A BEAUTY FOR THE SCARRED DUKE 4 Stars
A wonderful romance between Isabella and the Duke of Coldwell, the monster of the county. Excellent plot and great characters.
KIND ELLA & THE CHARMING DUKE: 5 stars
This is a lovely, clean romance. The Duke falls for a refreshingly open, otherwise mysterious woman at a masked ball. How will he ever find her again? The only negative is the obvious Cinderella parallel.
A DAMSEL FOR THE MYSTERIOUS DUKE 4 Stars
Emerson, the Duke with the mysterious background, seems strangely familiar to Georgina. But why? The mystery must be solved before romance can fully blossom.
Enjoyable story with sweet characters. A bit plodding here and there but overall a nice, clean read.

Oh my, rocky road! A whirlwind of emotions and events that pulls at those heartstrings. All the drama, fear, uncertainty, dread, torment and intrigue increases while tension spirals as the plot thickens. Twists and turns abound with unexpected circumstances and unpredictable surprises that make for one incredible experience. The characters are complex and believable with such depth and individuality it’s easy to relate. The scenes are so graphically detailed and descriptive you have no trouble picturing each scenario as they play off one another in perfect balance. Bridget did an amazing job bringing this read to life. Fantastic job Bridget, thanks for sharing this little guy with us.
KIND ELLA AND THE CHARMING DUKE
AN AMAZING TALE!!! A MUST READ!!!
Truly such a wonderful, well written and undeniable one of the best stories I have read in quite some. A great attention to detail and in the times of old with such a broad imagination. If you want, fire, chemistry, humor and finding the one that you’re destined for, you have pickepicked the right book. You are a wonderful and talented writer.
A DAMSEL FOR THE MYSTERIOUS DUKE
DEFINITELY DIFFERENT!!!
Bridget never ceases to amaze me with her imagination and eye for detal. You feel everything the characters feel. A very entertaining tale with all your emotions engaged. Definitely a different twist to the plot. I couldn’t wait to find out what happens next and I had to finish this page turning delight before I could part with this fantastic story. Way to go Bridget.
A DAMSEL FOR THE MYSTERIOUS DUKE:
An excellent story of two children who became friends for life. They grew up together. The little boy Samuel/Sammy/Emerson was brought there as a baby to be a servant in the household of Miss Georgiana/Georgie Jefferies. They were separated when she was nine and he was eleven. Georgie never knew what happened to him. Many, many years later Georgie was convalescing at her cousins estate after a long illness. The whole family including Georgie was invited to a garden party at the home of the new Duke. When Georgie met the Duke Emerson, she felt like there was something familiar about him. Little did she know it was her old friend Sammy under a new name and now a title. Sammy never felt comfortable in his new roll and was unsure that the old duke was even his father. Although he had been reassured by the old Duke that he was indeed his father. Sammy still had doubts and he also wanted to know who his mother was. When Sammy spoke his nickname for Georgiana she knew then he was her long lost dear friend Sammy. Together they embark on a journey to discover his true parentage; This was a shocking, serious, scary, dangerous endeavor. A very good read.
KIND ELLA AND THE CHARMING DUKE:
WOW What a story. I could not stop reading from page one till the end. Then the bonus was the extended epilogue. The story revolved around Ella and her mother. Her mother remarried after her father had passed away and she married a monster with two spoiled and bratty daughters. Her mother only thinking of herself put her husband and his two daughters ahead of her own daughter, Ella. Ella had no one to turn to her mother disavowed her as well as her mother’s husband and family. Dear Ella became close with her ladies maid Violet and her bow William. When Rufus, the duke, decided to marry he arranged a masked ball to meet all the eligible families in the county. That was the evening Rufus and Ella met. Ella knew who he was but he did not know who she was. The rest of the story is about how the duke, Rufus wanted to know the masked lady from the masquerade ball but never found out. Instead he met Ella (without the mask) at her step-father’s home when he went to call upon her step-sisters. The story chronicles their relationship blossoming from acquaintances to friends to more. There was one place where the step-father had been cruel and violently abusive to Ella that it made me almost cry for her. This is not your typical historical romance and I enjoyed reading it. I highly recommend this book.
I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Bridget Barton’s Dukes to Fall in Love With: A Historical Regency Romance Collection is a chance for this talented author to show off her mastery of Regency Period romances. The publisher’s blurb give a perfectly good summary of the three stories in this collection. The first two are take offs from classic fairy takes, Beauty and the Beast and Cinderella. I don’t think the third is but it’s equally fun. I happen to love a well-told Regency tale and to be particularly fond of Regency romances involving dukes, so this collection got me there as well. I wouldn’t have given it five stars, however, unless the actual stories deserved it. That’s easily the case for each of these novels. They are all superbly written with well crafted lead and supporting characters and plots that are addictive enough that I found myself unable to stop reading. They’ve also totally Regency Period appropriate, which I sorta need in a tale set in that period. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The collection definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that this collection is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
