The original Powertools crew is back in a brand new series!
Starting over is never easy. Especially when it means leaving your friends and lovers behind.
An accident on the Hot Rods construction site draws Mike to Middletown. Not to assume his role as foreman, but to help his best friend, Joe, learn the ropes. It’s his turn to be caught off balance when his wife delivers shocking news.
The rest … shocking news.
The rest of the Powertools crew join them to attend a wedding at their friends’ motorcycle garage, Hot Rides. The night could change everything—both personally and professionally.
Because while celebrating their friends’ new commitment, it’s nearly impossible to deny the strength of their own complicated bonds or the fact that they’re evolving. Their marriages, their friendships, and their futures hang in the balance.
At the end of the festivities, who will stay and who will go?
This is a standalone book set in the Powertools universe. All your favorite Hot Rods and Hot Rides characters will be making appearances as well. Some come make new book boyfriends or hang out with old ones.

I love that the original Powertools crew is back again and this time in book 2, we see Mike and Kate facing some changes. We also get to see how Joe and Morgan are doing with their new journey in Middletown, away from the rest of the crew. I devoured this story all in one sitting and I love the connection the entire crew have with one another wherever they are in their lives and how they support one another. There were some unexpected twists that will tug at your heartstring. Once again, author Jayne Rylon has written an emotional and sexy story that you don’t want to miss. I cannot wait to read more in this series.
If you enjoy multiple shared partners then this is for you!
If you loved the Pwoer Tools books you HAVE TO read these. The characters are fun to follow up on.
The Powertools people are like old friends coming to visit. Very welcome and you hope they stay for a long time. The second book in the new Powertools series is as sweet and hot as the original series with the added advantage that all the players are known and well loved.
The difference between this series and the first is the ongoing angst about breaking the crew up. Definitely a welcome addition.
Just not much of a story
I loved this book and I love the series. This book was well written and the characters are so awesome. Yes, it is a book about sharing. This group of people love each other and they are close. I don’t do spoilers so if you like sharing get this one. Warning if you don’t like multiples or Ménage stories you will not like this one. Jayne Rylon has done an excellent job with this book. She has become one of my go to authors. This one is worth your time.
The second book in the series with the original Powertools gang. Life is taking this crew a different path they never saw coming. This one shows the changes coming for Mike and Kate. I love visiting Middleton see all my favorite characters. Though seeing the struggle between the original gang breaks my heart a tiny bit. This one has left wanting the next book because our beloved gang is being pulled in different directions. There are some delightful surprises as well that I just loved. This book brings the heat that I expect with this crew. I needed to fan myself a few times. The heat burns up the pages. If you love the original Powertools then you don’t want to miss out on this series!
This is the first book I’ve read by this author. I was surprised as the book went along that this is one in a series about polyamorous groups and I am coming into the situation without any background. That said I did enjoy the story very much and hope to be blessed with ARCs of the coming books. It seems the construction crew that Mike is the foreman for is on the brink of making a big move from their current town to a new, less expensive but with big opportunities, town and Mike will share foreman duties in a partnership with Joe. Goodness knows, this book had plenty of angst and emotion and I felt like I knew all the characters pretty intimately before the end but it must have been much more pleasant for those who had read Screwed. I volunteered this review after reading an ARC.
I advise you read Screwed Book 1, before continuing on to this addictive and entertaining story.
Jayne Rylon continues to build on a story rife with drama, angst and love. I like that love of friends, family and sexy romance are all depicted throughout the book. The characters are at crossroads dealing with life events and decisions that impact themselves and their loved ones. The series continues to hold my interest, as I look forward to the next book waiting to see what comes next for the Powertools crew.
There is something so satisfying about picking up a book and being thrust back into a world and reading how beloved characters have evolved and grown since first reading their story. That’s just what I felt after reading Drilled and catching up with the Powertools gang and how they’ve loved each other and lived their best lives. And that they’re still looking out for each other—willing to sacrifice their own happiness to make sure others are happy too.
But also maybe realizing that perhaps the sacrifice isn’t needed—perhaps what makes one happy will be what makes the rest of the group happy too. That perhaps a new path and new life can be what’s in store for their future.
This is just what happens with Mike and Kate and the rest of the Powertools. That through Joe’s desire to be closer to his family, perhaps his move toward independence can open doors to a future that none of the Powertools predicted.
I loved revisiting with the gang. Loved to see that even after all their years together, their love and relationship was still going strong. That their bond was seemingly unbreakable even over distance. I loved seeing Mike and Joe work together and plan for the future—especially after Kate’s bombshell reveal.
I can’t wait to see how the Powertools forge ahead with this potential change and to see how they gel with the Hot Rods and Hot Rides gang when and if they’re co-located in Middletown.
Change is hard.
Family dynamics can be challenging.
Getting older with changing family dynamics – Do I need to go further? Lol
DRILLED is the second book in this series and I think it the perfect balance of emotion and romance and open door sex scenes.
I believe this is one of the shorter books written by this author and I love the direction this family is going. As always, this author writes poly relationships with thoughtful insights.
Jayne Rylon did a great job with this quick, sexy read.
It was also great spending time with the Powertools crew and the Hot Rods and Hot Rides crews.
There is a cliffhanger to set up for the next book in the series.
I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in this series!
I received an author’s copy and have left an honest review
Change is hard and you can just feel how hard it is for the Crew. An emergency draws Mike to Middletown and when Kate finds some very interesting news that will change their life completely.
I love reading about the Crew, their stories just draw you in, I read it in one sitting. There is so much love between them, they have each others backs and fronts and everything else, pun intended. I especially love when the Crew comes together and shows some special love to one of theirs, those scenes are scorching, so hot!
I loved the original Powertools series so I had mixed feelings about revisiting them. I loved the closure the first series gave but I also wanted to see what they were up to as time went by. I am enjoying this second time around with them. You get to see them growing and adapting to life’s changes but also keeping with that strong bond they always had. Seeing their struggles and taking new paths is expected but also has been handled so well. I have my own idea about how this whole new ride is going to turn out so fingers crossed.
Another one with all the powertools getting together. Can things stay the same or aren’t they going to change. Joe’s is second guessing if you can be a foreman and when an accident happens Mike goes to help him learn how to lead. Mike and Kate are missing Joe and Morgan. The the whole Powertool crew go to Middletown to celebrate a wedding. What happens that weekend will change things for the crew. It is very well written. Can’t wait for the next one.
From the very first page, I was sucked into the action and the drama and the emotion that always comes through in a Jayne Rylon book, along with copious amounts of shmekshay time, of course!
Jayne always does an amazing job of keeping the emotions real and tangible, and weaving a story that keeps you engaged and enthralled until the very last page. And in Drilled, she has us hooked on the continuation of Joe’s new adventure, and from the start, I feel for him.
Joe, the sweet cinnamon roll that he is, has put so much pressure on himself, just wanting to be the best, to prove himself, and I just want to give him the biggest hug!
And Mike and Kate, they’re like glue! I adore them together, and they remain so hot and steamy! And then you have the other couples; each have their strengths, and all nine of the crew always come together so perfectly!
I love how much all members of the crew and their families love one another; it is there in every interaction, familial, platonic, or perhaps more heated and steamy, and Jayne always writes it excellently!
Drilled definitely works best when read after Screwed, and it has left off with me waiting (im)patiently for the next book! I have an inkling about what direction things might be going in, and if that’s where the amazing Ms. Rylon takes it, it’s going to be phenomenal!
If you’re looking for a sweet, shmekshay, steamy, read, look no further! The Powertools, and all of the various series by this author will always fit the bill!
I absolutely loved this book!! Mike goes to help Joe after and accident happens on Joe’s construction site. He is sad to leave the crew but knows that they will be fine till he gets back. The twists and turns in this book keep you hooked from the beginning! Love that we get to see all the Poertool crew again! A must read!
The crew is back and better and older and more confused then ever. I highly recommend you read the first book to get a real feel of this book. Mike, the man in charge is now questioning his future. How can what he wants conflict so much with keeping the crew together. This book is so full of surprises, some some good and another that breaks your heart. Mike needs Kate to ground him, yet Kate is having her own issues. Such awesome characters, you do not need to be related by blood to be a family. But is the love enough to keep the family together when circumstances could break them apart. I love this series and can not wait for the next book.
In Part 2 Joe is doubting his ability to manage his own crew …. Mike comes to help him and give him support …. Kate comes to give Mike News not gonna spoil you will have to read but the whole crew reunites for a wedding and the hot sparks fly when they all get together damn the pages melt your kindle lol… Then something happens at the end and I cant wait to read the next book to see what happens next….. I voluntarily read an arc
This is Book 2 in the Powertools:The Original Crew Returns. I’m going to highly recommend you read book 1 first so you understand everything the crew is feeling emotionally. This book involves Mike and Kate. Mike goes to help Joe and Kate follows after she finds out something. They are both going to realize that it’s okay to experience change because that’s when family steps up to bat for the home team. I’m not ashamed to say that this book brought tears to my eyes because of everything that happens in it. Family, whether it’s blood or not, can strengthen you in all the ways necessary. Mike and Kate, Joe and Morgan are exactly where they need to be. This is the best book and series! I absolutely love them. Plus we get to see the rest of the crew as they show their love and support. Awesome book!
