Career-driven attorney, Jill Parnell, has worked long and hard to become a partner at Corbett, Gray, & Shaw. When the coveted position is given to the boss’s nephew, she does what any intelligent employee would do—attends a colleague’s wedding and schmoozes a high-powered partner at another law firm. Her potential new boss has only one condition for her, that she demonstrate a personal life … personal life that will support a thriving career. Pretending to have a boyfriend is outside Jill’s comfort zone, but she invites the best man to act the part and Ryan is all-too eager to play her significant other. Sparks fly between them, but she reminds herself she’s only driven to date to get back on the partner track.
When Jill discovers Ryan is the lawyer who stole her promotion, her charade threatens to implode. But breaking off their pretend relationship could cost her the job of her dreams. And the more she gets to know Ryan, the more she’s tempted to tame the bad boy, and make him her own.

Absolutely delightful. Jill had so much growth in such a short period of time. The cameos of other members of the series were nice touches. The need to ignore rumors was made patently clear. While it stopped short of an actual HEA, the story does give a solid indication that’s in the future.
Boy if you need a book to read for the fun of being entertained. … this is the bo ok you should read. I found it just gave me a lift. Susan Hatler is now on my favorite to read list.
I loved Jill and Ryan..the dynamics and chemistry between them is awesome. Jill is a driven career woman that doesn’t take well to being surpassed by a man for a promotion…from there it’s all down hill and all bets are off…I loved it.

Can Lawyers Really Fall in Love?
This is a sweet and clean Romantic Comedy. It is novella length and it just flies by. The plot is fun and inspiring. The characters make the reader wish they were real. This author always puts together a fine story with all aspects ringing true. I received this ARC book for free from Booksprout and this is my …
This is part of the Better Date Than Never Series and is a cute read. Jill is devastated when she’s overlooked for a big promotion at her law firm. So when she’s at her cousin’s wedding she cozies up to a competing firm. Their main concern is that she is a workaholic and lacks balance in her private life. So she grabs the cute best man and …
I love the premise of the story. Jill gets looked over for a partner position for the boss’s nephew. So she goes to a wedding and talks herself up to a partner at another firm. That firm wants her to have an upstanding social life. She askes Ryan the best man to be her pretend boyfriend so she can keep her dream job. Imagine her surprise when …

This story was a fun one. It was inspirational and had a great moral. The characters were amazing. The way Jill reinvents herself is cool. I liked following the way the story went on. The story developed and progressed well. It was devoid of bad language and mature scenes. Ryan is a great guy. I’m happy he and Jill found …
Sexy, fun, action packed adventure filled with engaging and exciting charters, witty dialog, emotionally thrilling turns and undeniable passion. Really enjoyed this exciting journey from beginning to end.
Life is like the scales of justice. Balance. Jill was expecting to become Managing Director in her law firm when her boss left. It had been promised to her, but the one partner who she later finds out is a male chauvinist, hired the nephew of another partner over her. That weekend she goes to a friend’s wedding and meets a groomsman named Ryan. …
In my opinion, Ms. Hatler is one of the best writers of contemporary romance. I snag her books as soon as they come out.
7 Driven to Date (Better Date than Never Series Book 7)A Woodward Systems Corporation Romance by Susan Hatler
4 stars
I purchased the short novella Driven to Date (Better Date than Never Series Book 7) by Susan Hatler and this review was given freely.
Diverging slightly, this novella involves the coincidental and ironic romance of lawyer …
Action between sheets and and streets.
It’s chick lit, so don’t expect too much, but it was a cute and fast read. It was nice because it wasn’t over the top raunchy (some chick lit books are). It’s predictable and goes where you’re expecting it too, but the characters are likable enough.
It is a silly fun read. It was unpredictable, which was a nice surprise! Inspirational at times.
A fun read. Obviously all will ‘work out’ in the end, but a fun time getting there. 4 STARS
It was fast reading, entertaining, funny at times with a feel good ending.
Susan Hatler books are always entertaining.
Fun, and what I would call “romantic,” which includes romance but not physical intimacy, Cute ideas and variation on the relationship-with-your-boss stereotype. A nice easy pleasant read without needing to wade through a bunch of sensuality. Not what I would call “realistic,” as far as the relationship development (though the job situation …
Quick read, fun
