Dragon’s Pursuit is a novella in the Red Slaves Series by Tonya Cannariato. It has dragons, romance, battle scenes, action, adventure, some politics, different realms, a corrupt regime, paranormal beings/creatures, and more- all set in futuristic Russia.
This is Maxim Krempenski’s story- he is a political science student and dragon shifter. He’s working on his thesis and not too far away from earning his PhD- which he hopes to use as another means for his shifter family to survive. But his plans get waylaid, as he ends up at the Hotel Paranormal- which is where this story gets really interesting. Add a sexy undercover KGB agent into the mix and the sparks fly. Will Yuliya follow her orders and ultimately betray Max, or will her heart overrule her head?
This is a very short story, with a fast pace that made it really easy to read. Even though you could read this as a standalone, I recommend reading the other books in the series first, as you will have much more information to draw on- which will only improve your enjoyment of this story!
I hope there are more books/novellas yet to come.
Thank you, Ms. Cannariato!
I cannot tell you how much I love novellas. You get so much great background and this book is no exception. I love the story of max and yuliya and how so many details from the other books in the Red Slaves series just clicked while I was reading Dragon’s Pursuit. Tonya did such a great job with this and I want to read the whole series again and honestly it’s going to feel like the first time I read it with all the new background I now know. 10 out of 10 will read again and badger my friends until they read it too so I have people to talk about it with.
This book is so interesting! The ideas it introduces, how Maxim and Yuliya get together and start their adventure together. I hope there will be more Hotel Paranormal stories.
Dragon’s Pursuit: A Hotel Paranormal Novella is part of the Red Slaves series from Tonya Cannariato. It is a paranormal read with some romance and fantasy to keep you invested that much more. It has so much packed between the pages that there is never a dull moment.
This one takes place in Russia as the others in the series have but with some new storylines to devour. I would not recommend reading this novella until you have read the first few in the series and in order. Things are explained that are integral to understanding some things that are played out in this novel. We get the story of Maxim and Yuliya in this installment. Maxim is trying to get his political science doctorate. He needs to also maintain the safety and survival of his dragon family. Yuliya is an agent with the KGB. The KGB and dragons don’t mix usually. What will happen when these two find their paths intercepting? Will sparks fly in a good way?
I loved every moment of this book. I also enjoyed seeing other characters from the previous books and seeing where they were at in this one. I look forward to more from Tonya Cannariato and more in this series hopefully!
Dragon’s Pursuit: A Hotel Paranormal Novella by Tonya Cannariato is a paranormal, fantasy novel. This is a continuation in the world of the author’s Red Slaves series. This can be read as a standalone series. The Hotel Paranormal series is a group of stories from different authors that center in the Hotel Paranormal. This story is a fun read and is led by Maxim who is a Ph.D. candidate and student Yuliya. People are not whom they seem and then there is the paranormal aspect. The Russian setting is interesting and allows you to delve into this fantasy future. The story is not as smooth as others in the series but overall an enjoyable read.
Dragons Pursuit By Tonya Cannariato is the fourth book in the red slaves series. It is an interesting continuation of the series. I definitely recommend reading the other three books for background and I think they are pretty good and deserve to be read as well. Overall I liked the book and think the author did a good job. The story was well written and It was entertaining. The politics did get confusing but it was still good and worth the read. I would rate this as 4 stars.

Dragon’s Pursuit: A Hotel Paranormal Novella is the fourth book in the Red Slaves series by Tonya Cannariato, and this series just keeps getting better and better. This series encompasses many genres from fantasy, paranormal, shifter, romance and suspense. Following the story of Maxim Krempenski, who is a dragon shifter, and a brilliant student in Moscow. Max works hard to make sure that no one finds out that he and his family are all shifters, and this continues to work for him until one night when he meets Yuliya. She is a student in one of Max’s TA classes. Yuliya is keeping a secret about why she is wanting to spending time with Max, but there is something about her that draws Max in. The deeper this two get into each other, other secrets come to light Max and Yuliya will have to work together to bring down some of the most powerful people who will stop at nothing to tear them apart. Cannariato is an old favorite of mine, having found her with this series I couldn’t get enough of it. If you are looking for a great series full of mystery, intrigue, romance, and suspense than this is the series for you! I can’t wait to see what Cannariato has in store for her readers in the future.
Dragons Pursuit by Tonya Cannariato is the fourth book in her Red Slaves series. This book is a novella that forms part of the series and follows Max, a student sent to the Hotel Paranormal.
Max is determined to finish his thesis and get his PHD in order to help his clan. Only he didn’t plan on the elders sending him to be hotel instead. Once there he meets fellow student Yuliya, who has a hidden agenda that could end up being more trouble than its worth.
This novella is a great addition to this series as a whole. Although short it is action packed and interesting from the word go. It was great to read about Max and Yuliya as it gives a whole new perspective to the series. They were well written and dynamic. Definitely worth a read.
