Sweet and Sassy with good story and characters.
An historic romance between a duke and a country girl. Somewhat unlikely.
What would you do if the man you think is your redemption resents your very presence in his life? Well, Ava goes on with her life. She perseveres, even though she is abandoned. You can’t help but love her, and hope that Daniel finally sees the value of his unexpected bride.
I don’t like Steamy books
You know what you are getting with this author. Everything I have read by her is spellbinding and it just won’t let you go until the last page. I read every one of her books when I come across them and have yet to be disappointed. Highly recommend!
Love this series! Feel all emotions- love, funny, tears!
Good story but waaaaay tooooo much sex.
cute
Another great wee romance by a great author. You might just want to keep reading anything she puts out.
A good mix between a strong female character who can stand up for herself and a hero who i s determined to save her.
Another book from Wendy Vella that I absolutely loved! I actually read book 2 in this series before reading this one. It didn’t matter though since these books are standalone stories. I love this author’s writing style, the story flows well, the characters are well developed and engaging. I can’t wait to read more.
A fun story. Great characters with a strong sense of honor (I love that). A few grammatical errors, but still easy to read. Great standalone read.
An average book. Though I am a bit confused as to why her father did what he did. Through it all you don’t really find anything out. Which is a bummer. It does end on a HEA though.
An easy read. I could hardly put it down!
Light reading and fun .Kept me entertained thru the whole book .
Daniel and Eva both have some rather terrible childhood stories and even worse father figures, but their arranged marriage isn’t as doomed as it first appears. Thanks to some well meaning friends and a rather formidable grandmother they have the chance to start falling in love while combating Eva’s devious father and his creepy best friend. Despite the bizarre habit of characters to relocate their attackers to the US, this was a fun read!
The Duke of Stratton, on his death bed, tells his eldest son he has been betrothed to a gambler’s daughter, when she turns eighteen, to redeem the loss of his estate in a poker game. Needless to say, the new Duke of Stratton is very angry and wants revenge. Eva Winchcomb learns she is to be wed to the Duke on the way to the church! Such is the tale of two people thrown together on the whim of a card game. You will enjoy their story very much.
Sweet read.
My first reading by this author and I loved it. He finds out about his forced marriage at his abusive father’s deathbed while she’s told by her vile father on the day of the wedding. He decides to only marry her because honor demands it, while she hopes his anger won’t be as bad as what she’s left at home. Little by little they learn more about each other and ……… Wonderful story, full of heart, the right amount of “heat” and even a set of villains to hate. I will be reading more by this author for sure.
Great book
