Wow! What an epic conclusion to Wes and Rain’s story! B.B. Easton really brought her A game, delivering a riveting and deeply emotional story that put my poor heart through the ringer. The emotion was so intense that I felt it everywhere. It’s a tale that is packed with all the feels. It was more than perfect, and I more than loved it!
This post-apocalyptic world they now live in punishes the innocent rather than the criminals. Can you imagine getting sentenced to death simply for giving a friend a life-saving medication? Well, that’s exactly the predicament that Wes finds himself in, leaving he and Rain absolutely heartbroken and devastated. Their love is put through the ultimate test. Will the two of them be able to walk away unscathed?
This is one of those series you’ll savor and come back to time and time again. For me, it’s a series that is permanently ingrained on my mind. One that will be with me always. I wouldn’t just recommend this… I would say hurry and go one-click it now. It is a journey that is indescribably good and definitely one that you won’t want to miss. Five stars for Rain, Wes and Dying for Rain.
Dying For Rain is the 3rd and final book in The Rain Trilogy. This story continued right where the last book left off and I was hooked until the end as I could not wait to see what became of this couple. As we continue on this mind-blowing adventure with Wes and Rain you will be amazed at the characters growth, the world-building, the twists and turns and so much more. This story was so well-written and descriptive, you will feel as though you are watching a movie. Dying For Rain was a satisfying conclusion to this series and I loved it. I would highly recommend this novel to all lovers of post apocalyptic romance.
5 stars for Dying for Rain by BB Easton
One of my favorite things about reading is coming across a series of words strung together so perfectly that the sentence feels meant to be. Right there. In that spot. So perfectly placed that you stop reading, jaw dropped, hand over mouth, and go back to reread that part again. This book had so many moments like this.
“If God wanted a martyr, he shouldn’t have chosen a motherfucker who knows how to pick locks with a plastic fork.” In the context of the scene this sentence provides so much hope and made me feel like he could overcome anything!
BB did a great job of showing Rain’s development through the trilogy. I liked seeing her become the a badass “post-apocalypse barbie” that Wes needed her to be.
I haven’t read a post apocalyptic book in awhile but it made me remember why I used to love this type of story. BB is a great story teller and I can’twait to see what she will come up with next.
Gah I don’t even have any thoughts to put down because I’m still reeling from all the emotional turmoil I’ve been through reading this! I guess, umm, well it’s fantastic, phenomenal, edgy, gritty, sexy, emotional, sad, happy, deep, creative and just freaking lovely! I can’t even believe this is book 3 and it’s all over now! BB Easton took the apocalyptic end of the world trope and smashed it to pieces, picked it all up and put it back together, with some fresh new paint and her own quirky little spin on it, as she does! Lol Honestly I’m in awe of how she is able to jump around genres and still be so amazing but I’m not going to complain about it! Everyone MUST read this absolutely amazing trilogy!
Just when I think I have read BB’s best work, she goes and writes this platinum setting of a finale. My heart is still racing from how intense this last book is. This book had me yelling and white knuckling my kindle until the very end. Once again, I don’t want to go too deep into detail because I don’t want to risk spoilers being shared from fingertips.
After the cliffhanger BB left me with from Fighting for Rain, I prepped myself for one mind trip of ride in this one and I wasn’t disappointed. In this one, Rain learns that there are enemies closer to home than she realizes as she becomes determined on saving the man that she loves. I loved seeing Rain go from being broken and just wanting to be numb to being a warrior princess determined on saving Wes. Wes going from just surviving to actually living, because he had a future and someone to live for. Both of them just grew so much and you can see it in this.
BB has proven herself to be a helluva fantastic author and I know she is just going to keep blowing me away with her talent. In this series she created a world full of characters that I will remember, love and definitely revisit.
****I received an ARC of this book from the author in exchange for my honest review****
Dying for Rain (The Rain Trilogy Book Three) was another great read by BB Easton. Wes and Rain find themselves alive in a post apocolyptic world. The new world has no laws and is the most ruthless place around. The government has started holding daily televised executions for anyone who has tried to save another person rather than letting them die. Rain finds herself pregnant and facing the possible death of the one man that she loves. Rain must decide if she will sacrifice Wes’ life to save others. I absolutely loved reading this book and lovedthis trilogy. I can’t wait to read more by BB Easton.
WOW!!!
what a phenomenal ending to this amazing trilogy! BB Easton did a amazing job with this one. I wanted to read it but I was scared to finish as I wasn’t sure if my heart would be able to take it.
Wes and Rain have been through so much! Their love is a ride or die one, they would sacrifice anything for each other. They deserve more then ever the happy ending of being together. I loved how Rain has become this feisty, fierce girl. Gone is the meek girl that existed before, she has something to fight for now and that’s Wes.
I so want to go back and read the whole series again, back to back without having to wait!
This has been such a great ride with Rain and Wes! Definitely start at book 1! I didn’t want to take care of my responsibilities, I couldn’t put the books down I just wanted to keep reading. BB Easton will take you on such an emotional, shocking and twisted ride with Rain.
There is only one way to conclude a dystopian romantic suspense trilogy and that is for it to be action packed, completely unpredictable, full of suspense, and infused with the most memorable of characters. Dying for Rain, the phenomenal conclusion to the Rain Trilogy by author BB Easton, completely delivered all of the above in the most BREATHTAKINGLY SATISFYING WAY!
No other writer could deliver such an emotionally and psychologically gritty novel. No other author could weave a world so dark, destructive, cruel, and full of amazing twists and turns. No other author could deliver two beautifully damaged and lovable characters like BB Easton can!
Rainbow Williams!!! Man did my love for her grow stronger in this book. In DfR she became EVERYTHING I had hoped for; strong, self-reliant, inventive, selfless, and BADASS! Rain comes to the realization that she wants a future and she wants a life with Wes. She does whatever it takes survive and to protect the ones she loves. Like I said, BADASS!
Wesson Parker (swoon). Wes showed me again why I LOVE/LUST him so much. In this book we see his love, concern, and protectiveness for Rain intensify. We see Wes grow even more into the man he wants to be; the man we all know he deserves to be. Wes continues to fight, but this time it’s not only just for himself, it’s for his future.
The growth of these two characters, separately and as a couple, is something very special to me. Once again, I will say Rain and Wes are two of my all-time favorite characters.
This book shows the reality of what could potentially happen if society as we know it crumbles; the darkness, the terror, and the injustices that would fall upon us. BB describes this decline in humanity so realistically, but with her signature wit and humor. BB also uses this wit and humor to gives us hope. Hope for a better future.
This is why BB is my favourite author! She knows exactly what a reader wants and gives it to them tenfold, but in her own unique way. I cannot even begin to give this book a rating, because no system seems worthy enough!
Congratulations BB on the end of a brilliant trilogy.
P.S. I am so sad to see this story end, but am keeping my fingers crossed that some “very smart people” in the powers that be, will make this into an epically amazing movie! 😉
I have been afraid of this book from the moment I saw the title. Who was gonna die!! Being so afraid of what was to come and yet unable to stop myself from reading it. Pure gold!! BB ended this trilogy with a BANG!! I think what I loved most about Dying for Rain was that Rain really stepped up in this book. Throughout the first 2 books her strength came from Wes, he was her rock and when he wasn’t there she tended to fall apart. However, in this book. Rain was a Bad*ss with a capital B! She found her strength for Wes this time, not from him. She was amazing to read; I loved the evolution of her character throughout. Wes was Wes throughout, he was perfect. I love that character so much and seeing his progression was amazing. From an untrusting man who thought he could keep his happiness to a man willing to risk everything to have just a slice of that happiness, Perfection! As a reader you go through a journey with these two and the last book leaves nothing to want. Action, danger, love, friendship and heck of a lot of anarchy! What else could you possible want? Please read this series so you will understand why I loved it so much! Beautifully written, witty and steamy so much love! Who knew the end of the world could be so much fun!

Overall Grade: ++
Imagine the Rain Trilogy as a transcendent, awe-inspiring concert that overwhelms your mind and soul. Praying for Rain is the opening act; its purpose is preparing for the headliner. It begins to move the blood through your veins, and it raises your interest and emotions, but it won’t match the power of the headliner. Instead, it will spark your soul, waiting for the striking match and tinder of the main band. Fighting for Rain is the headlining band of the concert, and you’re sitting in the front row. This isn’t a Michael Buble or Coldplay concert, though. No, Fighting for Rain holds the driving power of a Fall Out Boy or Paramore or Twenty-One Pilots. Except it’s harder and faster and sets the frenzy of your blood. It’s the strike of the match, setting your soul on fire. And then comes Dying for Rain. Thinking that the concert can’t be any more heated, you land in the mosh pit, filled with the crazed visceral movements of those who have wrapped themselves in the music of the main band. From one minute to the next, you don’t know if you’ll be moved from one part of the mass of bodies to the other. Each moment keeps you suspended, waiting, anticipatory, and overwhelmed by the moment, by the people, by the power of the music. This feeling, this mosh pit, is Dying for Rain. It’s a no-holds-barred onslaught of emotions and moments that drive you forward until its resolution. Every turn of the page leads you out of the darkness of Rain and Wes’s story and further into its light. Yet, in the midst of this frenzy, its driving story, nestled in its burning pages is a powerful message of the power of one, the ability for one person to challenge evil and bring it to its knees. This is the fire of BB Easton’s Dying for Rain and the rest of the trilogy because, at its core, in the very center of the mosh pit of this book, lies the most important message:
Love saves.
From its first page, Easton engages us in Rain and Wes’s story. When we leave Fighting for Rain, we are beset with feelings of despair. Our hero and heroine are separated, and their future looks bleak. Rain’s belief in herself and Wes has waned. Yet, this is a romance with a happy ending, so we hope there is far more to this story. As a reader, you find yourself suspended in Rain and Wes’s story, waiting. During this pause, however, Easton reveals more and more of the background behind this society. Each chapter unveils more of the reality of this world, and Easton couples it with this energy and action that keeps you glued to her story. Every page brought me deeper into the danger of a society that willingly sacrifices its best citizens, the prime of its civilization. Easton has crafted this destitute, morally-bankrupt humanity that seems beyond redemption. Between Rain and Wes’s despair and the bleak future, everything seems lost.
Until love.
Herein lies Easton’s talent. In her acknowledgments, she reminds us that this trilogy is her first fictional offering, which is astonishing because the society she’s crafted in this trilogy, in Dying for Rain, is a hyperbolized version of our own world, emphasizing her craftsmanship. She pulls emotions from her reader through her storytelling that insists that we don’t “check out,” as we see Rain wanting to do time and time again. In the pits of despair, Rain becomes us, and Easton creates her as a reminder that one person can tenaciously make a difference. Add in the depth and gravity of love to the equation, and one person can effect change. This is the power and heart of Dying for Rain and this trilogy. This is BB Easton cautiously and carefully admonishing us that we can be better than our world. That we can love others into loving others. That we can influence our world to be better for ourselves and our future. This message stays hidden until this final book. And its revelation exposes Easton’s talent, her keen craftsmanship of story and character to a greater end than a simple happy ending.
It’s been some time since I’ve read a trilogy that ended in such a way that I wanted more. When Dying for Rain ended, I found myself mourning the end of Rain and Wes’s story already. BB Easton has done something so interesting with The Rain Trilogy that you want to buy a ticket to future Easton books. Dying for Rain is like that mosh pit, throwing us about like a limp doll. Yet, in the end, the crowd disperses, and you find yourself feeling transformed as the shared experience with others reminds you of the love for something bigger than yourself. This is an inescapable truth in Easton’s trilogy.
Well. BB Easton has done it again. Dying for Rain totally knocked me on my butt. It punched me in the gut. It grabbed my heart and hasn’t let go. Wes and Rain are so perfect. The twists and turns this book took I never expected. There were characters I loved and characters I wanted to kill. The plot was very fast paced. This was a quick read that I finished in one sitting. I will definitely be recommending this book to everyone!
BB Easton blew me away with this series! Dying for Rain was an absolutely stunning conclusion to this dystopian romance that had me hooked from the very first chapter!
The way Rain and Wes leaned on each other and trusted one another so fearlessly was absolutely heartwarming. They knew that they only had each other after the fall out of April 23. When they became separated, they stopped at nothing to get back to each other.
When I started Dying, I had absolutely no idea how the author planned to wrap up the trilogy of where the story could possibly go. But I was pleasantly surprised by the twists and turns the read took and how the book ended. I knew BB would find a way to keep the readers guessing and on the edge of their seats and it worked! I can honestly say I didn’t see that ending coming.
Loved the epilogue and wanted more of Rain and Wes’ story when it was over. Their connection was so raw and honest. I could read another 3 books just about them as a couple and family.
Praying for Rain is original and unlike anything I have read before. It completely blew any expectations I had out of the water.
BB Easton has such an undeniable talent when it comes to writing and creating a story that you can feel in your bones.
Praying for Rain is a dark and raw tale about the looming apocalypse.
It isn’t hard to envision the chilling picture that has been painted. How easily everything can turn to chaos and your world could literally start to fall and crumble with the knowledge that the end of the world has a date. How quickly people turn absolutely ruthless and take on take no prisoner attitude. The reality of how fast and far our society could spiral is nailed perfectly.
As for these characters, they are life!
Wes will fight, steal and do absolutely anything to survive. He isn’t going to just roll over, give up and accept this fate. He has spent his whole life taking what he wants and needs to survive and he doesn’t depend on anyone else for help.
Enter Rain.
She has a different approach on how to handle her last days on earth but when there paths cross, plans start to change and they find themselves leaning on one another. She realizes that she no longer wants to be numb to it all. After all, she is a survivor!
This book was phenomenal and I can’t wait to see more fight from Wes and Rain.
A must read!
5 plus stars!
*** I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book. ***
5 stars for the whole series!
Are you kidding me with this crazy, insane, totally original and amazing series! I loved everything about it. I fell hook, line, and sinker from the first page of book one. If you have never read an apocalyptic type of book, let me tell you this is not your ordinary story. I kept telling my husband about the plot line and he had to stop me because he had to pick it up himself. There is so much depth to the whole series. It will make you think about a ton of ‘what if’s,’ so be ready.
4.5 stars!
“When you fall in love at the end of the world, you live every day like it’s your last.”
The Rain Trilogy is complete and Dying for Rain is everything I wanted and more. It jumps right into the action and it’s fast-paced, jaw-dropping, and totally addictive as Rain and Wes fight for survival in a whole new way. I couldn’t rest until I reached the end and when I did, I had a warm heart and a smile on my face.
At the start, we are thrown headfirst into all the feels as Rain must face the truth, that Wes might not make it out alive after the shocking cliffhanger from Fighting for Rain . However, Wes and Rain aren’t ready to let each other go and they really prove their strength in this finale. Their love is everything to them and they are all in. They will fight the world to be together, and fight they do.
“I might be a sheep, I think. But this sheep is wearing wolf’s clothing.”
As they face the unimaginable once again, I love that they don’t give up. Even when the future is bleak, they never stop believing in each other. They grow and mature, and their determination and confidence shine through. There is no room for failure when your other half is threatened and they prove that they can do anything when they have a love as real as theirs.
The secondary characters, whether good or bad, play an important role in Wes and Rain’s lives. These characters are well developed and I loved seeing who came out as an ally and who was really the enemy. There are twists and turns galore, and I had no idea where the story would go. I loved every surprise in the book as we are taken on a suspenseful and exciting ride and given a fantastic conclusion to the Rain Trilogy. I loved it!
An epic conclusion!
I have become so engrossed in this story and I didn’t want it to end. On another note BB knocked it out of the park with this one. This book was everything I hoped it would be and more. With characters that you’ll love, hate, and root for this book will keep you on the edge of your seat til the end.
B.B. Easton is the ultimate genius, literary sorcerer and emotional torturer. Because there is no other way to explain how she affected me by this epic series and this equally epic ending in Dying for Rain. I felt every single raw, harsh, adrenaline fuelled, heartbreaking, inspiring, intense and motivating emotion like I am standing right in the middle of the post apocalyptic world that is imaginary but more real than reality.
Wes Parker is going to die. Because the twisted, selfish and careless government is trying to implement “nature of selection” in a world that is lawless, chaotic and in full on self destruction mode. But Rain is not going to give up so easily. And neither would Wes. All they need is a revolution. But who will help them? Because everyone is trying to save own life. But humanity is not dead. Not completely. And so starts an impossible adventure with unlikely allies that kept me at the edge of the seat, glued to the pages, chewing my poor nails and heart running thousand miles per hour.
The strength of this story is it’s ability to make me one with the characters and their feelings. I absorbed the emotions like a sponge and my heart reacted like those are my own. That’s some sublime experience. Almost spiritual I would say. I was enraged with all the injustice and unfairness. I whooped and cheered and screamed when they were fighting against the institution tooth and nails. I cried for the loss and pain and break down of humanity. I sighed in relief when everything fall into places. I did not think that I could love Wes and Rain any more but clearly I was wrong. They are an unit in my head and their romance will stay legendary. They are brave, stupid, impulsive, desperate, hell bent on beating the odds and strongest persons ever. And it’s not all for love. It’s for a better world. And that makes them more amazing and awe- inspiring.
I salute and bow to B.B. Easton once again for taking the risk of writing the unique, unforgettable and unparalleled Rain Trilogy. Some stories just leave a permanent mark and change your heart forever. This story is just like that. More than romance. More than dystopian story.
Received ARC for honest review
This trilogy pulls you in book after book continuously wanting more and leaving your jaw dropped further and further the deeper you read into Wes and Rain’s story. In the third and final book SO much happens that I honestly didn’t see coming. Rain has grown into such a strong woman and Wes has shown us the man he truly is deep inside. The storyline is strong throughout, each and every character comes to life right off the page, its as though we’re standing right alongside them, we’re in the same room as them. Unbelievable ending that I still and thinking about hours later as I write this review. You NEED to grab this series and see what we’re talking about. This is a must read.
Queen BB has done it again. I have died all the deads . I don’t think it’s safe for a person to experience such high levels of emotion through a book. I felt as if my heart was palpitating and my abdominal muscles were in a perpetual state of contraction; that is how captivating and all consuming the conclusion to this series was. I am so thankful that she put us out of our misery with back to back releases. There’s no way I could have gone multiple months without getting back to Wes and Rain. Their love story will stay with me for a long time. This book (and trilogy) is worthy of ALL the stars!
