Falling in love has never been so much fun! From #1 New York Times Bestselling Author comes the latest novel in her series of sweet romances about a group of friends who start out as bridesmaids and end up as brides. You won’t want to miss a single one!
Whoever said opposites attract must have been talking about Kate Marlowe and Barrett Fox. Her life’s work was bringing people together, and his … together, and his was tearing them apart. The pretty wedding consultant and the sexy divorce lawyer should have hated each other on sight, and—well, they did. But from that first moment, when Cupid’s arrow struck the unsuspecting Barren—literally—there was something between them that just wouldn’t go away.
There was no way it would work, of course. They both knew that. She was as romantic as they come, born to wear white lace and to carry a bouquet of roses with baby’s breath, while he’d learned the hard way not to believe in love—or much of anything else.
It was impossible, completely impossible…wasn’t it?

“So happy to read the first in a new series by Barbara Freethy. She knocks this one out of the park with lovable characters and easy to read story lines. So happy books 2& 3 get released soon. This is bound to be another great series.” Kim – All Night Books on KISS ME FOREVER
“This book is my favorite of the series so far. I like how the author doesn’t make any of her females lead just give in to the male characters they have to earn it. This one made me tear up a little because seeing Julie going through that envelope is hard but it helps her make a decision she wouldn’t have otherwise. It’s a very good book that just makes you ready to read more. Can’t wait for the next book.” – All Night Books on ALL YOUR LOVING

I absolutely loved Dreaming of You; it is an incredible opposites attract love story. Dreaming of You was a bittersweet book for me knowing that it is the seventh and final book in the Bachelors and Bridesmaids series. I loved every book in the series! I love that they series is based on the lives of eight women who met in their college freshman dorm, became best friends, and promised to be bridesmaids in one another’s weddings. Barbara Freethy has once again shown that she is an amazing storyteller. Dreaming of You did not disappoint, I could not put it down and I loved every page. I really enjoy how the book is told from the perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. Dreaming of You is opposites attract love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. I love the lighter moments where I find myself smiling and laughing out loud and the bittersweet moments that cause me to sigh, say aww to myself with tears filling my eyes. Dreaming of You is filled with such moments, and with so much emotion. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, especially the poignant and bittersweet moments that filled this page turner. Dreaming of You is the story of divorce attorney Barrett Fox and Kate Marlow, wedding planner and owner of Romantic Affairs. Kate heads to the first-floor office in the Victorian home, where she rents the second floor to decide what to do with her six-foot tall Cupids, only to discover Barrett standing over one of the destroyed on the floor and Barrett holding Cupid’s arrow. Barrett angrily tells Kate that he is having the office remodeled starting on Monday, and she needs to find someplace else to store her Cupids. Since he is a divorce attorney, he wants the wallpaper in the hallway that they share to be changed, since he considers it inappropriate for his business. I love how Kate and Barrett keep running into each other. As Kate and Barrett spend more time together, things change between. Kate and Barrett share secrets and bittersweet stories with one another. I love that they were both so vulnerable and that they changed because of their love. Barrett opens up about his wedding, marriage and divorce to his first wife, Vanessa, and he doesn’t want that again. Kate believes with the right woman he could want it again; Barrett is not so sure. I loved that Dreaming of You is a more than just a romance, there are dilemmas that both Kate and Barrett are facing that need to be resolved. I love that there were multiple storylines: Kate’s commitment to creating one-of-a-kind weddings, Barrett’s view on big weddings, Barrett’s mother’s desire to find him a wife, but most importantly Kate and Barrett’s story. I am so glad that Kate finally got her man and her happily ever after that she so deserved, after planning the weddings for all her best friends. I loved the plot twists in Dreaming of You. I love all the little things that Barrett does for Kate, especially with helping her decide on a wedding venue for Candice Hunt’s wedding and keeping her grandfather company. I love how all the storylines get so beautifully resolved. My favorite part was Barrett’s grand gesture at Maggie’s and Jessica’s wedding. I love all the descriptions of the California area settings that Barbara Freethy detailed. My favorite part of Dreaming of You was the epilogue and how it went above and beyond the normal happily ever after, and that it took place sixteen months later. Dreaming of You is filled with the poignant and bittersweet moments in the story as well as the plot twists, that I have come to love and expect in Barbara Freethy’s stories. I love the cast of characters in Dreaming of You and I am so sad that Dreaming of You is the final book in the Bachelors and Bridesmaids series. Who doesn’t love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? Reading Dreaming of You felt like a family reunion, because the reader was able to catch up with the other characters in the series. I thoroughly enjoyed Dreaming of You, who doesn’t love opposites attract love stories. Highly recommend this wonderfully written story.
I love a good love story and this was just that. Kate, a wedding planner and Barrett, a divorce lawyer work in the same building and are not fond of eachother…at first. The relationship blossoms into a love story that had me turning the pages quickly.
This is the sweet, funny, and romantic story about Kate Marlow, who’s a wedding consultant, and Barrett Fox, a divorce lawyer. Kate has made it her mission in life to help every bride find her happily ever after. She’s always loved weddings and working with brides. Kate’s a true romantic. She rents space in a beautiful old Victorian house on the second floor that happens to be owned by the Fox family. Barrett Fox’s current office has water damage and he needs to move to another office space so he temporarily decides to move into the first floor of Kate’s building. He shows up earlier than Kate was expecting him to and he ends up getting struck by Cupids arrow! (Seriously). Needless to say, Barrett didn’t find it as funny as Kate did. Barrett is anything but romantic. With the example that his parents have set, he doesn’t have much faith in happily ever afters.
I really enjoyed watching the relationship between Kate and Barrett fall into place. Even though they are complete opposites, with Kate working to bring couples together and Barrett working to take them apart, somehow they find a way to make it work. As they spend more time together, Kate learns things about Barrett that let her see that he’s really not such a bad guy. And Kate shows Barrett that there’s nothing wrong with a little romance.
This was the final book in the Bachelors and Bridesmaids series and it was a great way to wrap it up! This book can be read as a standalone, but once you read one, you’ll want to read them all!
Kate Marlow is a wedding planner and total romantic. She is the last single woman in the group of friends who met in college and vowed to be there for each other on their respective wedding days. Kate has planned all of her friends’ weddings. She is beginning to think that she will be single forever.
Enter Barrett Fox, a handsome, sexy divorce lawyer who moves his office into her office building. Barrett has a failed marriage behind him and has no plans to marry again in the future.
Ms. Freethy’s latest book in the Bachelors and Bridesmaids series is another sweet love story. I hated to see this series end. I enjoyed reading it and recommend it to anyone who enjoys the romance genre.
“Dreaming of You” book 7 in the Bachelors and Bridesmaid series by Barbara Freethy is the first book I have read in this series. Even though this is book #7 it can very well be read as a standalone, but I know I am going to go back and read the first 6 books in this series. This like all the other books and series written by Ms. Freethy is one you don’t want to put down. This book drew me in from the first page and didn’t let go until the last page was turned. This is a quick easy read. A very delightful sweet clean romance.
For all of you who love a wonderful romances and weddings, this story is for you! I highly recommend this feel good story…you’ll be warm and dreamy all day after you finish it. And, read the rest of the series too!
Wow, nothing like getting off on the wrong foot, and being on opposite ends of your occupation. Kate was so sweet, helpful, went above and beyond not only with friends but her clients to make sure they have the best wedding experience possible. At first I didn’t know what to think of Barrett as he went off on Kate when the statute of Cupid fell in his office that he was going to renovate. I thought it was so funny that Kate made a joke and said that Cupid’s arrow pierced him. Sometimes when we protest too much that we don’t have feelings for someone, we really do. Of course when she found out he is a divorce attorney, I can understand why she doesn’t want him in the building. I think that Kate and Barrett really liked each other from the beginning. If was fun watching how they ended up together so many times. Barrett was so good to Kate’s grandparents. It made my heart melt. I thought Barrett’s mother was a snob, and hated how she treated Kate. I was glad to see Kate’s friends were so down to earth and showed Barrett what good friends can be like. I loved the book, and strongly encourage you to read it. I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader’s Copy of the book.
What a wonderful story of Kate and Barrett. She’s a wedding planner that is working on the double wedding of 2 of her best friends from college. There’s 8 of them and after these 2 marry she’s the last single one. Enter Barrett, who is moves into the office downstairs with his law practice…divorce attorney. Oh and his family is also the owners of the building! Kate wants the happily ever after but Barrett plans to never marry again. His parents are divorced and have many marriages between them, Kate’s never married but her grandparents have been married over 50 years so she has faith that long lasting love can happen. A fun story that will make you laugh and want to yell at both of them to figure it out! I read an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.
ARC for honest review with no compensation. 4.5 stars
Dreaming Of You is book 7 in the Bachelors and Bridesmaids series by Barbara Freethy. If you haven’t read the other books in this series fret not as you will get caught up with the other couples too. Each book is a standalone but reading the others will create even more drama, laughter, tears and HEA’s!!
Kate Marlow is the last girl standing and looking to find what her other friends have found. She’s the one that brings people together, planning their wedding and making it all about the couples. When a new tenant moves into her building and she discovers he not only owns the building, he’s a divorce attorney and doesn’t believe in Happily Ever After….that is until the Cupid’s arrow strikes Barrett Fox literally (a cardboard cutout)…there is a chemistry between them that each can’t define but it continues to draw them together.
Will Barrett open his heart to find Kate is what has been missing in his life or will he push her away and keep his life lonely and cold??
This was a really entertaining story of opposites attracting. What could be better than the wedding planner and the divorce attorney? The dialogue and characters were realistic and wonderful.
They had more in common than it seemed at first and watching that unfold was sweetly romantic.
I loved it!
There’s no better way to end the series than with this amazing read. Fun and quirky, and will have you believing in everlasting love. Barrett and Kate couldn’t be more opposite both in their views on love and marriage and with their opposing careers. Neither has the perfect family but, can Kate make Barrett believe in a love that can last the test of time. I loved this book. It had me laughing and really feeling for the characters. It was the perfect way to end an amazing series.
Being hit, literally, with a 6-foot-tall Cupid’s arrow is probably not the best way to begin a relationship. In the conclusion to the Bachelors & Bridesmaids saga by Barbara Freethy, this inauspicious beginning is the way divorce lawyer Barrett and wedding planner Kate meet.
Although they’re on opposite sides of the marriage/divorce issues, they still feel a spark when they see each other. Kate wants a forever love, and Barrett is just jaded enough to think there is no such thing.
Enter Kate’s best friends and their HEA’s. Add in Kate’s grandparents with their decades long love affair. Counter all that with Barrett’s multi-marriage parents and Kate’s no marriage parents and you’ll be wondering if these two can ever have the happily ever after they so deserve.
A wonderful conclusion to the Bachelors & Bridesmaids continuity, with a fitting wrap up of what’s going on with the other couples we’ve come to know in this fun series.
DREAMING OF YOU
Kate, the last one still single of the tight knit friends of college. Now busy planning the weddings of Jessica and Maggie, a double wedding, and on Valentine day. Back at her office, informed of a new tenant will be down below on Monday, which was now filled with mannequins for a wedding. Hearing a crash she hurries downstairs, meeting the new tenant and owner n a designer suit, covered in dust. He wasn’t pleased nor sense of humor with the cupid from one of them. Meeting Barrett again, he had been married, his ex was more into the planning of the big wedding then being married. Now wanting wall paper going upstairs to her office removed, he feels it is inappropriate of happy days. When his clients come for divorce. He is turning her ordinary life upside down. This was a delight to read, funny, I loved the plot. You got caught up in the magic of weddings. GivenARC for my voluntary review and my
honest opinion.
If you’re lucky, you come out of college with a great group of friends who will be there for you always. Kate is part of a group of 8 and she’s a wedding planner. In fact, she’s planning a double wedding for friends 6 and 7. She loves her friends, loves her job, and isn’t really looking for Mr. Right at the moment. Her life is full. But Cupid’s arrow can strike at any time. And it did. Literally. Even though Barrett has sworn off love and weddings – he’s a divorce lawyer – he can’t seem to help himself with feelings for the frustrating wedding planner upstairs.
Sparks fly in book #7 of the Bachelors and Bridesmaids series. It’s sweet, flirty, and fun. And it’s a fast, easy read.
This is the last book in this series and it was another wonderful add and a great read. The series follows college friends that have made a pact to be there for each other when they got married. This is Kate’s story. She is the last girl who is not either engaged or married. However, Kate fully believes in the happily ever after and she better because her career is wedding planning. She owns her own business and rents out the second floor in a cute building. Kate is planning a double wedding for two of her college friends and she has other wedding prospects too. She does not have time to date or find love. The last thing she ever expected was to meet her future love in the building where she works.
Barrett is a divorce attorney and has moved his offices to a new building that his family owns. Her needs to get set up fast a nd his construction plans do not coincide with his neighbors upstairs. Upon meeting Kate in a statue mishap moment, Barrett does not show his best side. Over time, they move from the enemies stage to being friends to dating and becoming boyfriend/girlfriend and to lovers with a happily ever after.
This is a cute story and I loved getting a glimpse into the last characters from the previous books. You can read this book with out reading the others in the seties, but why not read them all? They all are cute stories, great characters and happily ever afters. I am sad that the series is done, but I know Barbara Freethy will come up with something soon for us all to read.
The perfect ending to the series! I loved every moment of Kate and Barrett’s story to the point of reading it in just 2 sittings! It works as a standalone story, but I cannot recommend more to start from the first!
Freethy proves her versatility with every tale she pens. She can thrill with chillers, bewilder with mysteries and touch the heart with romance. Dreaming of You is a feel good story wrapped in an emotional whirlwind. Barrett and Kate are the best and worst of what love has to offer. She’s a dreamer, who wears her heart on her sleeve. He’s a realist, haunted by the heartaches of his past. They shouldn’t make sense, but are a perfect fit of the heart. For stories packed with emotion and imaginatively stunning, turn to Barbara Freethy.
What can a wedding planner & a divorce lawyer find in common? If it’s Kate & Barrett, an attraction to each other will have to be enough. Barrett has been married once & is determined he’ll never go through it again. Kate wants the entire package but only with the man she can see forever with. As they spend time together, it’s easy to see the differences but they are continually drawn to each other.
I loved this series. The women are as close as they were as college freshmen. They prove that they look out for each other & have each other’s backs. They are more like a group of sisters, rather than friends. Barnett comes across as a cynic but his attitude is one of more hurt than of bitterness. He just needed someone to knock him out of his rut. This was a great sweet, clean romance to close out the series.
A sweet easy read. Romance, love and a very minute amount of tribulation, wrap this story into one relaxing read. Grab your favorite libation, put your feet up and enjoy this one. Good read.
This is the final book in a series of 7 about friends who meet in college & make a pledge to be there at each other’s weddings. Kate and Barrett’s story is definitely “opposites attract” as she’s the romantic wedding planner, a little sad as she’s watched all her friends find true love and he’s the cynical divorce attorney, vowing never to get married again after a bad first trip down the aisle. Thrown together when he moves his office to the building her business is in, Barbara Freethy writes a fun tale of getting these two to their own happily ever after. You will enjoy this book even if you haven’t read the others in the series…but they are all good too!!
