Self-proclaimed science nerd and pharmaceutical botanist, Eilís Blair, finally landed her first field assignment, and not just any old research project—a year on Scotland’s Out Skerries studying plant life and ancient druidic healing practices. However, her nervous excitement is dampened when she’s seated beside a class-A jerk on her flight. Eilís is shocked when said jerk turns up on the same … ferry as her and accuses her of stalking him!
Rock-star Harte Lawson has everything a man could want fame, fortune, and swarms of women he knows exactly how to satisfy. He also has a huge scaly secret—he’s a dragon-shifter. Once a year, under the moon of his birth sign, Harte returns to his ancestral home to guard the inhabitants of Draíochtia from outsiders. Especially ones claiming to be scientists.
Harte doesn’t know what to make of the woman who has his dragon rolling over and begging for belly rubs. Eilís is either a Hunter attempting to infiltrate his homeland or worse… his mate. One thing is for certain, he needs to put some distance between them and fast. When the woman falls into the North Sea, he has no choice but to break a sacred law and bring her across the magical boundary protecting Draíochtia. The druids will decide her fate…until then Harte must determine if she’s out to destroy his people or claim his heart.

She is a scientist on a plane on her way to an assignment. Along comes a rock star who is a dragon. He is also moody, suspicious of her and more. Things happen that not only tell him she is his mate (which he questions) and other things. He saves her and then things get even more interesting. I was given a review copy from booksprout and voluntarily review it.
Love this Celtic inspired romance. She may be extremely smart but she is also clueless. How could such a fan not realize she is sitting next to her rock idol? But he isn’t all that great to her and I don’t blame her for not noticing. The story definitely starts them out with a pretty rocky relationship and it doesn’t get better anytime soon. One rock idol who is also a dragon shifter may need to rethink who he is and what he wants. Story has lot of action and some bad guys out to kill some shifters. But it is a romance so expect things to sweeten.
I was really enjoying the story until the convenient plot twist. If it had been hinted in the beginning it would have been better but I still enjoyed the story. The characters were both likable in the end even if the hero was a coward and an ass about his feelings for the majority of the book. Enjoy.
***I decided to review an ARC of this book.***
Eilis and Harte, wow!!!! She was a strong character so full of confidence and wonder. He was the bruting rock star shifter that was lost. Together they found each others love and life. It was such a great story!!!

Nerdy scientist Eilís Blair is sent to a remote island in Scotland to research their flora. On the way she sees a man falling off a ferry and when she tries to help him she also falls into the rough and cold waters. The man, a dragon shifter, who hails from a nearby enchanted island tries to help her when hypothermia sets in, but is attacked. Roles reverse and it is Eilis who finally rescues him. Both recognize a bond, but both have their own reasons to not want the mate bond to form. Fate has to work hard to get these two stubborn people together.
A well-written and entertaining story with a few surprises.

Wow, this book was fantastic ! It is seen from the view point of a scientist. How will the druids be seen from this view point ? It is well written and the author sucks the reader into the story by using emotions. The book is fast paced and doesn’t leave the reader waiting for long, wondering what is occurring. This was a great book. You go from a bad meeting on a flight, to being mates! How does that work out? Even if said guy is rich and a cutie? He was still a jerk – hopefully the attitude adjustment came quick with the rescue. The book was great. I loved the intrigue.
