I’ve said it before, but sometimes I’m a bad person. I cheated on my twelfth grade math final, I’ve run countless yellow lights, and I gossip about how hot my kickass best friends are. (Good thing my job as a guild bartender doesn’t require moral perfection.)But there’s bad, and then there’s bad. And I’m not sure which applies to a certain dark druid/wanted criminal/reluctant friend of mine. His … friend of mine. His transgressions include black-magic dealings, kidnapping, and murder, and he’s about to add “revenge-fueled killing spree” to his resume—if I don’t stop him.
Should I stop him?
He and his nemesis are gearing up to tear each other apart, rogues and vultures are converging with their sights on the spoils, and the guilds that would normally stomp them into the ground are under attack. We’re on the verge of an all-out criminal turf war, and my time to decide is almost up.
Who’s the real bad guy … and do I dare stand in his way?

I don’t know how I’ll manage to wait for the next book in this series! This book was wonderful. I don’t know how to describe it without spoilers, but I’ll try. Action. Tension, Romance. A new bounty hunter is in town, Zak is in trouble, Kai’s family decides to bring him to heel, time is running out for Ezra, Tori is desperately trying to save the people she loves and feels so inadequate, and Twiggy (yes, Twiggy!) gets a chance to play hero. I read this book when I should have been adulting and don’t regret a minute of it. I’ll repeat what I said to start: I. Can. Not. Wait. For. The. Next. Book!!!
Amazing delighted fun
Ezra inhaled sleepily. “Tori … that tickles.” Oh shit. My cheeks heated. Feeling him up in his sleep. Nicely done, Tori.
He peered at me warily. “With great power comes great responsibility, Tori.”
“Are you suggesting I don’t abuse this new information?” My grin widened and I tried to wiggle my fingers free. “Fat chance.”
He tightened his hold on my hand. “Let me guess. You aren’t ticklish.”
“Not—one—little—bit,” I sang cheerily.
Ooh, the flattery approach. Nicely done, Robin. I’d been about to tell him he was an intractable buffoon who’d die alone.

I love this series! In this book, all the guys have serious problems going on and The Ghost does too! There has so much friendship between them and betrayal! Life changing events happen that effect the whole group! This book had my emotions everywhere! So much craziness and action!
The narration is terrific as usual! You know the narration is good when you forget it is narration you’re listening to and not different people talking!
I love it! Tori and the guys are wonderful people. They’ll stand by their friends and help each other even if they don’t want to. So many things happened in this book. It’s not just Ezra that is being fought for now, it’s Kai to. What is Zak going to do? I hope that he’s in future books. Bad things can drive us to do anything for revenge. Even if we don’t think we’re betraying the people we care about sometimes it happens unintentionally when plans fall through. It’s my favorite as of now
Heart-wrenching and action-packed! This installment doesn’t disappoint in the least. I’m still reeling from all the twists and turns this story took. I can’t wait for more!
Wow, what an emotional roller-coaster this book was! The author did an excellent job with this series. This book picks up pretty quick from where the last book left off, so a new reader really needs to start with book 1, & I promise- it’s worth it! This book flows fast & furious, I stayed up way to late into the night to finish it in one sitting (needless to say, the next day I was wiped out). So much happens in this book, but it’s like Tori can take 4 steps forward to getting things resolved for life to move on with everything she does, and then ends up pushed back 3 steps to lose ground. Or in other words, solve 4 issues, only to have 3 more pop up. It’s slow progression, with so many twists & turns, it’s so convoluted. Zak makes a return in this book, & man, I don’t know what to think of him now. The rose colored glasses have been ripped off for Tori. She sees that he’s got his own internal demons/issues to slay. I think Tori needs to drop Zak off her list of problems to solve & focus on Kai & Ezra’s issues, and of course finding some new artifacts or figuring out how to get some of her mojo back in the paranormal world, since she has nothing but her crazy human ways, now. Can’t wait for book 7 now!

Tori Dawson is a student, a bartender, and witch. Sort of. Okay, in name only, but if it keeps her employed at the Crow and Hammer then a witch she is. As long as no one finds out about the little white lie she can stay with her guild mage friends and continue with her non-boring life. Speaking of non-boring, when Tori gets word that her frenemy, Zak, AKA The Ghost (or the Crystal Druid depending on who you talk to) is in terrible danger, of course she has to rescue him. Because once Tori gives her friendship, she’s in it until the end. Even if her friend is an asshole most of the time.
Oh man, oh man. This one will gut you down to the bone. Don’t get me wrong, it still has humor and danger and all the things I love about this series, but the ending is…holy shit. The author has really cranked it up a notch and it shows. I have no idea where my favorite characters are going from here, but I can pretty much guarantee it’s not going to be pretty. Though I have no doubt there will be no loss of humor because even in the darkest of times, we still need levity. I’m eagerly awaiting the next book in both this series and the companion one, Demonized. I love this world so much.
