Drakon Jericho Drake, the child of a pure-blood dragon and human, has a simple plan: Kill the leader of the Knights of the Dragon and start a war. Except, when he meets his target, Karina Azarov, she can’t remember who she is. Worst of all–he can’t kill her. His dragon side has just claimed the dangerous woman as his mate. Karina has no idea why these Drakon’s have taken her to their home. And … home. And she most certainly does not understand why she’s so drawn to her captor. Maybe because he’s strong, intelligent, and caring, in his enigmatic sort of way. One thing she knows, he’s not going to hurt her. If only she could remember something from her past that would explain why these Drakon’s hate her so much.
But if her memory returns, mated or not, he may get his war.. And one of them will die.

This ‘Blood of the Drakon story is a wonderfully suspenseful and emotionally gripping star-crossed romance that holds readers in its grip right from the start. The chemistry between Jericho and Karina is off the charts hot while the romance is sweet but filled with many obstacles due to Karina’s memory loss. The emotional turmoil is also off the charts as Jericho has to fight with dragon over whether to claim Karina because consequences could be devastating and Karina’s angst has two parts – the first due to her memory loss and all upheaval that comes from being attracted to her capture, but more emotional angst comes from betrayal and secrets that come unraveled as her memory starts to return.
This fast paced story is full of nail biting suspense that truly holds readers in a kind of suspended animation as they await the outcome of Jericho’s so called simple plan and his attraction to the enemy which of course is complicated due to his brothers in arms’ emotional outrage at the delay in their plan. Readers can’t help but enjoy this overcoming of all odds romance where reaching for a happily ever after could prove to be disastrous.
What a set up! Jericho Drake, a bad ass biker dragon shifter assassin sets out to kill the leader of the Knights of the Dragon, an organization that captures and tortures dragons for their magical blood. But when he meets his target, he discovers she’s mate. What’s an an assassin to do?
Throw in a little amnesia, magical tattoos, a family you’d never want to be a part of, and you get quite a few twists and turns.
Love the series!!
I loved this book and would recommend it to someone who wants a book they couldn’t put down. The emotions of the characters are believable and the personalities are multi-dimensional. The chemistry between the lead characters is steamy and exciting.
I need more of Walters.
N.J. Walters @shahlasworld
Drakon’s Knight by N.J. Walters is book 7 in the Blood of the Drakon Series. This is the story of Karina Azarov and Jericho Drake. This can be a standalone book but the series has a underlining on going story, past characters do make an appears in this book.
Karina is the head of the Knights of the Dragon and while driving her car is and she is taken by a Drakon. When she wakes up she doesn’t remember much. Jericho was sent to kill Karina but he starts to realize that she is his mate. Karina starts to figure things out but can these two who are suppose to be enemies be something more?
Love Ms. Walters writing and love this series.
When I first saw that the female lead for Drakon’s Knight was none other than Karina Asarov, my first instinct was total disbelief, honestly, how is that going to work? The leader of the Knights of the Dragon, who we’ve seen through the entire series as a cold, hard, ruthless woman, a drakon’s mate? No way!
I should have had faith in this author. Drakon’s Knight ended up being one of my favourites of this series. The totally conflicted, but at the same time, completely loyal, Jericho and Karina are wonderful together. Karina’s story, how she became the woman that she was, and why she is how she is now, was well done, and in the World of the Drakons, completely believeable.
I really, really enjoyed this addition to the Blood of the Drakons series, but I would recommend that you read at least the first two books in the series first. The first book sets the scene and provides the background information needed for this story. The second book introduces a character, that is also very important to this book.
Drakon wants to kill the leader of the Knights of The Dragon, but when he crashes the car Karina is in he finds himself in a big predicament, his dragon side claimed her as his mate. Karina on the other hand, has no memory after the accident. This book was excellent, the chemistry between the characters is steamy good and I am just wanting to read more from this author.
What a good book! Karina’s life isn’t what she has believed it to be. Betrayal is always a bitter pill when fed to you by those you trust. This is a very well written story with a happy ending. I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley and freely leave this honest review.
As this book doesn’t have a number I’m assuming it’s book seven in the Drakon series.
I’ve read books 1 and 4 there is a little story going on from book to book, but I don’t think it makes too much difference to the story.
Jericho has lived with hate for the society (Knights of the Dragon) for as long as he can remember, and now he wants a war. Kill the leader and a war will definitely start. His target is simple ….
Poor Karina can’t remember who she is and how she got here. (A car accident has given her amnesia) But looking at the man in front of her, she knows she is safe with him.
He isn’t happy, his dragon half has claimed this bloody enemy as its mate, and once a mate is chosen, he can’t harm her….
Jericho needs to distrust Karina, she is his sworn enemy, but looking at her he sees another side to her, maybe she isn’t the evil that he thinks she is, but he can’t get past his hatred of the society. He’s suppose to kill her and start a war.
And what happens if and when Karina regains her memory, will she be able to look past the dragon to see the man? Or will she see the killer of her family and friends? Or will she use the fact his dragon can’t kill her and gain information for the society?
Again another good story, plenty of action and suspense. The characters weren’t as good as some of the other stories I’ve read. Karina felt a little one dimensional and I didn’t really connect with Jericho.
Karina Asarov is head beatch of the Knights of the Dragon. She has been the shadow of most of the Drakon. But she has felt…wrong for a while now. She knows her team are lying to her and she wants to get to the bottom of it. But before she can her convoy is attacked and she is carried off by the very people she wants to annihilate. But will she be able to survive when she realises her whole world is a carefully constructed sham?
Jericho was supposed to kill Karina but he finds himself drawn to the killer! His team can’t understand the attraction until they realise that she is his mate! But life gets more complicated when Karina suffers from amnesia due to the accident and it is revealed that her long lost sister is the mate of another Drakon!
Slow paced romance, even with the instant attraction between them. Karina is the woman we have loved to hate so far but you soon realise that she has been as much a victim as the Drakon. The Asarov clan are completely rotten!
Hope to here more from Jericho and his motley crew!
This book is a part of the Blood of the Drakon’s series and I would absolutely read those book’s before you read this one!! Otherwise you will probably be confused and not understand what is going on in this one, or understand the things that are spoken about. This one is about Jericho Drake and Karina Azarov. Jericho has a plan with some of his fellow Drakon’s to take out the head of the Knight’s of the Dragon once and for all. But in the process of trying to execute that plan Karina, who is the leader, loses her memory and doesn’t even know why she has been taken. And when his dragon decides that she is his mate, it just makes the situation even worse.
I absolutely loved this book!! Reading about Karina in the previous books made me really dislike her, and I was extremely leery about her getting her own book. But this author definitely pulled it off and in a way that makes you love it! I don’t want to say too much because it will give away things that are talked about and are a part of the storyline. But definitely loved every minute of it and the introduction of these new characters! Now I need their stories!! Great read!
My Thoughts – 5 out of 5 Unicorns – I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I loved this book, and I will be buying it since already own the rest of the series!
The cover is mysterious and beautiful.
This is the 7th book in this series. It is not necessary to read the books in order, but you may find you want to read them in order because characters do pop up from previous books. I know I like when you know the history and who’s who. This is for adults only due to the steamy content and violence.
Jericho has a plan that they have under way, but fate has different plans. Karina doesn’t know who she is, but she knows she isn’t a good person or at least she wasn’t. She is trying to figure out who she is, and Jericho is trying to figure out how to handle what is going on. There is secrets and treachery afoot. This book grabbed my attention, and I couldn’t put it down. I love this new group of drakons. They are brothers of the heart. This book had plenty of drama, action, and secrets. I can’t wait to read more about them, and to see what the bad guys do next.
I highly recommend to all dragon shifter fans because this world has everything you want! N.J. Walters writes an awesome world that I love getting lost in! I love my trips into her world! I need more!
First of all, I LUUURRRRVVVEEE DRAGONS!!! Anyone who has read my reviews know that I love these beautiful and dangerous beings to pieces. Who doesn’t love a Dragon? They are all possessive, roaring fire and sweeping graces with their immense wingspan, damn but I love them!
Anyway this is my first read by NJ Walters and though there is a bit of back story to these characters, I did not feel lost. So Karina is a baddie to these beloved Dragons, and needles to say her amnesia is not fooling any of them. Until Jericho, leader of the Drakons, tasked to kill her, realizes she is his mate. Now poor Karina realizes that something is wrong, she did things but alas she cannot remember. Filled with action, fast paced scenes, some minor angst, OTT alpha-ness, hot sex and HEA make for an awesome read! Truly enjoyed it and I cannot wait to see the future of the other Drakon characters!!! 4.5 stars****
****I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book provided by Entangled Publishing through NetGalley******
I didn’t realize this was part of a series so needless to say I was never lost or confused by the story line. I absolutely loved this book! Kick a$$ alphas and tough heroines are my thing, but N.J. Walters not only revealed the tough leader that Karina Azarov had always been but a very vulnerable side of her also. She thought she kept it well hidden, but Jericho, as her fated mate, saw right through her. I appreciated the fierce loyalty amongst this ragtag band of “brothers” and only wish I’d been aware of this series from the beginning.
One of the things I appreciate about NetGalley and the authors and publishing companies it is associated with is the opportunity I get to read books by authors I have never come across and I really enjoyed this title by N.J. Walters.
Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the opportunity to review an arc of this book. My opinion is strictly my own.
This is Book 7 in the Blood of the Drakon series. This can be read as a stand-alone, but I would recommend reading the first books in the series so that you can understand the background story. Karina is the head of the Knights of the Dragon. She ends up with amnesia due to a car wreck and this is when she meets Jericho who was sent to kill her. Jericho just happens to be a Drakon. The chemistry between the two of them is awesome. And now Jericho knows she’s his mate and he can’t kill her. This is such a good book. There’s a lot of mystery and suspense happening when things don’t appear to be what they had all thought. The romance is hot and steamy. You won’t be bored by anything happening in this book. I just want to tell everyone to just go buy it. You can’t help but like it once you start reading. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book that I received from Netgalley.
I loved this story! The action, the suspense, the mystery, the magic, and, of course, the fated mate, who is the worst possible person to be a fated mate. I mean really, the head of the organization to hunt down Drakon’s. But Jericho feels it, Karina feels the pull, but they have trust issues, and for good reasons. Even when it should all come together, it all falls apart. That is the best thing about family though, real family, they catch you when you fall, and they hold things together so you can figure yourself out!
