*** A Steamy Regency ***He was a Duke in Disguise. Hiding the truth of his title and wealth to help a friend. Pretending to be nothing more than an itinerant laborer. The last thing he anticipated was saving a comely lass. But then life has a way of working out. Especially for a Duke of the realm. The woman found him special. despite his supposed common status. For the first time in his life. … time in his life. Someone saw the true man. Not his title. What would she do if she learned the truth? A fate he was unwilling to risk.
Miss Ann Stafford. The oldest of three sisters, knew life was hard. A country miss with no prospects and little hope. But a strange man, too handsome for his own good. Kind, strong, and interested in her. This was a possibility she had feared would never be hers.
Yet, even though the man had saved her life. There was some hidden secret. Something that kept her at a distance. The question she had to answer was whether she could keep her heart from becoming lost even if she never knew the truth.

A average story
I truly loved the book till the last chapter. I truly believe the ending makes or breaks a book. This book was entertaining, sweet, and the heroine was strong, yet unsure. The hero was romantic and sweet till he was undisguised. Then he was “The Duke”. Then it ended. What I would have like to see was him realizing that she needed Daniel back. But it ends with his obligatory declaration of love. For that it’s just an ok story.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I would recommend it to others. Note==there are some spelling and meaning errors but did not spoil the story for me.
5star rating for story- great characters and story line but-
NOTE TO AUTHOR– please PROOFREAD this Kindle Edition!
By the time a “MADE” came into a room to help someone I burst out laughing. (It was that or I would have thrown the book across the room in frustration!)
Would love to read more of your work but without all the distractions.
I couldn’t finish this. It was too predictable.
It was okay. Didn’t quite finish it. I knew how it was going to end, why waste my time.
Good story and fast reading when you thumbed thru the sex in a hurry.
I loved this book because I loved these characters. The writing is very engaging and funny in addition to being romantic. I proceeded to read the entire series!
I loved the Duke, Daniel & Ann was endearing – they made a perfect couple by country standards but not so much with the Ton. The journey they traveled to make it to their HEA was filled with scandal, love, romance, kidnapping & some spice but they made it. There were many misuses & misspelling of words, but I didn’t let it get in the way of a fun read & look forward to Ann’s 2 sister’s adventures.
I enjoyed this read & the characters were fun loving – if editing errors bother you, I suggest you don’t read it.
Female main character is too insecure.
Easy read
Very enjoyable book, fun read. Great book to take to the beach.
Feelings are tender and no one likes being deceived. This couple goes through changes aplenty before the end.
Living a Lie, or Living a Fairy Tale
Daniel should have told her, but he didn’t…
Ann should have guessed, but she never dreamed…
There is so much about Duke in Disguise to love. Despite their differences, I really liked both Ann and Daniel. They, like real people, often make assumptions without the proper information. They definitely had chemistry, but a relationship is founded on honest communication. They both needed work in that department. Thankfully, they muddled through and arrived at happily-ever-after, but not without a bit of danger.
G.L. Snodgrass is one of my top five favorite authors. Her stories are well crafted and well paced. I find it easy to get lost within each one, just as a did within this one.
Content alert: There are no vulgarities, but there is some very passionate kissing and one moderately described bedroom scene.
FYI: I also posted this review with Amazon and Goodreads. As a 5-star read, it also made my Pinterest page; Rural Reader – My Favorite 5 Star Reads (https://www.pinterest.com/marthajane65/rural-reader-my-favorite-5-star-reads/).
sweet with that HEA ending.
This is a nice story. Feel good book.
A lesson in communicating with your partner. A hint of suspense. The author really captures the essence of responsibility and friendship of the period. I really wanted to slap some sense into the two main characters for not voicing concerns sooner. Any way not to give the story away, this is a must read story…
I read this book in one sitting, I could not put it down. I ended up buying the other two books about the other 2 sisters. A great read, I really enjoyed it,
Really enjoyed this book!!!!
Good story!!!great characters!!!!
I really enjoy the STORY, and the CHARACTERS, but the grammar and punctuation were so bad, I had to skip to the end, and stop reading the book.
Pretty good read, enough to make me want to read the next book in the series.
