Was it a push from above, or just too many shots? We were both drunk, that’s my excuse. He had just broken up with his fiancé, that’s his excuse. But we both want to do it again.Miguel Mancinelli isn’t anybody’s idea of a typical Daddy. He’s twenty-two years younger than Dallas Coulter. He’s physically bigger, but too rough around the edges to take care of anyone, but himself and his nightclub. Yet, … but himself and his nightclub.
Yet, the day they meet everything changes… can they really blame it on the drinks?
Drunk Boy is a steamy short M/M read that will leave you ready to go find your own club owner for the night. If you love stories mixed with amazing banter, you’re bound to enjoy this book.

The promise of the dynamic intimated in the premise is one that I’m definitely drawn to lately. And it doesn’t hurt that I was interested in where the MC’s could have taken the story even without the Daddy/boy stuff added in. I wish the execution had been as on-point as the synopsis, but I just didn’t connect with the characters or the story as much as I had hoped I would.
Miguel and Dallas had a lot of chemistry that they could play off of, but it didn’t really go very far. Their first scene was a good start, it just got muddled, confused, over-complicated, and distracted by the light of day and hesitations that didn’t make a whole load of sense. The secrets were justifiably frustrating as well as the predictable concerns about age, but other than that there were so many moments that I felt like I was missing something, that I’d read too fast or skipped too much, that they were just making mountains out of thin air and not just mole hills. I feel like they just pushed the many small conflicts and misunderstandings way too hard for the length and pace of the story.
The dramatic conflict that brought them together in the first place didn’t really go anywhere either. I would have liked more time actually following an investigation instead of getting lost in so many other details that didn’t push either the relationship or the plot forward. Adding in the side characters and it was just a bit too much for such a short story. I’m vaguely interested in what’s going to happen between Dallas’ contact and Miguel’s brother, but other than that I think there were too many elements fighting for attention.
With some better content editing this could be a great addition to the series. I’d have liked to see them keep more of the playful moments, the sweeter side of things to balance the secret that really is their biggest valid issue, and streamlining the extraneous details and events that detracted from the story’s flow. This wasn’t a bad book, I just had a difficult time connecting with the characters and the story.
This is a hot and steamy quick read about Miguel and Dallas. About a PI and a bar owner. It is best if you were to read the first book to get the full background to enjoy this story. The characters and the storyline are well developed and flowed pretty well.
This is book 2 in this series. It is best to read book 1 first to have the story background to fully enjoy this story. A drunken hookup that leads to more. A hot, steamy and quick read about Miguel and Dallas. A PI and a bar owner. With all their secrets, can these two make it work??
The second book in this series has lots of steam, some sass, some plot twists, and an ending that I didn’t see coming. I really enjoyed Miguel’s and Dallas’ story; it held my attention and had a good plot. Dallas finds himself in Canada as he chases a lead on a big case; Miguel winds up becoming a part of that chase, in more ways than one. While the lead characters do go through a lot in the short span of this book, they do get the HEA I was hoping for! I’m looking forward to the next book in this series.
Thanks to Aubrie for the advances copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. It was a solid read!
this is the second book in the Daddy series. I recommend you read book 1 to fully understand some of this book.
Dallas is a P.I. heading to Canada to find his suspect in the disappearance of his cousin’s money. His fiance breaks up with him because if he gets the money back he wants to donate some of it.
Miguel owns a bar and has one best friend. He keeps his circle small because he doesn’t trust people.
Both men are attracted to each other but their walls make it difficult. When Dallas’s case puts Miguel in danger can he save him and tell him his true feelings? You have to read it.
This is the second book in the Call Me Daddy series and recommend reading Good Boy first to know more about what’s going on (totally worth it).
Dallas comes to Canada to get behind who actually stole his aunts money while she was on her death bed. If that’s not bad enough his finance breaks up with him when he leaves and admits to cheating on him for the last year of their 2 year relationship AND that he pretty much was just in it for money. Needless to say Dallas is feeling down and decides his first stop in a bar so he can get drunk. Miguel, who owns the bars, notices the older man right away and surprise surpise after a few drinks Dallas asks to see the owner of the “joint” then gets the younger man drinking with him and with then both drunk and inhibitions lowered well let the games begin. But when Miguel learns Dallas has been hiding something can he forgive him for using him and not being honest. And can Dallas get over the age difference between the 2 and let his younger Daddy into his heart. I loved the push and pull for dominance between them even though they both knew who’d come out on top. If you’re looking for a fast, hot, dirty read that will have you laughing and also includes sweet moments look no further. With the age gap and younger daddy/older little boy this was a delicious read, I love when author switch up the “normal” tropes.
If M/M isn’t your thing, you may want to stop here, but if romance is your bag, this book will fulfill that need. Dallas, a PI, travelled to Canada to investigate a suspect that he believed had stolen his cousin’s money while she was on her deathbed. Upon hearing that Dallas was traveling and had planned to donate the money, Dallas’ fiancée breaks up with him, saying that he was only in it for the money. Sad, and now single, Dallas walks into Miguel’s bar to drown his sorrows but ends up in a relationship with Miguel. Both men have trust issues, but when Dallas’ case puts Miguel’s life in danger, will Dallas find him in time to tell him that he loves him? Drama filled romance with a Daddy vibe that you just have to read!
Can I just say ?
Drunk Boy is the second book in the Call Me Daddy series by Aubrie Lee. This is a short but great contemporary m/m story that gets steamy, has fun and flirty banter, a touch of mystery/suspense and interesting characters. Miguel and Dallas are fun and hot. I like a younger Daddy and older Boy story.
I received an advanced reader’s copy of the book and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review and recommendation.
