It’s a simple mission, right? Not a thing. Go, meet the new group of massive alien-dragon Zmaj warriors who call themselves ‘The Order’, make friendly and come home with everyone on good terms and willing to work together. Survival on Tajss is hard, everyone needs more allies, it’s a no-brainer. Easy. No problem whatsoever. The perfect opportunity to put my natural skills to work!Except nothing … work!
Except nothing could have prepared me for him.
Big. His muscles have muscles. Wings, that tail, colorful scales but more than anything those eyes! The way they burn when he looks at me, smoldering, calling to every dirty instinct my body has. If that was all maybe I’d be okay, but he’s cracking the shields of my heart too.
I’m in trouble in a lot more ways than one.

I enjoyed reading this book , it has a good storyline. This book is filled with action and intrigue, the interaction and chemistry between the characters is wonderful. I can’t wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
I really enjoyed this book. But for the 1 God’s name in vain, my great desire for more story and a few errors, this would have been a 5 star book for me. This story was so well written that even a few errors did not throw me out of it. The descriptions were great and the dialogue was very believable. I felt like I was there(in a non-peeping Tom way). My adventure was magically delicious!

Walking into the lab, Ashlee’s shoulders slump and her feet drag. Every day, she dreads the monotony of her job. Science should be exciting – why wasn’t it? Even her butt was going numb on the hard stool! Errol, the resident “mad dragon scientist” visiting from the Tribe, greeted her. The Tribe is another group of Zmaj dragon-warriors that live in a cave system outside of the City. She turned back to the meteorite glass on the bench in front of her. This batch of glass was different, but they still had no idea of how to use the difference. The mindless repetition is so very boring, even if done for the greater good of all! So when Sarah came in to tell her Rosalind wanted to talk to her, she could hardly keep the grin off her face and enthusiasm out of her voice as she jumped up and followed her out of the lab!
Hoping every step of the way for something new to do, Ashlee enters Rosalind’s office. She and her mate are both waiting and ask Ashlee – who can hardly keep from jumping up and spinning around in glee — how she would feel about accompanying Nora and Archion back to the Order. Archion is a powerful, highly-trained warrior hero who has helped fight against the Invaders. But they all knew little about the “Order” he came from. They need Ashlee to be a detached, objective observer and get information about the surroundings and people she meets, the hope being that this new group of Zmaj will be good allies. With Nora romantically involved with Archion, they don’t feel comfortable relying on just her judgment.
Ashlee is surprised at her reaction when she meets Archion’s brother, Khal. Their attraction is strong, their chemistry immediate. The hope was that the Order would become trustworthy allies, yet they seem hostile for some unexplainable reason. The Councilor wants both women sent away, even knowing that Nora is Archion’s life mate. When Nora’s reaction at Khal’s telling them they must leave is to get sick all over the rug, Ashlee screams at Khal that Nora is pregnant with Archion’s baby. A shocked Khal runs back to inform the Councilor – this may change things! And while everyone reacts to the news, Khal, begins to wonder if his own strange feelings mean that he has just found his mate too! With that major complication, he tries to follow the Order’s wishes by staying away from Ashlee. Will she have to return to her group and leave him behind? Will the Order decide to join them and become allies? Where will the next step take them?
I love this series! And I love seeing more Zmaj which means many more books to come! The dragons we know are very real to the reader by now, kind and loving, yet fully competent, protective, and possessive males. The author presents each character to the reader so that the reader knows each one and feels a connection. This serious ultra-warrior group adds a whole new dimension to the Zmaj with a shift in focus and direction. Let this series draw you in. It really is an exhilarating adventure to enter their world!
This is Khal (new guy) and Ashlee’s book, but Nora and Archion are equally as major characters as they are. Even more important, we start to learn more about the mysterious Order and gain a sense that there is much more to the planet Tajss that we knew. Good book and exciting developments!
Ashlee is asked to go with Archion and Nora to meet the new group of Zmaj warriors who call themselves ‘The Order’. She’s then suppose to report back what she thought of them and if they would be willing to work with them. Since survival on Tajss is so difficult, having more allies is a good thing. But Ashlee wasn’t prepared to meet Archion’s brother, Kahl. He’s really big and hot! They’ve got chemistry that sizzles the pages. But the council of The Order is not exactly welcoming and Kahl is trying to keep his distance from Ashlee because of his duty to The Order.
I liked this book and it does further the story of the ongoing series. The characters are well written and the dialogue is interesting. I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author but my review is totally my own, without prejudice for or against the author.
