This book was so good. Loved the super natural and the suspense. You think you know who did it but man when you find out you didnt even know. Well written and great characters.
This story will definitely keep you on your toes from start to finish. I could not put it down once I started it and read it all in one sitting. The story line is very original and the author wrote it perfectly!! Characters are all well developed and you are able to see them clearly in your mind.
I liked the concept of the book and the suspense but I had some difficulty with the flow of things. Something I’d find myself confused for a bit before it set in. But other parts made for it in the long run
This one was really hard for me to read ~ but I really enjoyed the story. I liked the fact that Mikala’s sixth sense has been passed through the generations in her Mom’s family. The whole Project Dream concept had me intrigued, there were surprises I wasn’t expecting. I think for me it was hard to digest the kidnapped children and being concerned they were in grave danger. Overall it was really a good book, it kept me turning pages and engaged. Oh and the epilogue was perfect!
As three boys are missing there is one little girl who’s dreams might bring them home. I love a good mystery and was expecting one with this read. What I didn’t expect was the wild ride that it took you on. From past to present there is so much going on with so many characters. Ms. Zahner did a phenomenal job of keeping it all straight. You could have easily gotten lost but each chapter took you down a different path.
This read has so many unique characters. The mystery of the kidnapper was kept a good mystery. Even though I was trying to guess I was always wrong. A unique read that will keep you guessing and has plenty of nail biting moments.
Wow, this book had me guessing the whole time. I thought it was one person then changed to another then back again. Never saw this ending. Great, great great
I wasn’t quite sure how this book was going to go but it just kept gathering steam until you had to find out what happened. Jack lives with his wife Lisa and his daughter Mikala, sons Jaden and John but something is going on with Mikala. Mikala sees things and right now she is seeing missing boys that Jack and his partner have been desperately trying to find but Jack doesn’t want anyone to know she sees things but that will put her in danger. There’s a few stories within the story but it really enhances it.
REALLY is this a gift or curse.Jack is a detective and is working on a case involving three missing boys.Lisa his wife ,the grandmother and her sister and her very own daughter have dreams and can see things.Although his daughter could help him with this case he fears anyone knowing about her special abilities . Year’s earlier his sister was taken by the government to special camp for people with these abilities . The book has lots so suspense and action and will definitely keep you engaged the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger and keeps you wondering
This book is the first that I’ve read in a long time that kept me captivated. I felt that I was right there with each and every character. It was extremely hard to put down. Can’t wait to read the next. I would definitely recommend this book.
I really liked this book. It kept the twists and excitement coming. I read the whole book in one sitting. The characters were believable and story was well written. I look forward to reading more about Mikala and her gifts.
I received this book as an ARC and wished to leave a review.
I was hesitant to read this book because it is based on a subject I was unfamiliar with (and somewhat uncomfortable with). However, I was riveted and intrigued from the first chapter. The characters were so well developed that it felt like I knew them personally. The story development was unpredictable which made the book hard to put down.
“Dream Wide Awake” was beautifully written! The exceptional use of vocabulary was above and beyond most books and presented vivid images of characters and events.
I would highly recommend “Dream Wide Awake”, to those readers looking for an intriguing and suspenseful novel. I thoroughly enjoyed this book!

Mikala is a six-year-old girl. She has visions of three missing boys. Long before she was born, her father, Detective Jack Daly married into a family who had visions. Now his daughter has them. He is trying to keep this a secret. He works very hard to find the boys before the American government finds out that Mikala is helping her and takes her away and puts her in Project Dream. One daunting question haunts Jack. Is it true? Is death the only way out of Project Dream? You will need to read the book to find out. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book from Booksprout.
Usually not my genre, but oh my, what a thriller. When it is good writing, such as this, you get caught up in the characters and story. I especially like Cyndie’s ability to paint with her descriptions of characters and locations. You actually feel with the character. Highly enjoyable!
