“Red coated his lips, vibrant against that ivory skin. He was the devil incarnate, dressed impeccably in Armani, and I had never seen a sight more terrifying.” When diagnosed with a fatal illness at the age of twenty six, Eleanor Gray is resigned to her fate—at least until the enigmatic Dublin Helos appears and makes her an offer she knows she should refuse:Life or Death? With a decision as … a decision as harmless as checking the wrong box on a mysterious questionnaire, Ellie is plunged into a dangerous world where souls are sold to the highest bidder and pleasure is fueled by pain.
The rules of this new life are simple: submit everything—mind, body and soul. But the further Ellie falls under Dublin’s control, the more she comes to realize that it’s not just her sanity at stake, but her heart and a whole lot of blood too.

Drain Me (The Ellie Gray Chronicles Book 1) by Lana Sky
Eleanor (Ellie) Gray is the dowdy Gray sister who has always fell beneath the radar. A reclusive heiress who doesn’t venture far from her comfortable life in the walls of Gray Manor. No friends and the only family would rather jet around the world away from her.
Dublin Helos is tall, blonde, beautiful and a broker of souls. He is cold to the touch with a temperament to match. Most fear him or just the mention of his name.
Eleanor has been told by her doctor that she is dying due to a rare blood disease. Now with an expiration date it puts her life in perspective, and she realizes that she hasn’t lived much at all. When you have been sick for so long you don’t really look to the future, but she doesn’t even live for the moment much if at all. Dublin shows up to offer her a bargain. He tells her that she must decide whether she wants to live or to die but choose wisely. Once she chooses there is no going back. All he wants in return is her soul. How much is your soul worth, a day, a week? With more time she can put her affairs in order and make sure that her younger sister and cat are taken care of. What happens when Dublin wants more than just her soul but her body and mind as well? He wants to show her that pleasure can come from pain, pain can remind her that she is alive. He doesn’t want the meek woman that she shows the world but the woman he sees. He must push her into a corner before he can see her bit by bit. The one that when he tastes her blood turns her into fire and makes her taste sweeter.
With Lana’s other books she has twists and turns but this one has an even bigger universe to pull from since it’s all in her head. She has taken vampires into a new light and made them her own with a unique perspective. Eleanor has been used by so many throughout her life that she feels she is only her name or her money. When someone like Dublin comes into her life, she almost doesn’t believe that someone like him could be interested in just her. Dublin chose her because he thought she would be easy to control but she isn’t. Dublin isn’t used to people questioning him, ever and Eleanor always does. Instead of letting her in he pushes her away with cruel stories of his past, but she defends him at each time. The longer she is with him the more cracks he finds in his armor against her. Sooner or later they won’t be able to hold against her and it scares the hell out of him.
Love pnr and love Lana’s writing. This book kept my attention right from the beginning. Eleanor is dying so she decided to sell her soul to the devil in hopes that he can save her life. So good. I loved the narration by Bree she really makes the book come to to life.
This was unlike any Vampire romance I have ever read. Eleanor isn’t beautiful or special, Dublin isn’t even a little bit nice or kind. I felt like it was an exercise in humiliation for Eleanor . And I loved it in a perverse way! I’m sick okay? The sex was off the charts hot and I cannot wait to read the 2nd book in the series to see if Dublin can redeem himselfYou have to read this gem, It is raw!
This is a dark story that can contain lots of triggers but it really keeps you in your toes. I can’t wait to see what happens next!!!
This is the first book in The Ellie Gray Chronicles, a Dark Vampire Romance. This is a complex introduction to this Duet. Eleanor (Ellie) and Dublin’s story is original and intriguing. Ellie is naive, reserved, and diffident. She is dying, and she made a deal with the devil. Dublin, a vampire, is Dark, powerful, confident, complex, intriguing, and intense. They are totally opposites attract, and they share an unexpected attraction, and a sizzling hot chemistry. The characters are great, and well developed. The gothic world building is dark, original, and complex. The storyline is captivating, and twisted. The story didn’t grab me right away, and it took me a little while to get hooked, but I am so glad I stuck with it. Now, I would love to listen to the next book in the Duet, Chain Me, to know what happens next. Bree Elaine did a superb job with the narration. She has a beautiful voice, easy to understand.
The best vampire book I’ve ever read. Can’t wait for book two!
This book was so good and totally different from other vampire books. As always Lana keeps us on our toes. This book has everything: suspense, mystery and hot sex scenes. It is absolutely amazing!!!
I really enjoyed this book. In some ways it was just what I expected but in others it was a surprise. The story was intriguing and I found the characters complex. The heroine, Ellie was one of the surprises that I didn’t see coming. I thought she was original but easy to relate to and connect with. Dublin was enticing and compelling. The storyline quickly has you hooked with a powerful and enticing blend of drama, emotions, twists and steam that are all enrobed in a tempting coating of luscious darkness. I am so looking forward to book 2!!
Vampire stories are my weakness so this book slayed me. I love dark and gritty so of course this fit the bill perfectly
Enjoyed this book!
A good story, well written. The ending is very poor. Out of nowhere the Sister is the vampire hunter, not well thought out. No sense of closure.
I liked this book and was eager to read the continuing story. However, the second book isn’t out yet. This is frustrating and wish authors would release their complete series.
Spellbinding.
Loved it
Wow! Can you say book hangover?!?!? OMG! I loved this book so much. I still have a book hangover, and I have read another book already. I can’t wait for the conclusion of Ellie and Dublin’s story! The world Lana has created is so different from most vampire stories. I love the mystery and unknown. Even though Dublin tries to deny his connection to Ellie, his small actions showed his true feelings. I have so many questions for the series that I need answered! Lana you need to hurry up with the next book!
Warning “Drain Me” will suck you in and leave you wanting more. I wasn’t quite sure how I felt about the main character, but I continued to read and am left wanting more. After all the twists and turns ups and down I’ve been sucked into this dark and gritty story wanting more, more, more. What happens next? Seriously, I need the sequel. I’m going Bat $#*+ crazy waiting for the next book. L-A-N-A!!
This is a epic story telling about the h becoming slowly then plunged into awareness of the dark ones and the world set by this author. This world setup is described over the 500 pages of engaging, intriguing, suspenseful, scary, passionate and confusing interactions. Some information but never the whole truth is in the explanations given to questions and the heroine’s conclusions, that keep changing until the end. The ending concludes with overwhelm and angst because the dark ones, vampires, live by there own agenda and lifestyle in their view of humans and other categories of people . Not sure what all that entails or if any vamps or the humans can be trusted The author keeps the whole truth about these vamps with a business like lifestyle and side plots of who or what role was or is being played involving the heroine. The heroine is vulnerable, inexperienced, trying to deal with health issues, changing relationships, and a chance to be her own person but finds her mother’s voice and other’s reactions to her choices are given more weight then what she wants to see herself as. Close to death experiences with increasing desire to physically, emotionally, and sexual be in a vamp relationship. Confusing, not letting the reader know where this is going. Giving an ending with again a temporary conclusions and an introduction to a vampire hunter and the the heroines own secret family history. The intensity and passion is the same as with the Biblical God in that He demands his people to give themselves with all their heart, mind , soul and body and have no other gods before Him. And there is a second book coming out.
