Shelli Adler has known what she wanted since she was eleven years old.Aiden Brooks. But Aiden has always had other ideas. After spending the early years of his life without his dad, hockey legend Lucas Brooks, Aiden is determined not to settle for anything less than true love. When he’s ready. Now he’s living the fast life of an NHL bachelor. He won’t give his heart to any one girl, but they can … girl, but they can have his body—all night long.
The party to celebrate the start of the second half of the season was supposed to be no different from any other night. And when a stunning stranger approaches him, he can’t seem to keep his hands off her.
The next morning, she’s gone, and he’s been traded to his dad’s former team, the Nashville Assassins. All of his professional dreams are coming true, but he can’t shake the memory of the girl from that last party. He wants to see her again. Though, after moving across the country—and without knowing her name—that dream seems like a puck destined to miss the net.
For Shelli, her night with Aiden was everything she’d ever imagined it could be, and she’s sure it is all about to change for them. But for that to happen…he would have to know who she was.
The Dump was only the beginning. The Chase is worth waiting a lifetime for.

OH MY! The kids are here! If you have read any of Toni’s Assassins books, these are the kids of the original characters. Holy wow what a great book. I kind of missed a book here and there, but I will definitely go back now. Toni is a great story teller, and has a way with words to just suck you right in and keep you there until The End.
Ohhh after reading Juicy Rebound (Amelia’s story) I couldn’t wait to read Shelli’s story. This was a great story and I just couldn’t put it down! Shelli was so sassy and confident. Aiden was a bit of a mystery to me but he was fun to get to know. He wasn’t the guy that everyone made him out to be. He was sweet, kind, caring, and utterly scared of being hurt. Scared of feeling more for someone else who isn’t family. Then Shelli comes back into his life and before you know it all those walls he has up start crumbling down. I loved that this book wasn’t so overdramatic. I enjoy a bit of drama every once in awhile. But this book felt so real to me. I’ve been loving this authors past few books and I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next!
Shelli has been in love with Aiden since she was a child. He has never noticed her. Until now. Can she walk away without her heart being left behind?
Aiden had no idea he would be traded to the team where team owner is the mom of the woman he is currently interested in. Can he trust her after all that has happened? With their lives and their families so intertwined it is a scare that even the most ready bachelor would run from.
This series is a continuation of great characters from the original Nashville Assassins series. They make for some really hot cameos. I loved the family dynamic. The characters felt very real and their story was solid. I cannot wait to see who else we get to read about in this new series!
***This early copy was given in exchange for an honest review only.
Have you ever read a book and felt such a loss when it ended because you want to know how the rest of their lives plays out? Lucky for you, you won’t ever feel that way about the books from Toni’s Assassin’s series because her Next Generation books are everything you need and more to feel complete. My heart is full because this book really feels like the whole family is home and we are all catching up! I love being able to read about new characters and the kids as grown ups, with little updates from the original characters sprinkled throughout. That being said, you could have never read any of the previous books and your life would still feel a little bit brighter having read Dump and Chase.
I have to address my feelings about man buns. I was completely against them but now I am so torn because if Aiden walked into my life, with his man bun, I wouldn’t even give it a second thought. A hockey player who can sing and play guitar? I’d be planning our future children with baby man buns in 5 seconds! In all seriousness though, I found myself a little annoyed with him at times, but knowing why he was the way he was really broke my heart. Watching him work through his issues with help from his family and Shelli really made me fall for him even more. Speaking of Shelli, I have a total girl crush on her now. She is such a bad a** and I love it! I love when a girl has a little meat on her bones in books, and this curvy bombshell doesn’t hold back on anything. She is all in with Aiden and just the girl he needed to change his ways.
You can feel the chemistry between these two coming off the pages as you read! I feel like the music aspect of this book adds a different kind of subtle steaminess that you feel throughout. Even though Shelli and Aiden knew each other as children, this book isn’t your typical friends to lovers story. Do yourself a favor and get lost in the uniqueness of this book !
Even though this is the first of Next Generation this has got to be one of my favorites of the Assassins series!
To say I have been waiting for Shelli’s and Aiden’s story for a while is an understatement! These two have the angsty I-want-you-but-I-shouldn’t down perfectly from both POVs.
Oh yes ALL the feels here and equal parts of family drama/comedic relief. I loved catching up with characters of the past. So much so I wasn’t sure if I should rip through this story or read it slowly.
Bravo to Toni for creating all these stand alones that are inter-connecting over time. She will always be a one-click author to me.
Short version: Freaking great book! Must read!
Long version:
I’ve loved Aiden and Shelli from the time they were written about as kids, so I had mixed emotions about this. Yes, I loved them individually, but would I love them together? The answer is absolutely! I read this book in 3.5 hours. I literally only moved to get off my couch to get in my bed. I ran out of tea about midway through the book. I wasn’t willing to step away from the book to refill it. This is the best book from this author yet and I am doing my best not to beg her for the next book in this series. I don’t know how long I’ll be able to hold out. I will probably reread this book within the next few months.

If you follow my reviews you will know that Toni Aleo is one of my favourite authors when it comes ot the sports romance genre. She is the reason I fell in love with hockey romance. I love the Assassins series, and couldn’t wait to see more of Shelli and Aiden all grown up.
I loved the complexities and layers to both these characters. Shelli is strong and sassy yet vulnerable, and I loved seeing her interactions with her siblings and parents. Aidan on the other hand surprised me. I didn’t love his character in the beginning, and he’s always been one of those characters I loved, and I couldn’t wait to see him all grown up. Thankfully over the course of the novel, he redeems himself and I got to see more of the Aiden of the past that I loved.
I loved the chemistry this pair share and their banter that is witty, fun and flirtatious.
Dump and Chase has not only Toni Aleo’s signature blend of heat, heart and humor, but strong themes of family and friendship flow throughout. It’s one of the things that continually draws me back into her work, and I loved that we were updated on so many previous characters.
I will be eagerly awaiting the next title in the Nashville Assassins Next Generation, as I can’t wait to see all the siblings stories unfold.

I really love Toni Aleo’s hockey romances. The characters just suck you right in. I love Aiden and Shelli’s families. They’re over the top crazy, but so fun and you can tell they’re close knit. I’m not going to lie Aiden had me skeptical of him in the very beginning, but the moment he gets traded I could see the true Aiden he’s been keeping hidden. I mean the Harry Potter references alone gets him some brownie points. I;m not gonna lie when the characters in this one made those references it made me smile because I’m a Harry Potter nut myself. Aiden slowly, but surely won me over. I really loved seeing Shelli and him together. Though with Aiden’s past he’s very gun shy when it comes to relationships so it’s going to test the limits. This definitely one you won’t want to pass up on. It; delivers on the heat, humor, and heart.
Once Toni Aleo has scored a Goal with her new hockey romance, Dump and Chase. Just the beginning of a new series, The Nashville Assassins, Next Generation. Fast moving, sexy and impossible to put down!!! Love it
I love second generation stories! I feel like even tho they are not their parents, I’m reading more of their HEA anyway. I dunno, I just like it LOL
This one in particular gets more props from me. Why? Because the author has grown/developed ten-fold since we met Shelli and Aiden’s parent is their stories, imo that is. I honestly was not a fan of this author waaaay back in the day. I felt the books were looooooooonger than necessary and the characters spent more time telling me the story from their thoughts than from actions with each other. I like conversational books and I like my characters to interact with each other more. Anyway, I digress. I LOVED THIS STORY!!
Shelli was a strong female lead and Aiden was her equally strong counterpart. The characterization for both of them was on point and felt very real and relatable to me. Aiden put a smile on my face thru this whole thing because he was just such a guy . Ya’ll know what I mean … I spent a lot of time side-eyeing my kindle and screaming “just get out of your head already”!! Don’t take that wrong, this is an excellent read. I mean for me, these guys are young, and everything that happened in the story was true to their age, imo. SO while I wanted to slap him something silly, I couldn’t fault him LOL
You guys have no idea how big a smile I get every time I know this author is publishing something now. She is a joy to read and just keeps getting better and better every book!
Author Toni Aleo has written a heartfelt romance book for the ages. It has all the elements you need for the perfect read either on the beach or wrapped up in a cozy blanket. It has all the feeling, emotion, humor and steam to make you unable to put it down. I have loved and admired Ms. Aleo as an author for many years and Dump and Chase has proven that she continues to create amazing characters and situations that grab your heart and soul and will not let go until the very last word is read.
Another amazing story by Toni. Every book she writes, she creates two characters that you can’t help but fall in love for and root for the best for them! Aiden and Shelli are another pair of characters that you will immediately fall for. Shelli is a mini version of Elli, but is also her own person. Then Aiden is a hot, smart, hockey player. These two take you on one emotional ride that pulls at your heart strings throughout the entire journey. These two have known each other since they were little and their families know each other, it creates for one hilarious, awkward at times situations that you can’t help but want to help Aidan and Shelli. Read their story and you won’t be disappointed!
Book hangover of the best kind! Ashley @ Carolina Chic’s Read
The next generations of Assassins Next Generation Series starts off with a wonderfully written story. I love that not only do we get Shelli and Aiden’s story but we get to see what all the Assassins are up to. Toni does what you expect and give you a roller coaster of a romance story. There are moments you want to make these two see what they have but as the story evolves you grow to love them both even more. I can’t wait to see how this next generation is going to grow up. When will we get the next one?
I love sports romance novels. I especially love hockey romance novels. I’ve read every Assassins book written by this author. Shea and Lucas have always been my fave male characters from those books. So when I saw that this book was about Shea’s daughter Shelli and Lucas’s son Aiden I had to buy it right away and couldn’t put it down.
They grew up together her having a school girl crush on him and AIden babysitting her and treating her like a little sister. Soon enough they both ended up in NYC him playing hockey her on broadway. He had know idea she was in NYC though. They spend one fateful night together where she thinks finally they will be together and he thinks he’s hooking up with another girl. When she realizes he has no idea who she is her heart breaks, after years of loving him she leaves NYC and goes home to her family.
Not long after her mother who is the GM of the Nashville Assassins trades with NY to bring home AIden to Nashville. He takes one look at SHelli and realizes she is the girl he spent the night with, who he has been looking for since that night as he was intrigued by her and wanted to spend another night with her. He’s petrified though of what will happen to his career if her parents find out. They begin a fun game of cat and mouse, and chase after each other but then pull away scared of what could happen.
I couldn’t put this book down from the second i began to read it. It was beautifully written.
Sweet Jesus what an amazing and beautiful story for Aiden and Shelli!!! Funny, witty, sexy as all get out and with all the feels Dump and Chase was epic perfection! This pair are everything I love about Toni Aldo’s characters! This pair is so much a perfect combination of their respective parents. I love how determined Shelli is. She knows her mind and her heart. Oh and my Aiden, that sweet hufflepuff hunting boy grew into one hot a$$, but stubborn man! But while Shelli knows her heart, Aiden has his in perpetual lockdown. Of course connecting with Shelli spins everything on its axis for him. Thank goodness for little brother Asher to be the ultimate truth speaker; and I loved him so much!! From start to finish, this book didn’t want to let me go. I didn’t want it to end either because to say I love this world and all these characters would be a major understatement. Elli, Shea, Lucas and Fallon; seeing them and their stories reflected in their kids was divine. One of my favorite scenes is Shea and Lucas showing up at Aiden’s condo; those men know things. Seriously good stuff here and all Assassins fans are gonna be in love!!
I actually read Dump & Chase twice. The first time was for me to enjoy seeing the next generation of character I love. The second time was for the review. Shelli and Aiden are both children of characters from Toni Aleo’s initial Assassins series. Aiden especially played a big role in his parents’ book. So it was to my delight to see them fully grown and falling for each other. Shelli was a minor character in the series as a child and then played a bigger role in her cousin’s Amelia’s book. We learned that she has always had a serious crush on Aiden and Dump and Chase starts with them finally hooking up. However, to Shelli’s dismay, Aiden does not know who she is and what should have been the start of relationship becomes a one night stand.
Shelli and Aiden’s paths cross when they both return to Nashville. Aiden is back to play for his father’s former team (which Shelli’s mom owns) the Nashville Assassins. Needless to say, Shelli and Aiden are quickly thrown back into each other’s company and start dating in secret. They have a few stops and starts in their relationship and the closeness of their families certainly causes issues. Aiden especially is afraid of relationship due to his parents’ past and he ends up hurting Shelli as he work through that. That being said, I loved the ebb and flow of their relationship and Shelli certainly isn’t without fears either. I loved the interference of their families, not because it helped their relationship but because I love revisiting older characters. Dump & Chase was everything I wanted for Shelli and Aiden and more.
One heck of a ride!!! Shelli has always loved Aiden for as long as she can remember and nothing has changed the older she gets. When they finally get their chance it’s not all hearts and flowers for sure! It wasn’t a smooth ride for these two but definitely worth the ride!!!
I loved seeing the families and shea with his Angina had me laughing so hard!!! Loved seeing the original characters and their families! Cannot wait for the next book in this series. I am absolutely in love with them.
I was so excited for the next generations book and I was not disappointed at all! Also, the cover of this book is gorgeous and probably one of my top favorite book covers.
Another great Nashville Assassins story and even better that we finally get to see the children of some of our favorite characters all grown up! Dump & Chase focuses around Shelli Adler who is the daughter of Elli & Shea(Book 1 of Nashville Assassins Series) and Aiden Brooks who is the son of Lucas & Fallon(Book 2 Nashville Assassins Series).
I love how spunky Shelli is, even when Aiden could be dense sometimes. The chemistry throughout the story is electric. Each page drew me deeper and deeper into the story. I loved how we go to see more of our favorite Assassin characters and see where they are in life event for a tiny second.
I hope this isn’t the last we read on Shelli & Aiden and can’t wait to read what’s next!
Oh Toni has made magic again! We’ve waited for this story for soooo long and she definitely didn’t give it to us easy lol. But it was spectacular!! I really wanted to strangle Shelli and Aiden at times but also squeeze them so tight. I loved the angst and well the steam right from the first chapter was ahhhmazing! I really adored getting to catch up with some of the “old guys” and getting hints at what’s to come. Another 5 star goal scored for Toni!
I Absolutely loved this one!!! It was one of the next generation books ive been waiting for! Aiden was just a cute little boy growing up the last time i read him in Twenty Two. And now he’s all grown up in this book and i was excited to see where he was at in his career. Shelli! Gah i remember when i read about her and knew she was gonna be a good book later on. Im so happy we got both of their stories. Lets not get me started on Shea and Lucas the characters respective dad’s that i loved read many books ago. Lets just say i swooned all over with those two and the father skills they have! But seriously guys this book was so good i didn’t want to put it down at all. She hit it out of the park. Kinda actually made me wanna go all the way back to the beginning of the assassins series to reread where it all began! Make sure you pick this up !
