When desire gets this hot, you’d better buckle up… Mary Daniels doesn’t let anything get in the way of her job acquiring rare artifacts for her wealthy boss. But this particular obstacle–huge, hard-muscled, unashamedly masculine–is impossible to ignore. Stuck in a cramped car with Brodie Crews for hours en route to their new assignment, Mary feels her carefully crafted persona–and her … persona–and her trademark self-control–is slipping, and she won’t allow it.
Brodie can’t imagine what secret in Mary’s past has left her so buttoned-up, though he’d dearly love to find out. Maybe then she’d trust him enough to explore their explosive chemistry. But he needs this job, so he’ll play by her rules and bide his time…until an enemy determined to outwit them strikes and he needs to get close–in every way–to protect her. Otherwise they could lose much more than a precious collectible. They could lose it all.

What a great start to a new series I’m going to absolutely love!!
Follow the story of Mary, who works for a man who acquires rare collectibles and is in need of a new transporter. Enter Brodie, hot as sin, and very good at his job! While they don’t start off on the right foot, they build a solid relationship when Mary is somewhat finally able to open up about her past with her mother.
Brodie breaks down here walls one brick at a time, it’s..sigh…amazing!!!
But don’t forget this wouldn’t be a Lori Foster book with out some danger lurking in the back ground so just enjoy this story, 5 stars and I can’t wait for the next book to come out!! Grab this one asap!
So excited to take a trip along with the Road to Love series! Brodie is such a great character you can’t help fall in love with him right along with Mary. Lori Foster never disappoints and this will be another series I will follow until the end. I can’t wait for the next book to come out! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
5 Star review of Driven To Distraction (Road To Love #1) by Lori Foster
I know it is hard to believe but Lori Foster is a new author to me. I have no idea why that is but I know I will be looking at her other books as soon as time permits.
From start to finish this Ms. Foster had me hooked and I couldn’t put Driven to Distraction down.
Brodie Crews is attracted to Mary Daniels but she has no interest in him, totally focused on getting the job done. However, Mary is tempted by the sinfully hot Brodie and doesn’t know how she will manage to ignore his flirting. These two are total opposites and yet their attraction is explosive. The chemistry between them was off the charts and I could not wait to see how the story unfolded. When danger strikes, Brodie will do what it takes to protect Mary whatever the cost. There is mystery, suspense, and some smoking hot scenes which will keep you invested in the story well into the night.
The writing was strong and I really liked the characters of Brodie and Mary. This is book one in a brand new series and I for one cannot wait to see what Lori Foster has in store for the next book.
I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.
Driven to Distraction is another great Lori Foster book. I have to admit that this story was not one of my favorites; I just had a hard time connecting to the story line and the characters. The story was well written and had great action, romance, and plot but for me it took a while to get into the story. The last third of the book was my favorite and I’m glad I continued to read the story. I’m still giving 4 stars because the book was good and the writing was great it was just not my personal style. I am looking forward to the next story in this series if there will be one.
4 stars—DRIVEN TO DISTRACTION is the first instalment in Lori Foster’s contemporary, adult ROAD TO LOVE erotic, romance series. This is mechanic Brodie Crews, and acquisitions manager Mary Daniels’ story line.
Told from several third person perspectives including Brodie and Mary DRIVEN TO DISTRACTION follows the building romance and relationship between mechanic Brodie Crews, and acquisitions manager Mary Daniels. Mary Daniels works for eccentric billionaire Therman Ritter, a man who collects oddities and strange items that require his own private ‘courier service’ to ensure prompt and immediate delivery. Mary Daniels has been tasked with ensuring their delivery including a ride along with Therman’s new courier Brodie Crews. What ensues is Brodie and Mary’s developing relationship on the road, and the potential fall-out as the couple are targeted in a game of one-upmanship, when Therman’s collection is wanted by a competing collector.
Mary Daniels is a conventional woman; an uptight female whose clothing is more for armor than attracting attention. When our heroine is assigned to hire Brodie Crews, the attraction is immediate but Mary doesn’t mix business with pleasure, and everything about Brodie screams all kinds of trouble. Brodie Crews sees beneath Mary’s attempts to hide but protecting Mary will become his number one priority when the couple becomes fodder for some illegal collectors.
The relationship between Mary and Brodie begins as a business arrangement in which Mary struggles to accept Brodie’s gruff exterior and he-man attitude. Quick to judge, Mary battles her attraction to the man with whom she would fall in love. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and passionate, without the use of over the top, sexually graphic, language and text.
We are introduced to Brodie’s brother Jack Crews; their mother Rosalyn Crews; Jack and Brodie’s secretary Charlotte, as well as Brodie’s dog Howler, and Gina, a woman who is hoping for a chance with our story line hero; billionaire Therman Ritter, his PA Jolene, housekeeper Vera and chef Burl. The requisite evil has many faces.
DRIVEN TO DISTRACTION has a little bit of everything: mystery and intrigue; family and friendships; fun, romance, fighting and falling in love. The premise is engaging and inviting; the characters are spirited, animated and sassy; the romance is spicy and arousing. DRIVEN TO DISTRACTION is a playful, captivating and energetic story line.
Loved loved loved this book and the characters. Lori Foster has done it Again!. Bridie and Mary’s story is funny, nail biting, romantic and definitely a page Turner. Wanted to get to the end, but didn’t want to. Can’t wait to read Jack’s story. I received an ARC in exchange for a true, honest review.
I’ve been a Lori Foster fan for years and every new book she comes out with only reinforces why. Driven to Distraction is the latest story that I’ve fallen in love with! Brodie is the PERFECT hero! He’s strong, handsome, super sexy, honorable, and kind to animals. What more could any woman want? Mary has issues related to her past that have shaped her personality and made her into a strong woman that is determined not to let anyone get close. She doesn’t reckon with someone like Brodie though. He proves to be invaluable in more ways than one. It’s especially sweet the way Brodie interacts with his dog, Howler. I’m really looking forward to the next book in this series, Slow Ride!!!
I definitely recommend this book, and all of her other books, too!
I received an ARC of this story and this is my honest review.
Driven to Distraction is the first in an exciting new series by Ms.Foster. This one finds Mary Daniels reluctantly working with Brodie Crews. He isn’t exactly what Mary was expecting when her boss picked a new driver for his business. They have to pair up to acquire strange and eccentric artifacts for his unusual collection. Simple, right? If you know this author, you know that it isn’t always that simple.
I loved this latest offering. I know when I read a Lori Foster book, I am certain to find a new book boyfriend. My list from her books alone is long. Brodie has now taken place on that list. I loved him. He seemed kind of like a mess at first glance, but he ended up being a caring, protective and heart-melting guy. He was my favorite. I had a harder time warming up to Mary. She was pretty uptight and I didn’t care for the way she treated Brodie at first. However, once I began to learn more about her background, I warmed up to her. I was rooting for her to open up her heart to love and find her family. They ended up being perfect for each other.
The other characters rounded out the book nicely. I loved Brodie’s family, especially his mother. She was great. Can I just mention Brodie’s relationship with Howler. I swear my heart melted very time he fed the dog. The ritual was too cute. There is a bit of a mystery and some action to add to the story. But the romance was the best part of it. I definitely recommend this one when it comes out later this month. Make sure to check it out!

At Mary Daniels first glance towards Brodie Crews, she is completely breathless. In his own way, he is just as affected. She meets him when she hires him as a transporter for a job to acquire rare artifacts. Things get started off on the wrong foot, however. Brodie has a hangover and Mary wonders that he hardly seems responsible enough for the job she needs him to do.
Mary is flummoxed. When she approaches the Mustang Transport company she is immediately worried for her job. It is very important to her and now she is forced to work for a potent guy determined to call her Red. She is serious about what she does and now it appears to her that Brodie could easily upset that.
In many ways the two seem complete opposites. She is conservative and apparently trying very hard to protect her inner shell. Brodie is nothing like her. He seems very outgoing and appears to not take anything too serious. So, Mary’s job and her protected way about herself just might be at risk. The fact that they both share a powerful attraction to one another further complicates things.
Mary’s employer wants unique items and things become very hairy for her and Brodie. Mystery and danger begin to develop in this sizzling romance. Although they spend even more time together due to these difficult circumstances it certainly poses no hardship. It is very clear that Mary and Brodie are perfect for each other in every way that counts.
My review would be remiss if I did not mention Howler, Brodie’s dog, as well as the background behind that. Brodie’s relationship with Howler is absolutely wonderful.
Leave it to Lori Foster for writing another exceptional book that combines sizzling romance, suspense, humor and overwhelming sensitivity. Driven to Distraction is a wonderful start to another new series. It is rather exciting to wonder which character from this engaging book will get their own story.
Many thanks for this ARC to review. This is my honest opinion.
Great read! It’s what happens when opposites come together! Mary goes to hire a courier for her employer, she’s tried her hardest to be professional but when her target is standing in front of her, sweaty half naked with a woman draped all over him not what she wants to deal with. Brodie just about lost it when the most gorgeous creature came towards him and then offer him a job well he wasn’t quite on his best behavior, after all teasing Red was fun. She’s straight laced and buttoned up, he’s in her eyes rude and crude.that’s what makes opposites so much fun! This read is full of humor, sexiness, steamy chemistry and a little intrigue! It has it all!
Mary Daniels was determined to make a better life herself by herself. Working for Therman Ritter a wealthy collector was a dream job for her. Meeting the new driver Brody Crews was the one thing she couldn’t control in her life. Not one to let people in or close to her Brody was her one weakness. One look and Brody was hooked on the closed off Mary. Yet he was determined to break down her walls. The chemistry between these two was off the charts. Can’t wait for the next book in this series.
Mary Daniels’s job is acquiring rare artifacts for her wealthy boss. Brodie Crews is the man hired to be her driver in her acquisitions. Her carefully crafted persona is slipping and her hidden past is in danger of being revealed the more time she spends with Brodie. He can’t imagine what it is in her past that has her so uptight but would really like to find out. An unexpected enemy has them in danger of losing the artifact and their lives. Will they and their romance survive?
I enjoy everything that Lori Foster writes and this is no exception. A truly enjoyable, fun read.
Wow! Lori Foster hits another home run! This is book 1 in the Road to Love series. Like all Ms. Foster’s series books, it can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone.
As always with Ms. Foster’s book, the sex scenes are hot. The character development is the best part, however. The people become real and we understand their motivation. The relationships within the family (by blood and by inclination) are believable. The humor adds to the fun. Driven to Distraction is un-put-downable!
Many of Ms. Foster’s recent books include characters from earlier books. This book is a new series with new characters in a new setting. The hero, Brodie Crews, however, is just as wonderful a character as any of our old friends.
Mary Daniels works for a serious collector. Her job is to go to the seller, check for appropriate documentation, and pay for the object and its documentation. She has had this job for a few years. Brodie is hired as the new driver. At first look, she does not like him. He arouses strong feelings in her.
Over the course of the book Brody and Mary become closer and we begin to understand what makes Mary so uptight. Also over the course of the book strange, dangerous situations happen. At the climax we learn the identity of the collector who has been causing trouble and we get our Happily-Ever-After.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book.
This book was was Lori Foster all the way! You got a smoking hot guy Brodie and his adopted dog Howler. Our heroine Mary is a hot uptight woman who didn’t know it or her self worth due to childhood events. There is suspense, great main characters and secondary ones that we’re awesome. They had me laughing out loud and gave me a couple of watery moments. The chemistry is off the charts and once they go for it it’s combustible. I’m looking forward to his brother book and hoping we get a book for Charlotte too. This book gives you non stop action from the minute Brodie and Mary start their trip to acquire a rare item for her boss. It’s a great read and one I enjoyed. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC give by NETGALLEY of this book and the view are solely mine.
LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would!
I loved Brodie right from the start! He’s that quiet hero that you instantly fall in love with. His relationship with Howler is priceless and will melt your heart. Especially when you read how they find each other! Those two had me laughing out loud! Brodie’s family means the world to him and you will love how they all pick on each other!
Mary is uptight, stressed, independent and stubborn. She doesn’t know how to be anything else and feels she isn’t deserving of more. She keeps everyone at arm’s length. Then she hires Brodie’s courier service.
Their trips will keep you on the edge of your seat! They bicker and disagree but when Mary finally lets Brodie get close, they SIZZLE!
It was hard not to read this book in one sitting! You get everything from Lori! Well developed characters, plot, mystery, danger, love and family! Of course my heart belongs to Howler!
This book does not disappoint and will literally drive you to distraction because you won’t want to do anything else until you finish it!
I’m ready for Slow Ride and Jack!!
I received and ARC from NetGalley and this is my honest review.
Mary’s eccentric boss & his unusual collections created an interesting, unique and entertaining storyline. I was hooked from the very beginning and I loved how Brodie & Mary’s story unfolded. Brodie’s relationship with his dog, Howler, was adorable! The alpha hero’s interactions with his big lovable dog added something extra special to the story. All of the secondary characters were great, as well. I especially loved Brodie’s mom. She was my favorite!
Driven to Distraction is an awesome start to The Road to Love series. After reading the sneak peek of Jack’s story, I can’t wait to see how that situation turns out!
I voluntarily read & reviewed a complimentary Advance Reader Copy from NetGalley.
After reading Lori Foster for over 10 years, I didn’t think she could surprise me but every new book of hers I’ve read I am constantly surprised that I can still fall in love with her characters and her world. And Driven to Distraction is no exception. Book 1 in her new Road to Love series is absolutely amazing! Everything about this book is fresh and new. Brodie, the hero, is my new book boyfriend. He is absolutely delicious. He’s sexy as hell and can be downright dirty at times. I absolutely love him. But when you see how he is with Mary, the heroine? *Fanning myself* It is hot! And totally fun too. I loved the interactions between Brodie and Mary. They had me constantly smiling. Their story was really, really fun to read. Although Mary’s past did pull at my heartstrings. Made me want to give her a big hug. And of course, Lori Foster’s trademark action and mystery was present which made this book unputdownable for me. I can’t wait to see what’s next for this series. I’m so excited! This may be my new favorite book by her.

What a great start to a new series by Lori Foster! I have been a long time fan of Lori Foster’s writing. This one was different from other Lori Foster books in a amazing way. I loved the relationship between Brodie and his dog, Howler! The story was just the right combination of suspense, romance, funny and happily ever after! I can not wait to see what is next with this series! I received an ARC from NetGalley and this is my honest review.
Okay, I have to start by saying how much I loved the relationship between Brodie and Howler! The love that Brodie has for this abused pup was so heart-warming to read. From baby talking to pretending to eat people food to get Howler to eat to making a harness to keep him safe in the car was adorable!
As for Brodie himself, I loved him! His first meet with Mary was not the greatest, he was hungover and had a woman all over him (he did not want her!), but something still grabbed Mary’s unwanted attention. As the story moves on you realize, as does Mary, what a great guy he is. He is protective over people (and a dog) he cares about and will do whatever he has to to keep them safe, and Mary is now in that circle. I loved how he saw behind the brick wall Mary had built around herself and knew what he had to do tear it down.
Mary had a very tough childhood that made her not trust anyone but herself. She hid herself so she wouldn’t get noticed, she had a wall to keep everyone away. But she was a survivor. I loved reading about Mary’s emotional growth, she went from being afraid of wanting more from life to her HEA with Brodie. She finally allowed herself to feel the sense of belonging, acceptance, and love that the people around her had for her.
This story had so much I look for in a romance novel, a heroine who grows emotionally, a sexy and manly hero, great chemistry, a little action and suspense, humorous banter between the two characters, great secondary characters (that I can’t wait to read about!) and of course an adorable pup.
All in all a great read to the first in this series. I can not wait to read Jack and Charlotte’s stories.
I received an ARC of Driven to Distraction from Netgalley, and this is my honest review.
