I read my first Outlander book while in Scotland, and was hooked. I love all of Diana Gabaldon’s books – so well researched and the characters are so lovable.
ALL of the Outlander books are amazing. Drums of Autumn is no exception. I’ve read and reread the entire series and would highly recommend them to anyone. The characters are interesting and compelling. For every page you turn you’ll want to turn 10 more!
Interesting long story with a few twists. As usual with Gabaldon stories, the story is quite dramatic at times. Love the characters & the way it ended.
As a book in the “Outlander” series, this book carries the romance and adventure of Jamie and Claire farther toward their destiny in the new world. This book is full of history, love, trials, and tribulations as their adventures continue. After reading it, you are ready for the next book.
What more can you say about Diana Gabaldon’s books they’re all fantastic
I am a big fan of Diana Gabaldon’s writing. She creates a world that is full, detailed and characters that become part of your family….So much so, you miss them when youm finish reading the books!
Loved this book and the entire storyline of books
Diana writes a lot of words. They’re easy to read, though the book is over 1000 pages. Even in paperback, it is big and and rather unwieldy. It could take several days to finish.
Have read the series and plan to start over from the beginning. Have not watched the TV version as I find I am always disappointed with books turned into movies….
This is one of the excellent books in the series. Wonderful characters and drama as well as whimsical splashes.
The author does a fantastic job researching the periods and locations that it creates a realistic reading of what the characters would experience.
This is the book in the series that leads up to the American Revolution. This is an interesting and (I think) pretty accurate rendering of the historical period, which is the reason I like historical fiction. The time travel aspect is creative and adds another element of suspense. I have finished the series and hope there will be another.
Love the series. Awesome characters. Page turner
All of the outlander books are wonderful.
High adventure for historical fiction fans who enjoy a sauce of time travel, alternative history, and light romance with their meaty novels.
What a fantastic journey. I was glued from page 1. There is so much action, heartache, happiness, love, anger, and other emotions through out this book. I felt every emotion like they were my own. The characters are so well written that I feel they are my family and friends. The characters are perfectly flawed with real raw emotions and that …
I love The whole Outlander series. The development of the characters is amazing. I reread these books each time a new book comes out. Wonderful reading.
Outlander is a great set of books. You will not want to put them down. Waiting on the next book.
Well-researched historical detail lays the foundation for vivid characters in this ongoing story that keeps you up at night reading. The writing is so seamless you barely notice it – which is really good writing. You become immersed in the story. The TV series is good. But read the books! You won’t be sorry; there are always little details to …
I think this is my favorite among the Outlander books. What do you think?
