Driven is sexy. I couldn’t put it down, read it in one afternoon … much to the boss’s chagrin.. ~ T.J.One man on a mission. One hard-working woman. One bet that’ll make sparks fly… making his latest development a success, he’ll do what it takes to convince the sultry, stubborn woman to sign on the dotted line.
Kayla Phillips is holding on by a thread, on the verge of losing the farm she inherited from her grandfather. It’s only a matter of time before she’s forced into foreclosure, but there’s no way she’s selling to Falco. His good looks and sex appeal might work on some women—okay, it works on her too—but she’s not about to sell to a man intent on bulldozing her family’s legacy.
A war of words turns into a wager—and Kayla’s only chance to save the farm. All she has to do is prove to the billionaire that he can’t handle two weeks of living the life of a farmer. She never expected the burning desire she feels whenever Mason’s around. But are his feelings for her genuine, or just a ploy to get what he wants? With her heart and the family business on the line, will she risk it all for love?
Please note: when the clothes come off, the bedroom door stays open. Also, characters use profanity, because sometimes, “gosh darn it, you big meany-head” just doesn’t cut it.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author, but it won’t be my last. I fell in love with Mason and Kayla. They really were made for each other and I wanted to see them get their HEA.
I enjoyed the set up of this novel, and to be honest it was what led me to downloading it in the first place. Mason wasn’t what I expected, or what Kayla expected. The first time we meet him in the story he comes off cocky and not all that likable. As soon as the bet starts, however, we get to see another side of him…a side that is a lot more down to earth.
For me, this book was close to perfect. I loved the story line, the characters, and the editing was good too. There were only two things that knocked this book down from 5 stars to 4.5 stars. About a quarter of the way into the book there is an issue with an employee. The set up is there, but nothing ever comes of it. At the time, it seems as if it will be used to built another part of the story, but in the end it just sort of goes away. My second issue had to do with a misunderstanding toward the end of the book. While I understood it to a certain extent, the jump was quite sudden. I would have like to have seen a little more building up to it.
Even with those small issues, and yes, they were small, I loved this novel. It was a great read and I found myself picking it up whenever I had a spare moment.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a sexy billionaire romance with a twist.
Excellent book!! First time I have read Lori Sjoberg. I plan to read more of her books.
Easy to read and good characters
Love this series of stories and look forward to the next one.
A bet that had a grand reward. Read as two people who had everything they wanted in life, until sparks started to fly. The twist and turns of the story will have you staying up late to see what happens next.

Family
This was a great story of Kayla trying to to keep her family horse farm going with help from her little sister and her brother is away in the Marines. Mason wants the farm for his development but she won’t sell, so he goes to her we one job and places a bet with, but it means hard work.
I enjoyed reading this book and will try to read more books by this author!
Great story keeps your interest the entire book. Characters were so real. Real life situations and wonderful solutions.
Mason Falco is determined to buy that last farm from it’s resisting owner. He even makes a bet with her that will bring him away from his office for two weeks.
Kayla Marie Phillips was an up-and-coming rider heading toward Olympic fame before an accident destroyed her chances. Even though, she loves her family farm and promised her grandfather to do everything possible to hold that farm in the family. But due to medical bills that followed her accident, she barely scrapes by. She declined every offer from Falco Enterprises Inc. to buy her farm, but after the bank denied her the new mortgage agreement, she is devastated. Therefore she accepts Mason’s bet because she knows, she has (financially) nothing to lose.
During the two weeks Masons works at the farm, his mind changes when he falls in love with Kayla and sees how much this farm means to her and her family.
After a few obstacles produced by his brother, Shane and his lawyer, Ethan he manages to win her back for a second chance at a HEA.
Pleasant read. He wants her ranch to develop it. They make a wager that if he can work it for two weeks she will sell it. It was in her family for generations. Not much to the story
Hopeful
I read so much that I often don’t remember much about any one book, but this one kept my attention and the characters were realistic and romantic, which I like.
I also enjoyed the fact that it was not a cookie cutter story to other writers’ books. Sometimes they sound so much alike that I think I have read one and then I start to read it and realize it is a slightly different version and I have not read it. I enjoyed this one a lot.
What happens when your parents die and you inherit the ranch that is totally burdened with your medical expenses that killed your Olympic dreams and 2 siblings who are more burden than help.? What happens when on top of that your pressured to sell your family history ranch by a horrible person who is out to turn it into a shopping mall and residential area?
What happens when you have all kinds of investments and obligations to build this community and 1 patch of it is owned by an impossible woman unwilling to sell at any price?
What happens when she and he make a bet?
I really enjoyed this read…. I found each of their histories and motives interesting. I was saddened near the end when she ….. well you’ll have to read it.
For those who don’t like sex scenes, some are written well enough to be worth the read. But, you can feel free to skim past them for the body of the story, which is wrth the sk8m.
A pleasant quick read. A good flow to the storyline. Enjoyed both characters. Interesting ending with a HEA that gives a little glimpse into the next story for the sister. Was a nice book.
Driven is an enjoyable romance. Mason and Kayla are both extremely stubborn and determined to get what they want. While that isn’t necessarily a bad thing, I really wanted to slap some sense into them several times. Kayla had a passion for her life that was evident in everything she did. Mason changed through the story as he learned what is really important in life. That money doesn’t buy happiness. That life without passion can be cold and meaningless.
There were several events that occurred in the book which seemed important when they happened but were never mentioned again. Harlan’s cut, Pat, Mason asking for complete details of the spinal injury…even the kittens. Then nothing. I found that a bit odd.
I definitely recommend reading Driven: Southern Alphas Book 1. It Is a great start to a series. I look forward to reading the rest of the books in the series.
