He hopes to find a safer life in the small resort town of Wellfleet, and when he meets Bella during a night patrol shift, he realizes he’s found the one thing he’d never allowed himself to hope for–or even realized he was missing.
After fourteen years of focusing solely on his son, Caden cannot resist the intense attraction he feels toward beautiful Bella, and Bella’s powerless to fight the heat of their budding romance. But starting over proves more difficult than either of them imagined, and when Evan gets mixed up with the wrong kids, Caden’s loyalty is put to the test. Will he give up everything to protect his son–even Bella?

Dreaming at Seaside is book two in the Sweet with Heat: Seaside Summers series. Once again, there is no disappointment in a book by this author. This was an amazing book that kept my interest from beginning to end. I also enjoyed listening to this narrator. I highly recommend it!
I really loved this book. I love single dads. I love sexy, hunky, policemen. I love the crazy ladies and men of Seaside. I love books written by Addison Cole. This book is a win-win-win-win. After teaching middle school for 30 years, I loved having Caden’s son, Evan, in this book. It is rare to have a teenaged son in a romance, but he added so much emotion to the story. I have already read the first book in the series, so I am very familiar with the ladies and men from Seaside. They are very entertaining, and will bring lots of laughter to the book. The way that Caden meets Bella for the first time had me laughing so hard, and this is at the beginning. I really want to move to Seaside and join them, but since that can’t happen I will be planning to read every book in this series. Then, there is the author, Addison Cole. She can really write. This book has just the right amount of sweet with heat. She had me so pulled into the story, I cried for the last 20% of the book. Some were happy and some were sad, but all were worth it. This is a must read!!
After reading it, I have now listened to the audiobook too. It is just as good. I might have loved it even more as Melissa Moran brought it to life. I recommend that you read it or listen to it, it is up to you.
fantastic friends, family, romance, seaside
Overall 4 out of 5 stars
Performance 4 out of 5 stars
Story 4 out of 5 stars
Melissa Moran gives a performance that make the rich character that Addison Cole have created take on a new life. Melissa brings back the characters that I fell inlove with in the previous book. Her vocals add an element of familiarity with the characters we already met through her. The were no issues with the clarity, sound quality, no skipping, no echoing. You could make a connection and it carried all the way to the end of the read.
Here we find ourselves back at Seaside, this time with Bella and Caden. Of course, we have the others from the Seaside gang also. We get the sweet, innocent, less provocative, yet still fulfilled romance rich characters both supporting and primary, a set-story line, and the romance journey. This was a good clean read that can be read by beginning romance readers. Seeing Caden and Bella fall in love was pure clean fun. Add a teenager, girlfriends, and the community of Seaside to it all. You get a good afternoon read/listen. You get friends, family, and more.
Rating: 4.5 Stars
Bella Abbascia must be a hoot to be around. You know this author’s book is going to be really good when you start laughing before the first chapter is over. It gets even better at the beginning of chapter two. Caden Grant gets an interesting introduction to Bella and her friends. If you have a fantasy about a hot cop, I think Caden will help you with that.
This is a series where we don’t get to see the couples take their physical relations to the next level but your imagination kicks in to fill in the blanks – this is where sweet with heat is shown at its best. This series also shows the love of friends and the developing love between a man and a woman. Then we also have the love between a man and his son. With this book we see how tough things can be as the son is growing up and trying to make friends in a new community. Our author took her time developing her scenes. This way we don’t feel as if the friendship of the women is overtaking the relationship we see developing between Bella, Caden, and his son Evan.
Since I read this book out of order, it gave me a push to re-read book three so I can experience that couple a second time. So the only hint I’ll give you on that front is that they both appear in this story. I loved the real sense of caring and of family. You feel as if they’ve welcomed you into their ever-growing circle.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
Dreaming of Seaside is Book 2 of the Sweet with Heat series. Each book can be read as a standalone but by reading each one, you gain a better understanding of the relationships & interactions of the characters.
Bella has been coming to Seaside for years. Every summer, Bella, Leanna, Jenna & Amy get reacquainted & set off on their summer adventures. Since Leanna has found her way with Kurt & her jam making career, Bella has been dissatisfied with her life. She’s quit her job as a school teacher & set up a probationary program for the summer. She’s not going to let a man derail her plans. No relationship & no man until things are on track. Until he pulls in – hot, sexy policeman Caden. How is she supposed to fight that chemistry?
After his partner was killed, Caden decided he needed to move to a quiet town & a smaller force. He was a single father raising his son, Evan & didn’t want to leave him without a parent. Caden is happy & content & prepared to enjoy the next couple of years before Evan heads to college. Then he catches a sexy fiery blonde in her brief pj’s & with her hair caught in a window. Can this attraction be real?
Addison Cole sets a story of friendship & love in a small town. The scene is set perfectly. The friendships are realistic & relatable. I really loved the interactions between Bella & Evan. It takes a special person to accept a teenager into a relationship along with their attitude. I really enjoyed this story & you will too!
This is the second book in the Sweet With Heat: Seaside Summers series but reads very well as a stand alone. I guarantee you will want to read each book for everyone’s individual stories.
The ladies of this close knit beach community enjoy having fun, even at their own expense.Leanna and Kurt have found each other but are still included in any fun the girls think up. Bella can be counted on to think up good hearted activities that make everyone laugh out loud.
Caden Grant is the newest patrol officer in the community. He balances his time between work and being a single parent to a teenager. Evan, his son, is a good kid trying to fit in and make new friends. It is a time of adjustment for them both.
Bella is struggling to adjust also, as her life and career are going through major changes. This is her summer to figure out her future. She didn’t count on falling in love — with both Grant men.
As in the first book, it is the way each character is there for the others that makes me love this series. The romance is hot, without being graphic, but it is the friendships that make me want to keep coming back for more.
Absolutely love her books and the wonderful way she tells her story. So impressed that she refrains from the sexual explaining which turns me off immediately. Beautiful writing.
Dreaming at Seaside is book 2 in the Sweet with Heat series by Addison Cole and this story is all about Bella Abbascia and hunky Cop Caden Grant
Bella is the feisty joker out of the Seaside Girls and we met her in Read, Love Write at Seaside along with Leanna, Amy and Jenna. The girls have grown up with each other spending the summer at their seaside cottages and they are all really close, now the Bells’s life is taking a different turn and she has quit her school teaching job and looking to move to the cape full time, if Leanna can do it so can she right?
The girls are shocked that she quit her job but supportive and they will do anything to help each other out. Bella has also sworn off men, that is until one night whilst out doing a prank on the community manager Theresa, she gets caught in Leanna’s bedroom window when new cop in town Caden catches her and the girls, whilst patrolling the area.
The instant sparks were there for both of them without a doubt!
Caden has moved to Wellfleet with his teenage son Evan from Boston where he was cop, but after losing his best friend in the line of duty he realised how dangerous his job in the big city really was so moved to the quiet town of Wellfleet.
Soon Caden and Evan have been welcomed into the Seaside group and the sparks and heat between him and Bella just sizzle. And Bella who has sworn off men is more than willing to have a relationship with Caden and what I loved most about her was how much she went out of her way to include Evan in their date plans. That says a lot her a person, and it just shows to Caden how wonderful of a person she really is.
Dreaming at Seaside is definitely Sweet with just enough heat that will leave you wanting wanting more, it is a great clean read and you will not be disappointed,
