Laramie Briscoe just took her character of Drew to a new level I’m this Heaven Hill short entitled Drew. He & Charity have been trying to deal with the fallout of their daughter’s kidnapping by a club member; not only with how Justice is handling it, but their own emotions. Time for them to visit Doc Jones. And, as this IS Laramie Briscoe writing, it may be what she calls a “short”, but it’s funny, a little sexy (come on, Drew & Charity…), emotional, sweet, and wonderful. Makes me love Drew even more!
Drew is the latest book in the Heaven Hill Shorts! It was well worth the wait. This book gives the perspective of a dad. A dad who loves his girls. A dad who believes he is responsible for his daughter getting hurt. This book takes you along that journey from hurt and failure to healing! This book has all of the feels…and a little heat! Incredible story!! Another great job for Laramie!
So this short was just heart wrenching. Drew was so affected by what happened to Justice. This one tore my heart out. It is really really good though. Read it for sure
I’ve always loved Drew and Charity, but this book made me love them even more. Loved Doc Jones made an appearance in this read, I miss that lady in reads. Drew is an amazing father and protector, he just needs to feel it again. But this family is slowly starting to heal.
Oh Drew!!! You big teddy bear. This shirt story is how Drew will overcome what has happened to his daughter. You’ll fall more in love with Drew.
Oh – Hey Drew!
Do not start with this book – you will be lost!
So if you have read all the Heaven Hill stories, you know Drew. And if you are like me, you love Drew. This is a very short novella about what is going on with Drew and his family after Justice was kidnapped.
Wish it was longer since Drew is my fav, but it was a great glimpse into his life. I recommend this one if you are all caught up on this series. 🙂
My goodness these shorts just keep getting better. They are emotional and make you really think about how a tragedy affects the entire family. Drew, being the protecter of the family, has a hard time dealing with his feelings after his daughters abduction. It tells about he is able to overcome his guilt. Sooooo good!
Drew is really struggling in the aftermath of Justice’s kidnapping by his club brother. His emotions are raw and intense. We get to see an alpha man’s love for his family , with a focus on a father’s love for his daughter. He feels like he failed her and doesn’t know what to do with that.
I love Drew, he is one of my favorite characters in Heaven Hill and I felt his emotions so clearly. I love how he loves Charity and his daughters.
I can’t wait to see what comes next for Drew and all of the Heaven Hill gang.
Another short story in the Heaven Hills shorts, we get to catch up with Drew. Still trying to recover from the events that rocked their world, we’re reminded of Drew’s strength and the love he has for his family.
This story’s a lot like a Carolina Reaper pepper, it may be tiny but it’s going to leave its mark on you, and you’re not going to be quite the same afterwards. You need to have experienced Fury first to fully understand the impact of this story. Also, each one of these shorts builds on the knowledge from the ones before. This time we witness Drew struggling to come to terms with no longer having the same trust and control over his world anymore. And just like with nearly every other title in this collection, I was a sodden weepy mess before I made it out the other side. At its heart, this is a story about love and healing and the hard work it sometimes takes to make those happen.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Drew (Heaven Hill Shorts Book 8) by Laramie Briscoe packs quite the emotional wallop. It’s a short read but know that in the short story, the emotions are deep and raw. This is Drew’s story. We get to read how he and Charity dealt with his daughter’s kidnapping and the aftermath of emotions with all involved. It’s raw, intense, gritty, emotional, loving, caring and shows the depth of a father’s love. Writing is phenomenally done and the characters come across as like I feel like I know them. That’s because the author, Laramie Briscoe, has keen insights into her characters which makes the character and connections happen naturally.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *******
Drew is the latest novella in the in the Heaven Hill Shorts Series (Book 8 ).While this may be a short story, Laramie Briscoe has packed it with a big punch. Drew is fierce in defense of his family and is struggling with boundaries. His need for control is powerful and encompassing and about to break him. Healing for his family can only happen after he can forgive himself and learn to let go. A must read story about the depths of a fathers love and the strength of family.
In this addition to the shorts we got to see things from Drew’s perception and I was hooked from the start of this quick read. Drew worked on dealing with his feelings of the events that occurred to Justice as well as how to proceed with life and his growing family. This book of healing was a great read and I had it done in one sitting and it felt like I had just started reading it when I had finished it. I enjoyed this book as well as the other shorts that have been written for this series and I would recommend this as well as the others as a great way to catch up with these characters on a more intimate level.
