“She and the people of Drake’s Rift neve expected”
I haven’t read the book but I assume that neve was supposed to be never and
I wouldn’t recommend a book that has errors in it advertisement.
I read this set almost backward (it may have been written that way). Good, strong characters that are not perfect. Plenty of action but also enough plot twists to keep it from being too predictable. Liked the other two books also.
Never heard of economy of words
I read the book 4 to 5 weeks ago. When asked to rate the book I had to go back and skim the book to remember the plot line and characters. Shallow character development and uninteresting antagonists.
Plot line is similar to other books in series but with some different twists. Spoiler alert. Guy and girl are caught in a dangerous situation and fall in love.
Kind of flat- lots of action and romance but predictable. I liked the ending though.
Excellent world building along with a rousing military gangbuster
Good character development, action and deliverability.
The good guys are well-trained, brave, have a strong sense of duty. Their commander is very imaginative in his strategy and tactics.
A great book to escape with
Although there were a number of spelling errors, the author has a good grasp of Marine Corps and Navy structure and terminology to make this story come alive. There was enough character development for the reader to get to know the main characters and want more.
Lots of battle scenes. A bit too many for my taste but well done.
ok, not great, science not well thought out
I enjoyed this book. Refreshingly new yet almost retro. Good read.
Exceptionally well written series. I was sorry when I reached the last book.
I loved it. Bought two more
An ok story, somewhat juvenile
If you want to read a stand alone SF space opera book (although there is the possibility of more in the series, the book ended with everything pretty much resolved), you should like this. There is ground fighting and space ship fleet combat. At the end of the book the author explains that some of the battles are based on real ground & ship battles. There is some romance.
Ok read, predictable good-guy saves the world and gets the girl, but in a believable sci-fi way reminiscent of the Zulu wars. Lacks development of the antagonist, but not terribly so.
Recommend all of Nate’s books
