They were never supposed to find me. Graham, Charles, Jamie, and Steven are back. And this time they want revenge. The four of them are dead if Holland doesn’t pull off the impossible. But all of the guys are more interested in why Holland did what she did to them than the danger that’s knocking on their door. And although she tries to pretend that she did it because she loves the con, that she … because she loves the con, that she feeds off the thrill…
The truth is much more complicated than that.
Holland’s past is a story that was never supposed to be told.
But does her past matter if her future is no longer certain?
And will the only men she’s ever loved be able to forgive her for her sins?
She wasn’t supposed to fall in love with the stupid boys.
But Holland James is a dumb girl.

I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
This was a great book !
In this book, we learn how Holly became Holland.
We have some flashback.
Holly waned us not to like her, but how can we ?
Loved the characters + the storytelling !
It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book!
I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Even though they want to hate her they can do nothing but love her. The men want answers and Holland must find a way to keep them all safe. She loves each man and wants nothing more than her own happy ever after. When the truth is finally found out will the men still hate her, or will they find a way to save her?
This second book brings you right back to where the first on left off. You can’t help but feel for Holland, she has gone through so much and is still fighting but will her heart survive after this? When the men finally find her Holland is not the woman from before. I enjoyed seeing the men reconnect with Holland and it was nice to see them fight for what they want. This is a nice addition to the series. It will pull on your heart and have you rooting for love to win. Emotions are strong and trust must be earned, but Holland and her men are getting ready for the fight of their lives.
Since I am kinda OCD about this since I read the first one, needed to get into this one. The authors do know how to take us away right away. Holland lets us know they are back. I do believe they own each other haha. Holland makes me wonder though why she thought what she did even if they were a job. She does do things that are just what they are. And those relatives boy they made me grit my teeth a time or two. All I know once you get into this you do not leave anytime soon, you scream at the end and now to wait.
Dumb Girl is the second book in the Stupid Boys trilogy. In the first book we were warned to NOT like Holly. Yea, like that was even possible. I think we all failed at that one. Then the ending of book one had us all throwing our kindles against the wall and screaming NOOOOO. Well have no fear, book two does not disappoint. We pick right back up where we left off in that dramatic moment. Holland has no choice but to show her true colors to get out of that one, even if she goes to a length she never has before. Now that the guys have found her, how will they all proceed? What’s the next step for them? Do the guys just want their revenge and to move on and is that even possible now that her uncle knows they have hunted her down?
Let’s dig into the book. Now as far as the timeline goes, we don’t move forward a lot. I said a lot. We do move forward. Now that’s not to say that we don’t get a ton of story though. We definitely learn a good bit in this book. We flash back and see how Holly became Holland. What lead up to her being who she is. That girl, she’s tougher than we ever could have imagined. We also get to flash back to the each guys time in their POV. We learn how they felt when Holland did them dirty. We see how they all came together. Once we have learned all of that, we can move forward and learn what comes next. All of the information we learn in this book is pivotal to the characters.
Now the first book, again, left us with our jaws on the floor. This book does not do that. Thank the good lord because I don’t know if I could have handled that. We now know what we have to do going into the third and final book of the series. I’m so ready for it. I have really enjoyed this series and these characters. These two authors have blown us away with this world so far and I’m ready for number three.
No spoilers of any kind included.
I thought Dumb Girl was good and that’s all I’m going to say about this book.
So I do recommend Dumb Girl but if you haven’t read the book then I highly suggest that you do that way you don’t get confused as to what’s happening and who’s who.
My heart broke reading this page turning book! What happens when truths are revealed? When Holland is face to face with the four men that her uncle forced her to steal from? What happens when the same men begin to get a glimpse of the pain and hell she’s endured since losing her parents. When she’s possibly no longer the bad person they need to make pay. When truths are spilled and emotions get real. Now the fight begins…can they all survive? Will they remain United or is it all for one? And can there be a chance at forgiveness? So much pain, tragedy, and a truly evil man pulling all the strings behind all Holland has done. Here is hoping he’ll eventually get ALL that’s coming to him. The fight has only just begun….
Nothing could have surprised Holland more than the guys who broke her, finding her. More than that she couldn’t let them die at the hands of her Uncle’s minions, so she killed them. Now she has to face the consequences of that action.
Her Politician, Graham Kempner, is the one who searches for her and finds the others. First he found Steve Wolf, her Quarterback, he wasn’t pleased to be reminded of what he lost, but comes around to wanting answers too.
Next he finds Jamie Rawlings, her Artist, the man who is as lost as she is, and still loves her.
Finally he finds her Surgeon, Charles Dorfman, all of them have reason to hate Holly, none of them can stop loving her.
In this book they will get answers, but first they have to leave her to face her punishment for the men she killed to save them.
Jamie is the one who picks her up when she leaves her Uncle’s with injuries from the beating she took. The men are all staying at a seedy little motel and once Jamie has her settled he gets Charles to help with her injuries.
Holland has never shared anything of her past but in order to save them and herself she has to complete an impossible task.
I couldn’t put this book down as it journals how Graham finds the others and her, and also follows Holly through her horrible initiation into her Uncle’s world.
Some laughter, lots of tears, sizzling heat and an ending that had me wanting more.
Another great installment in the Stupid Boys series. Holland has survived so much tragedy. I really enjoyed seeing more of her back story. How she became who she is. I guess we are all a little dumb when it comes to the ones we love. Her uncle is just pure evil. I want to see him die. Truly an amazing story!
Absolutely 100% fell in love with book 2. At first I thought I was going to be annoyed with the jumping back in forth between past and present but it really works well in this series with the way the story is being told. We find out more about Holland’s past and her uncle that puts the evil in devil. I can’t wait to see where this all leads to! I am ready for book 3.
Dumb Girl (DG) picks up right after the cliffhanger from Stupid Boys (SB), boy oh boy, does Holland have her faults & her work cut out for her. Would Holland/Holly continue to run & be weak or would she stop running & be strong with the help of her guys? DG doesn’t leave with a big cliffhanger like in SB, but it’s like a smaller climax. Can’t wait to read the next book, Crazy Love!
I like the series, but… In my opinions, 1) the switching from the past to the present is starting to annoy me somewhat; I get it’s crucial to the story, but sometimes it’s like “okay, I just want the present now”; 2) toward the middle of the book, it’s like “really, just like that, no further convincing or explanation”; 3) it, also, felt rushed like “bad-da-bing, bad-da-boom, bad-da-bam, bad-da-baa
Dumb Girl: A Dark Contemporary Novel (Stupid Boys Book 2) Kindle Edition
by C.R. Jane (Author), Rebecca Royce (Author)
Thank you to the authors for the complimentary eARC. I am choosing to leave a fair and honest review
Another amazing gut-punch installment in the story of con-artist Holland James and her four men, the Artist, the Surgeon, the Quarterback and the Politician.
The story starts with a couple of bangs! Holland saves her men by shooting her uncle’s men who came to kill them all. And just twists from there.
The characters are beyond fleshed out. They are not the perfect creatures that usually inhabit old fashioned romance novels. Ms. Jane and Ms. Royce takes us deeper into their worlds, into how the men reacted to losing Holland, how they are brought together and how Holland became the woman and con-artist she is. Holland is just amoral enough to be an anti-heroine that would give Selena Kyle a run for her money. And the men, they have grown in their own way, in some ways for the better and in some ways for the worst.
For me, Holland’s past was the best part of the story. To see how she was formed and who exactly her mysterious, evil, criminal Uncle is. It was devastating to see the pain she face, but enlightening to know she didn’t start out as a self-described sociopath. The line that best described her in the whole book was “…just because I came in pretty wrapping paper, didn’t mean the gift inside wouldn’t burn.”
There are a lot of shifting timelines that fill in the story and drag the readers deeper into the dark world she has to survive. And into what she must to do to keep all five of them alive.
The writing in itself is just glorious to behold. Deep, dark and twisted.
5 stars out of 5

Oh, how I’d missed Holland and her yummy boys. I’m so glad that they’re all back. I can’t wait to see how she’ll get them all out of this mess. This is a great addition to this fantastic series. All of the characters are addicting. Ready for more!
