When desire gets this hot, you’d better buckle up… Mary Daniels doesn’t let anything get in the way of her job acquiring rare artifacts for her wealthy boss. But this particular obstacle–huge, hard-muscled, unashamedly masculine–is impossible to ignore. Stuck in a cramped car with Brodie Crews for hours en route to their new assignment, Mary feels her carefully crafted persona–and her … persona–and her trademark self-control–is slipping, and she won’t allow it.
Brodie can’t imagine what secret in Mary’s past has left her so buttoned-up, though he’d dearly love to find out. Maybe then she’d trust him enough to explore their explosive chemistry. But he needs this job, so he’ll play by her rules and bide his time…until an enemy determined to outwit them strikes and he needs to get close–in every way–to protect her. Otherwise they could lose much more than a precious collectible. They could lose it all.

Driven to Distraction is the first book in the Road to Love series. If you have read any Lori Foster books before, you know how awesome her books are. The characters become your friends and reading about their adventures and relationships becomes addicting. In Driven to Distraction, we meet Brodie and Mary. They are polar opposites but spending time together they both realize just how much they have in common. Their chemistry is off the charts! I don’t want to spoil it for you, but I highly recommend reading Driven to Distraction! You will not be disappointed!!
Another wonderful read by Lori Foster, Mary is such a dedicated person with her work and struggles to have a personal relationship, in enters Brodie hot and masculine and sweeps her off her feet! I love their chemistry and throwing in the suspense of the chase and obtaining objects for Mary’s boss, it is a great mix.
Add the awesome dog Howler and his funny antics and you cannot put it down until the end and want it to keep going!! Great job Lori.
I received an ARC in exchange for this honest review.
Lori Foster is one of those authors that takes simple things like words and weaves a story that sucks you in and doesn’t let go until the very last period.
Diven To Distraction is a touching story about a man who finds what he needs without his knowing it. And a woman who discovers it’s not always easy to let go of past hurts.
Mary reminded me so much of myself. Strong, independent, and wounded. Sometimes the things others do make such an impression that it changes how you feel about life, about yourself. Mary was a prime example. She struggled every day to bury who she really is and tried to be someone she thought people would ‘approve’ of.
That is until a man made her want something different. Something better.
I cheered for Mary when she took Brodie’s breath away. It was awesome watching her bloom into who she was always meant to be.
Brodie is, in a word, YUMMY! He’s sweet, smart, sexy and so confident it oozes off the pages and makes your fingers tingle.
He made me giggle and sigh. And the way he decided Mary was the one…sigh.
And let’s not forget about a big slobbery, fuzzy critter that will make you love this book even more.
I love that Lori has a heart for the fuzzy, lovable critters and never forgets to include them in her writing.
This book y’all. It’s a must read!
Thanks Lori for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Lori Foster did it again. I fell in love with Brodie Crew the first time Mary Daniels laid eyes on him. YUM! Working as the courier with Mary riding shotgun life gets interesting. Brodie is a true alpha with a big heart who knows that he found the one, and is willing to be patient to get what his heart desires. Pick up this amazing read to see if Brodie gets his hearts desire! An amazing start to the new Road to Love Series. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
4.25 stars
Lori Foster is one of my go to authors due to her writing style that brings out the relatability of the characters she creates. In this book, the first in the Road to Love series, she has put two seemingly opposites together and when they attract….Mary works for an eccentric millionaire. She takes pride in her job; even though at times it leaves her a little haggard and stressed. She is currently tasked with hiring Brodie to drive her to pick up another wanted item for her boss who is a collector. Brodie is the laid-back mechanic, who owns a business with his brother Jack. He is also a sexy, alpha male who knows how to work a woman. From the moment Mary meets Brodie, she wants to do everything in her power to try and cajole Jack to drive her instead. However, it is a no go and she and Brodie wind up going together and staying in close proximity to one another during their little excursion. It is during their tine together that Mary’s tidy little world gets rocked. Overall, this is one well written storyline although it was a little slow to read and things seemed to drag on longer than necessary. It is filled with a bit of suspense, drama, and steamy scenes. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
I volunteered to read an arc of this book provided by Netgalley.
Driven to Distraction is a wonderful story with suspense, romance, alpha men and head strong women. Mary really tugs at your heart strings with her past and dealing with the way she grew up, and Brodie is the one to help her get over it. The suspense alone was enough to hold your attention. Looking forward to next book in this series.
I received an advance copy for my honest review.
This is the kickoff to Lori Foster’s new series. She’s has started it off with a bang. Whenever I pick a Lori Foster book I’m always remind of why I love her writing. She’s weaves such magic through the pages. Brodie and Mary were delightful. Brodie was so swoon worthy. I mean a man who treats his dog like he does makes him prime book boyfriend material. That was one of my favorite things about the book and the way Brodie made Mary feel about herself. That touched my heart it was so beautiful. I was instantly sucked into this story. The suspenseful elements has me on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I fell in love with Brodie’s family. Makes me wish I could be part of it myself. I also liked the Mary though a little insecure in some instances is such a strong brave gutsy character. With a the support of Brodie she really blossoms. This book also shows you sometimes your family isn’t blood related, but the one you create with the close people around you. I’m really looking forward to the next book in the series. I can’t recommend this one enough!
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Driven to Distraction is a fun and steamy read! You will love Mary and Brodie. Lori Foster has an amazing ability to capture your heart with her characters. You feel like you know them and you are always left wanting more. This is a must read!
Such a fun storyline..Mary has Brodie as a driver for her boss for special pick ups…Brodie likes Mary but she is a bit uptight. Once faced with a dangerous situation Brodie let’s Mary know he cares. Mary is afraid of trust from her past but Mary will find how important it is to have people care and to feel loved!
What a great start to a new series I’m going to absolutely love!!
Follow the story of Mary, who works for a man who acquires rare collectibles and is in need of a new transporter. Enter Brodie, hot as sin, and very good at his job! While they don’t start off on the right foot, they build a solid relationship when Mary is somewhat finally able to open up about her past with her mother.
Brodie breaks down here walls one brick at a time, it’s..sigh…amazing!!!
But don’t forget this wouldn’t be a Lori Foster book with out some danger lurking in the back ground so just enjoy this story, 5 stars and I can’t wait for the next book to come out!! Grab this one asap!
Lori Foster has done it again! I absolutely loved this romance book. The characters were hilarious, real to life and wildly attracted to one another. Once I started reading I simply could not put the book down! I am so glad Foster writes sexy-funny-realistic books to keep me entertained for hours!
This was a great story about opposites attracting – I enjoyed and look forward to book 2 in this series!! Loved the sweet rescue dog and Brodie’s interaction with him too!! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy.
This book was so much fun to read – especially the first meeting between Brodie and Mary. It had me hooked and I couldn’t wait to find out more about these two characters Brodie is at the point where he is confident in who he his and presents a laid back attitude although he is constantly aware of what is going on around him. Mary is all business even though she finds herself very attracted to Brodie. And then there is Howler, Brodie’s dog, who also takes a liking to Mary. Loved how Brodie teased Mary but was also concerned about not wanting to make her self-conscious or uncomfortable.
This is such a great start to a new series. I loved all the characters, especially Howler. Brodie can be rude, charming, sweet and protective. He speaks his mind whether you want to hear what he has to say or not. Mary is immediately attracted to Brodie, but she is also repelled by him because of his outspoken manner and blatant sexuality. She is so buttoned up and given the way she grew up, she tries to be professional and reserved at all times. It is not that easy to stay professional and reserved around Brodie. She is not only falling in love with Brodie, but his family too. She has held herself apart from everyone for so long, how will Brodie get her to open up?
An intriguing read with a unique story. Mary is a prim and proper gal focused on making something of her life. She works for Therman Ritter, an eccentric collector. Her job is to obtain the unobtainable, which at times, puts her in dangerous situations. Therman hires Brodie to provide transportation for Mary. Beyond frustrated with the, laid- back, seemingly carefree Brodie, she refuses to let him interfere with her life goals or get the best of her. She has deadlines to make and rules to follow. She will NOT get side tracked by his devilish good looks.
Through their travels together Brodie learns that Mary hides behind a sharp tongue and baggy clothes, all which intrigue him more each day. He’s determined to discover what she is hiding in her life and underneath her clothes. As the danger increases Brodie finds himself unable to just provide transportation, he steps in to provide her protection enabling us to discover he’s not the laid-back careless person we think. The traveling confinement enables their relationship to build and we thoroughly fall in love with the characters. Mary’s a hot little firecracker who will put Brodie in his place whenever he steps over the line. With his desire to learn more about her and their sizzling chemistry, he steps over the line A LOT. This gives us some hilarious entertainment and smokin, hot tension!
Through it all we discover what makes each character tick and watch them grow as they encounter dangerous and challenging situations. I thoroughly came to appreciate each character. I don’t want to give spoilers, but I really liked the end!! This is a highly enjoyable story containing suspense, humor and steam!
I read an ARC of this book via Netgalley. My fair and honest review is voluntary.
Mary Daniels works hard for her boss, but this time she has to work with Brodie. Brodie makes her self control slip and she hates it, but makes him play by her rules. There is someone after them as they make the delivery to where it supposed to go.
This is a pretty good story, it took me awhile to get into it. I liked the part where the goon thought he and Brodie were alone and wanted a good fight, not realizing Mary was there too. Mary was able to sneak up on him and help Brodie win the fight. Knowing that he was caught he just laid on the ground until the cops arrived.
Overall I really enjoyed this book. It took me about half the book to really like Red. She is very cold at the beginning of the book but as we get to know her, you learn why she is like she is and that once she found love her real personality and warmth come through. Brodie is lovable from the start and melts Red’s cold heart. I love all of Brodie’s family and his business is interesting. I look forward to more from this series.
*I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.*
Such a great new series. This series is about a pair of hot courier drivers.
Brodie had a carefree but always for the underdog type personality. From rescuing dogs in need to helping someone who is too uptight in his estimation.
Mary has issues from her past and a boss that is a little eccentric.
Lots of action.
Can’t wait to see what happens next.
Driven to Distraction, book 1 in the new Road to Love series started off perfectly. Mary & Brodie’s story has me anxious for more, especially that brother!
Mary appears to be uptight and business focused. She’s there to get the job done for her boss and that’s it. Her boss usually picks decent drivers but upon first meeting Brodie Crews she’s certain he picked the wrong brother. One is professional the other anything but.
Her boss only wants Brodie so she’s stuck with a overly sexual jerk for days on end.
Brodie on the other hand is more show than go, yes he’s a stubborn jerk at times but like Mary, the cover doesn’t show the full extent of what’s inside.
Brodie is convinced he can change buttoned up little Mary into something else, the key is finding out what makes her tick. Once he does he’s not as much concerned about unbuttoning her has he is protecting her.
Driven to Distraction has a bit of suspense, a ton of snark and everything that you love about a Lori Foster book. Looking forward to the second book in this series.
Driven to Distraction is the first book in the new series Road to Love by Lori Foster, and from the very first chapter I loved it, and I think it was because it reminded me about the Visitation series, where there is suspense, but the main focus of the story is on the characters relationship and I absolutely loved it.
When it came to the characters you cannot help but have your heartbroken by Mary Daniels and the harshness of her childhood, or find Brodie Crews antagonism of Mary amusing, but his desire of her, just as she is, heartwarming and really, it’s what every woman wants in her life.
The story is wonderfully simple, as Mary is a facilitator for her collector employer and Brodie is the newly hired driver, and from the moment that Brodie and Mary embark on their mission, they are pursued by a bizarre rival collector and his violent henchmen.
Overall I really enjoyed this book, it had a simple which gave you the opportunity to focus on the characters and that made a wonderful change from a lot of books on the market now.
I give Driven to Distraction 5 stars!
