Fast paced, action packed reading. Worth staying up hours to read. Readers will especially enjoy the characters.
I’m having a hard time getting into this plot.
This is the first book i have read by this author. Agent Rawlings is new on the job and is sent with his partner Beth Harper to Chicago to track down a serial killer. The killer drained his victims in a unique way that i hadn’t seen before. Agent Rawlings was my favorite character probably because of the relationship with his wife. Overall, it was a enjoyable and interesting read
Hank is likable but a little bland. The story is somewhat vanilla, focusing on the mundane aspects of investigating with attention to insignificant detail. Better editing might help. First book in a series I think so it could be interesting to see where the character goes.
Not the vampire novel that one might believe, but a fairly decent detective novel.
Just when you think you’ve heard of all of the scary things that can happen to women who meet men they’ve met on an internet dating service.
I loved this book and would recommend it to everyone
Enjoyable
Wished characters were more developed. Wrapped up quickly.
This was a good book. I enjoyed it. The author is a very good writer. Kimberlye Gatewood
Easy to read murder mystery with a likable character. Enjoying the series
Got confusing with too many names of the victims etc…believability was a stretch and sketchy…also, makes women look naive and stupid.
Didn’t grab me at all.
Really like his writing style
Quick and easy read. Cardboard characters not well developed and little tension of twists in the plot line.
The story was just kind of odd. A rather unusual fetish for a serial.
“Drained” starts by introducing the serial killer, Brett Bailor, a man who invites women to his home, drugs their wine, and once they pass out, drains their blood. He eventually leaves their bodies in dumpsters. Then we meet new FBI agent Hank Rawlings, his partner Beth Harper, and their superior, Agent Ball. Rawlings and Harper are sent from Virginia, their main FBI office, to Chicago, where a murderer has started killing women by draining their blood. Eight years before, the killer was being investigated by Harper but never found. The story goes back and forth between the murderer and his new victims and the FBI agents attempting to find him. The reader keeps wondering if the killer will slip up and finally be caught or if he will take another hiatus and just disappear. I could not put the book down until I reached the end.
Ok, kind of drug on at the end.
I put all the pieces together a little too soon, but didn’t feel like it was a chore to still finish the book. Good character interaction.
Pretty good, I wanted to keep reading.
