together. Another great read by Camilla Stevens.

Dylan is the owner/President of Sexton Enterprises and has always had a bad boy reputation. Vanessa is hired to photograph him and the two total opposites end out having great chemistry together. These two go through quite a bit making this story that much better as they didn’t get an easy HEA.
Dylan Sexton is a reputed billionaire bad boy and he’s determined to live up to his well earned reputation. At least that’s what he wants everyone to believe, right up until the moment he meets Vanessa Paige, the photographer he’s hired for his latest sin fest. She makes him reconsider his image and has him wondering if maybe it’s time to shed his bad boy facade. To bad Vanessa doesn’t want anything to do with him, even if he makes her want to do things with him that she’s never done with anyone else. Only time will tell if, once she gets to know the real Dylan, he will be worth letting him into her life and her hear.
Vanessa and Dylan story was a fun read of when opposites attracts. Both of these characters are so relatable and likable that you want to see them get together and enjoy going along for the ride of them getting to know each other. I liked how Vanessa encouraged Dylan to let the real him out and how Dylan encouraged Vanessa to sometimes take a walk on the wilds side. This is a great couple and I enjoyed reading their story.
From the first moment Dylan sets eyes on Vanessa, he is hooked. Unfortunately I struggled to feel the passion. Both characters are very likeable, but the story took a long time for me to care about them as a couple. The story is as usual for this author well edited. I look forward to reading the next installment.
Great read! I enjoyed the way the story developed and built. The chemistry between Dylan and Vanessa was great. Some very real issues were integrated into the story in a way that doesn’t preach, but still gets the point across.
Media manipulations and romance
4.5
Good romance, very well written, a little complex because the characters are complex (Dylan is a former bad boy who with a hard childhood, has become rich and manipulates the media to manage his image and his business), and Vanessa, a photographer who begins to be famous but finds herself swept away by one of Dylan’s manipulations to improve his image. This story could have been a romance with one more false connection, but the context of Vanessa’s media, the stars system, and Dylan’s past soon became difficult obstacles to overcome.

Good plot – I’ve read other books from this author from the International Legacies series and thoroughly enjoyed it. While Dylan and Vanessa’s story has a good plot and their characters have depth, it didn’t leave me with the same feeling after finishing. It is still a great read with some steamy sex. I wanted to finish it and read it in one sitting because it is interesting. In fact, I bought Archer’s book. [I received an advanced copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.]
This is the 2nd book in the series. This story is about Dylan and Vanessa. Are 1st impressions always correct? Very steamy sweet story.

I normally really enjoy this authors work, however by chapter 19 these two hadn’t spent any really time getting to know each other or for that matter any really time together my interest just pretty much waned.
The build up to these two getting together was just too much and I just couldn’t get into it at all. Both Vanessa and Dylan were pretty likeable characters and it may have been that the author was trying to build up the tension but unfortunately missed the mark for me at least entirely. I felt pretty much felt on the periphery for this story and just couldn’t connect with either of them for the eventual payoff to really matter that much to me.
I kept it as a three because others may be ok with it and the writing wasn’t bad just the story dragged a lot for me.

Can the bad boy be redeemed
Camilla sets the stage of bad boy meets good girl right in the opening pages of the book that will have you turning them trying to discover if the bad boy can be redeemed! Dylan and Vanessa meet in the elevator on the way up to his Spring Fling party where Vanessa is the photographer for the night. When Vanessa’s career is threatened, will Dylan jeopardize his own career to protect Vanessa? Will Vanessa and Dylan find a life together with the threat of outside forces? You have to read to find out and will not put the book down until you turn the last page!
Dylan: Ex-Bad Boy is one of the best books I have read this year! And that’s saying something because I read one or more books a week.
Camilla has a clean, crisp writing style that draws you into her stories. Add to that outstanding characters you can really relate too. A fantastic world where they live, play and find their happily ever after and you have one amazing story.
I really can’t say enough good things about “Dylan: Ex-Bad Boy.”

Who is Dylan Sexton? He has a reputation of a bad-boy, but it’s a carefully crafted to enhance his brand and increase his notoriety. After all, sex sells! When he meets Vanessa, the photographer he hired to capture the Sexton Spring Fling, the “it” event of the year, he wants her to see the real Dylan, which doesn’t come without complications. Will Vanessa allow herself to get to know the real Dylan Serafin?

I have read this writer’s work before and enjoyed it. This particular book was just ok. I liked Dylan, and I liked Vanessa. For some reason, felt no chemistry between them. No sexual tension. They could have easily been friends.
I’m not sure what it was about the story, but it seemed to drag on and on. I almost felt like I was expecting something that never quite came to fruition. The story was ok, but it didn’t stir up any emotion or feelings in me. Dylan and Vanessa get their HEA, but This left me feeling a bit unsatisfied.
