When Kristen Ashley teased the first book this series, Dream Maker, to her readers in 2019, I couldn’t wait, and it instantly became one of my most anticipated books of 2020. I absolutely loved her Dream Man series, and to this day, it’s one I reread often. The commandos were always these interesting, elusive guys popping up when everyone needed them most. I wanted to know more about them then, and I’m beside myself that KA is giving that to readers now.
Dream Chaser is the second book in Kristen Ashley’s Dream Team series, and I absolutely loved everything about Boone and Ryn’s story. The Dream Team series is a brand new series starring new characters who’ve really only been alluded to in her previous books and series. KA readers often wax poetic about “old school KA,” a reference to her early writings which are widely viewed as some of the greatest contemporary romances of our time. I think she managed to sate those readers with these books by delivering two stories so far that were both comfortingly familiar but still felt brand-spanking-new. It was wonderfully nostalgic but with a fresh spin.
One thing KA readers agree upon is that her stories aren’t just about the hot guy hero. He’s a star, don’t get me wrong, but her heroines are equally dynamic and hold their own in the face of all that alpha-hotness. She pens strong, sassy, smart women, and she makes them part of a tribe of friends who define what it means to belong to a sisterhood. I read KA stories just as much for those fabulous female-positive friendships as I do for the heart-racing, heat-filled, knee-weakening romances they’re swept up in. In Dream Chaser, KA gives her heroine, Ryn, a solid support system in Smithie’s girls, and their brand of mischief and sisterhood holds its own against that of the Rock Chicks or the Chaos old ladies – who make liberal appearances and welcome the strippers into the fold.
Ryn and Boone each come to the table with their own issues, and they both share a very particular sexual preference. While there is a Dom/sub element to their relationship, readers need not be overly concerned if BDSM isn’t your jam. This was a taste, a dabble if you will, and while their romance was not overwhelmed by their kink, it most definitely fanned the flames of that heat between them to scorching levels. Ryn’s hard exterior protects a heart of gold, and she’s stretched thin caring for her niece and nephew as she covers for their neglectful, lazy, substance-abusing parents. Stripping was only supposed to be a means to an end for her, but unfortunately her family situation has thrown a wrench in her plans. Her life is complicated, but when she lets that wall down and finally lets Boone in, she finds a true partner in him. Boone was precisely the man for her, in every conceivable way, and his commanding, consistent pursuit, presence and then partnership with her was exactly the kind of sigh-inducing, swoon-worthy, romance novel magic I crave from KA.
Dream Chaser was everything I love about a Kristen Ashley romance. A resilient, sharp and feisty heroine and a protective, decisive, caring alpha male in a love story full of feels, fun and fire. I literally inhaled this book, loving every single moment, word and scene of it. I didn’t want to put it down, I didn’t want it to end, and I’m already anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. A top favorite of the year, Dream Chaser by Kristen Ashley gets five smooches from me!

*I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley for the purpose of providing an honest review. I have since purchased my own copy of the ebook for my digital library.
“I’m a member of the Extreme Alphas Club, woman. You think I don’t get off on the idea of demoing shit and trimming hedges and grouting tile?”
I think the author’s ability to write such good alpha is what I love most about her books. There’s just something about those the way her alphas use fewer words to say more that really does it for me. I can hear the growly ‘babe’ in my head… sigh.
Ryn is a giver. She’s givin’ more than she’s got and it’s doing her in. She puts her family before herself and when she learns that she’s being taken advantage of it’s a hard truth to accept. That situation right there got my blood boiling. I wanted to kick some virtual ass in a big way.
When Boone decides that Ryn is what he wants he doesn’t give up. She brings out his protective side and his bossy side. Something that she finds really hard to resist. Who can blame her, right? Once he gets involved in what’s going on in her life it becomes even harder.
I really enjoyed all the colorful support characters. They have each other’s back and are always available to provide nonstop entertainment. I can’t get enough of their banter but don’t let that fool you. They are badasses. When danger comes calling you want them at your back. This story has it all. Sweet, sexy, suspense and… did I mention the extreme alphas? Yeah, that’s the best part. I can’t wait to get my hands on Dream Spinner. The line forms here…
Dream Chaser by Kristen Ashley is the second book in her Dream Team series, and it was an absolute delight to read, delivering exactly what I expect from a KA book!
I am thoroughly and completely and totally head over heels in love with Run. So giving, so caring, so loving, so blind to what she deserves in turn, so very sweet. She is the most amazing aunt, has so much love to give, and I was rooting for her, just wanting her to find the love and support that she needs, that she deserves, that she has absolutely earned.
And Boone? Holy moly! I swear, I was a melted puddle of goo each and every time his presence hit the page. SWOONWORTHY and demanding and caring and the perfect foil for a woman that took on too much and just needed support, love, care, and someone to take over the reins every once in a while, something he excelled at, let me tell you!
This CHEMISTRY is killing me in the best possible way! Their relationship dynamic, the push and pull, the sizzle, the simmering, it is HOT and definitely had me requiring respites and tall, cool, glasses of water to recover. And I loved every single moment of it!
All in all, this story will have you riveted, invested, hungry for more, and continue to deliver excellent characterization and engaging narrative! So, dive in, for another Dream Team story! You won’t regret it!
P. S. Jethro is ADORABLE. And Portia, she’s feisty and sassy and it’s endearing.
P. P. S. Cannot wait to find out more about Brett!
P. P. P. S. Seriously. That. CHEMISTRY. UNF!
The way Kristen Ashley tells a story is fantastic. The characters and the multiple story lines pull me into the story and keep me there. It’s full of love, friendship, family, and suspense. I love this book and this series.
I have mixed feelings about this one. I enjoyed it. Loved seeing all the characters and watching this couple work themselves out of a mess and into a happy place. Ryn was definitely a likable heroine and I wanted her to find her happy ever after. However…
Boone was definitely alpha but not my favorite. I loved watching him take care of Ryn, call in his boys to help and was fiercely protective of her. I just wish he would have held out a little longer for her instead of hooking up with someone else.
While I adore pretty much everything this author writes, there are times that I want to smack her heroes upside the head. Boone was one of them. The fact that Ryn needed to be won and in my opinion, never was, had me subtracting a star. I wanted to see Boone really having to work to get in there.
Otherwise, this was pretty classic KA with the danger, drama, clothing, settings and loyal friends all around. Oh, and smexy to the extreme!
This book was the best I absolutely loved reading every minute of it . Ryn and Boon were made for each other . Both in the BDSM lifestyle . While Ryn was in control somewhat , she gladly handed that control over to Boon eventually lol boy did he have to work for it though . Another awesome read . Can’t wait to read more in this series.
Alpha heroes & enough suspense to fuel a rocket ship, Ashley has landed herself a new fan.
Did I read this one sitting? Heck yes.
Am I working my way through the Rock Chicks as well? Absolutely.
Something about a man that comes in with his radar locked on one woman just does me in, and Boone came in swinging.
And Ryn, adamant about having her own back and unwilling to just roll over for a man, gave as good as she got.
I can’t wait to continue this series, seriously, I’m so invested in this crew.
Another great book in The Dream Team series! If you like steamy, action packed and a alpha hero in your read then this ones for you! I loved Boone and Ryn so much! They were perfect for each other! This book will also give you all the feels. I found myself able to relate to Ryn a lot. I was hooked from the moment I started this book and couldn’t put it down! I would definitely recommend it!!!
Aw, my hopes got dashed again, folks. Though it started off classic KA and I was getting into the bad guy who had an unexpected good side to him sub character who sincerely wanted to protect Ryn, the writing eventually and for no good reason whatsoever started to loose complete focus and meandered all over the place. From overly l-o-n-g, drawn out, exhausting, ping pong ball whip lash, talking in circles, Rock Chick caveman lingo conversations regarding pretty much everything, I just found myself thinking…Why, oh why is this happening….again? Where’s the Rock Chick style consistently engaging writing?
Don’t even get me started on #1. Boone being in a non-exclusive smex agreement with another woman he implies sleeps around one minute, then the next proclaiming he is “clean” so he can forego protection with Ryn … and she’s completely OK with it. #2. Ryn being the desperate doormat continuing to text him for days after he walks out.
For those who enjoy the deep end KA jumped into with her BDSM Honey series, you’ll get more of that kink here. I can’t help but wonder why she now feels compelled to incorporate that aspect in all her books since then. I personally feel she’s lost her mojo in writing steam so tend to automatically skim over them to get back to the romantic plot.
Sure, I liked Ryn’s sassy, feisty nature but was disappointed with her bouts of weepiness. Boone’s protective nature was a boon to the plot, but was, of course, expected and rather predictable since his character was rather cookie cutter in line with the other alpha males in this series.

Kristen Ashley writes with truth and empowerment for women. That’s why it is impossible for me to put her books down until the last page is finished and this one is no different.
Dream Chaser is truly that with Kathryn Jenson working in one field to chase her ultimate dream and the man she lets her guard down for who captures her heart.
Dream Chaser is Book 2 in Kristen Ashley’s Dream Team series and another absolute winner for Kristen Ashely! I couldn’t put this book down! Boone and Ryn were PERFECTION! But this is Kristen Ashley soooo. The romance between them was perfection. Don’t get me wrong. Neither are perfect–they’re both flawed–but they’re perfect together and for each other. And the passion and sex? WOW! The family drama had me wanting to slap her almost-sister-in-law and brother around. I adored the cameos from the Rock Chick, Dream Man and Chaos series. Man, I just love how Kristen Ashley does that! And her dialogue is AMAZING!! It carries the storyline–whether it’s the suspense or romance–seamlessly. I know I’m all over the place, but the book is absolutely wonderful. I inhaled it. Just got lost in it. Now I’m feenin’ for Hattie and Axl’s book! And can we just bow down to KA, the Epilogue Queen? And not to give anything away, but I loved how she redeemed a certain character. Okay, now I’m really going on and on. Needless to say… I loved this book! Kristen Ashley makes me ramble…
Dream Chaser is a great story if you are down for a mash up of characters from her different series like I am!! Boone and Ryn both have their issues, but they bring a stability that each other needed in order to have a good life. You need to read this for the mall, the bathroom, the demo, Chipotle and the ice cream alone. This story reminds you no matter what walk of life you’ve come from or have been through, your dreams can come true as long as you chase them and don’t give up.

This book – and series – is so reminiscent of the original Rock Chick series that I love it. It’s not quite as crazy or dramatic as that awesome series, but I’m still loving this.
I think all my favorite KA books take place in Colorado or Indiana.
I don’t feel as in love with KA’s newer characters as I did with Tack, Hawk, Lee, Luke and all the rest, but it’s still a great, entertaining, wonderful romance.
Dream Chaser is a fabulous read. I love the Dream Team series so much. This is Ryn and Boone’s story. Your heart will be taken all over the place when it comes to Ryn’s family and how Ryn and Boone are together. I loved every moment of this one. Ryn and Boone are hot together. I love the totally alphaness of Boone. Ryn knows what her dreams are and isn’t afraid to chase them. She is strong and can handle the little bit of danger thrown her way. I can’t wait for more Dream Team books to come.
Kristen Ashley’s books are like food for my soul. For years every single book she has released has brought me so much joy and Dream Chaser is no expection to the rule. With her unique writing style she transports me out my reality and directly into her world of commandos, strong women, tight families, and close friendships. I adore getting glimpses of characters I’ve known and loved for so many years while I get to fall in love with this newer group.
Boone and Ryn have an attraction that is loaded with chemistry and emotion even with their rocky start. The emotions between them will have your heart hurting and soaring and keep you on your toes constantly as their relationship grows into something so strong it will leave you will happy tears running down your face.
Combining that with suspense that keeps you on your toes and bits of wicked humor that will have you giggling like a crazy person Dream Chaser is the perfect recipoe for the ultimate book hangover.
Dream Chaser is the second book in Kristen Ashley’s Dream Team series and I’m loving it. Especially because so many of my favorite alphas from KA’s other series make appearances.
Ryn (Kathryn) was such a caring and sweet person. She was a little slow getting with the program by agreeing to take a chance on all the yumminess that was Boone. However once she finally decided to take that chance, she knew it was a decision that was right.
I adored Boone and loved how protective he could be. Ryn’s safety was his number one priority and he made that very clear in so many ways. Now at one point, Boone’s anger got the best of him and I was not very happy with his actions. However he acknowledged his mistake, owned up to it and apologized.
I wish there was a little more page time with Portia and Jethro, but I have no doubt we’ll see more of them and Brian in future books.
I want Axl to find out what’s wrong with Hattie and give her the happy ending her friends are getting. I have a feeling both she and Axl deserve some happy. I’m also really hoping Cisco gets a book too. There are still some questions regarding dirty cops and I’m anxious to see who is behind what has been happening.
Another fantastic book by KA.
It was another beautiful love story in this series. KA never disappoints and I look forward to the next book. I recommend this book, series, and author.
Action-packed, alluring, and risqué!
Dream Chaser is a fervid, edgy tale that features the busy, chaotic stripper, Ryn who finds herself the next one on Lotties’s list to be set up, but between her dysfunctional extended family and her recent association with the criminal on the run, Cisco, she has no time to start a relationship with the macho, black ops commando, Boone who may not only be the perfect protector out of the bedroom but the Dom she needs in it.
The writing is passionate and enticing. The characters are strong-willed, vulnerable, and kind. And the plot, including all the subplots, is a fevered blend of friendship, familial drama, sisterhood, chaos, dangerous situations, sizzling attraction, romance, a little BDSM, and a lot of dirty talk.
Overall, Dream Chaser is a tantalizing, dramatic, sexy addition to the Dream Team series by Ashley that has all the elements you look for in a romantic suspense tale with its heat, danger, sexual tension, and happy-ever-after ending.
Kristen Ashley know how to write sweet, heartfelt and sexy.
Hero : Boone Andrew Sadler is not just a commando, he’s a member of the Extreme Alphas Club, which means he’s hyper protective and domineering in and out of bed and would love nothing more than to explore the attraction between them.
Heroine : Kathryn Jensen’s dream job is to be able to flip houses. She has the perfect first one and only needs to save up enough to start with the remodel. As an exotic dance she should have enough, but lately her money has gone to help out her niece and nephew. Until she finds out she’s being swindled and even though the messenger is uber hot and would like to go out with her, she’s not willing to take a chance on him.
Plot/Pace : Ryn is incredibly sweet, caring of her family, and a submissive, but she’s not a doormat and even though she’s incredibly attracted to Boone, the Dom in him seems too much to handle for her because of problems in such past relationships. But he’s determined to get her and once he gets a foot in the door, he’s all in. As in, he’s resolute in not only satisfying her, but also being there for her, which includes protecting her from her family and the dirty cops that have taken an interest in her.
Feels : While the two deal with outside drama and kidnappings, they also try to figure out their feelings for each other as they navigate the baggage they each bring to the relationship. I missed how extremely protective and caring Ashley’s heroes can be. I loved that Boone was also able to show his vulnerable side and Ryn was there to help him.
“He kissed like Boone. Man and alpha and strength and protector and Dom.”
I loved that the characters were relateable and down to earth. In essence they were good people who deserved their happiness. But to get there, they did need some help from their friends which consisted of new and old characters. I loved the cameos from previous books in the spinoff series and can’t wait to read more of the new.
Sexiness : Although Boone and Ryn had a delicious D/s relationship, the sexy times were downright HOT, but for the BDSM’s lovers, I feel that that aspect was on the light side. Which of course didn’t detract from the overall story.
Facts: Dream Chaser book #2 of the Dream Team series by Kristen Ashley. A spinoff the Dream Man & Rock Chick series. Told from both points of view, with a happy ending. Subgenres: Romantic Suspense| BDSM | Contemporary Romance
DREAM CHASER is the second instalment in Kristen Ashley’s contemporary, adult DREAM TEAM erotic, romantic suspense series focusing on a group of women, exotic dancers, who call themselves the Dream Team. This is exotic dancer Kathryn ‘ Ryn’ Jansen, and fixer / commando Boone Sadler’s story line. DREAM CHASER can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and cohesion as there is an on-going premise throughout. The DREAM TEAM series is a spin off from the author’s Rock Chick, Chaos and Dream Man series, and several characters cross-over for familiarity and cohesion.
NOTE: If you have not read book one DREAM MAKER there may be spoilers in my review.
Told from first person perspective (Ryn) and third person (Boone) following several different paths, DREAM CHASER follows in the weeks after the Dream Girls were abducted and subsequently rescued by the ‘commandos’, a group of former US soldiers who now worked domestic civilian contracts for Hawk Delgado, but in the months following the abduction, Ryn Jansen would find herself under the protection of commando Boone Sadler, a man she believes despises the ground upon which she walks. An invitation to a Dom/sub event finds sub Ryn Jansen facing her abductor, a man who is trying to prove that he is innocent of the accusations of killing a police officer, but a man who is also protective of our story line heroine. Another murder pulls Ryn into the spotlight as the commandos begin a search for a dirty cop, and Ryn becomes the target of betrayal and revenge. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Ryn and Boone, and the potential fall-out as the threats against our heroine increase, and Ryn struggles with Boone’s need to protect the woman with whom he is falling in love.
Meanwhile, Ryn’s dysfunctional family begins to implode as her brother Brian and his ex Angelica’s contentious relationship spills over into the lives of their children. As Ryn has been more of a mother to the children then their own parents, our heroine will be pushed from their lives when she refuses to continue to enable her alcoholic brother, and the mother he once loved.
Ryn Jansen wants to flip houses but two steps forward always results in one step back every time Brian or Angelica call looking for money or help. As a ‘sub’ in the BDSM life, Ryn is hoping to find someone who will give in to her needs but Ryn hasn’t had much luck when it comes to Doms or love. An independent and feisty heroine, Ryn is pulled in too many directions including falling for a man who may or may not be falling for her. Boone Sadler is a former US soldier, now working as a commando for Hawk Delgado, and a Dom in the BDSM lifestyle. Boone is not currently looking for a sub but finds a willing participant in Ryn Jansen, a woman who stirs something deep within our story line hero. The $ex scenes are intimate and erotic but I dislike the use of a certain four-letter word, often used for shock value more than anything else. The BDSM, Dom/sub premise is prevalent throughout the story but moderate to minimal in content and form, limited to a few light scenes, and not at all kinky or carnal.
Once again, there is a large ensemble cast of colorful and familiar, secondary and supporting characters including Hawk Delgado, Augustus Auggie Hero, Chaos MC members Joker and Hound; Mo and Lottie, Mag and Evie; Elvira, Axl, the Rock Chicks; the ‘Dream Team’ dancers, Pepper, Ava and Hattie; their boss Smithie, and security specialist and Smithie’s nephew Dorian; Mama Nana, and her security guard Jorge; and Cicso aka Brett Rappaport. We are introduced to Ryn’s mother, brother Brian, his ex Angelica, and their children Jethro and Portia, and Angelica’s mother Brenda; Boone’s parents Anne-Marie and Porter; Domme Corinne Morton; detectives Mueller and Bogart. Hattie and Axl’s story line is next in DREAM SPINNER.
DREAM CHASER is a story of family, relationships, betrayal and love. The premise is heart breaking and emotional; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are energetic, strong and charismatic.
