Dragon’s Pursuit
By Tonya Cannariato
4 stars
I thought that this was a fast paced and well written story by Tonya Cannariato. I enjoyed reading more about the dragon world. If you haven’t read the Red Slaves series then I absolutely recommend that you do, it will help you understand this novella a little better. I thought that the characters were well thought out. I think the only little issue I have with this book is that it was a little choppy at times; however it definitely didn’t take away my enjoyment of the story at all. The setting for the story was really good too and I would definitely like to read the series that this book links in to – Hotel Paranormal. I really liked Maxim and Yuliya and enjoyed reading their story. There were some good twists and turns.
A really great novella and addition to the Red Slaves series, I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope there is more to come from this author in the future.
Dragons Pursuit
Red Slaves Novella book four
Tonya Cannariato
4 stars
Tonya has done it again with a detailed description novel. Right in the heart of Russia and many different cities we see the characters enter made you feel like you were there.
This story revolves around Maxim and Yuliya. Max is being hunted by the KGB while he tries to save himself and the rest of his Dragon family. Yuliya is aiming for approval from her father to progress her carer by hunting and attempting to capture the dragons.
Again fast paced and draws you in, was slightly disappointed in some of transitions through certain parts of the storyline as found confusing and not as smooth as previous book.
Overall another terrific paranormal romance
Dragon Pursuit by Tonya Cannariato

I like the story but it was so wordy(I feel like that’s not a word lol). I liked that the characters all had growth. The details about Russia were so great I thought I was really there. The authors knowledge truly shined in this book. This was my favorite amongst all of the Red Slave books. There are spy’s and corrupted political figures. Max is so brilliant. How he juggles all he does I have no clue. I didn’t like Yuliya all that much. She did have a strong character and she began to start thinking for herself and not just believing what her father said. There is so much going on in this story. All the history and different dimensions is a little overwhelming. I don’t mind long books I just don’t like word feeling sometimes less is more.
Dragon’s Pursuit by Tonya Cannariato
5 Stars!!!!!
This series just keeps getting better and better. I love dragons. This fourth book in the series just keeps the series on the up and up. The world that the author has built just keeps getting better and better and is getting bigger.
I really liked the whole out of bounds love theme to this book to be refreshing. I like how Yuliya is basically the enemy but turns out to be Max’s mate. This threw quite the best twist to this story. I really enjoyed how the author built everything up to the climax. There was a bit of a bit of a roller coaster of emotions when you realize Yuliya’s dad is the proper bad guy but I like how the drama comes to a head . I really look forward to reading more from this author and more from this series as it is one of my top 10 favorites and a series I will read over and over again.
Dragon’s Pursuit by Tonya Cannariato is the 4th book in the Red Slaves series. This book is a 5-star action packed novel.
I loved this book along with the characters and the story line. My favorite part of the book is reading about Russia and learning about the different places the characters visit. The supernatural aspects of the book are very detailed and explained and the book really pulls you into the story as if you are there in the background watching everything unfold.
Max is being chased by a KGB agent, Yuliya. They stumble across a hotel that as supernaturally appeared, and the two are thrust together. Yuliya is supposed to be hunting Max to bring him in to her father, but changes her mind in the end and would rather help him than hurt him, but will her father stay away?
This was a great book with, action, romance, drama and paranormal aspects. All parts meshed very nicely together and made for a fun reading experience. I am right on track to check out more by this author and her intriguing stories.
Dragon’s Pursuit: A Hotel Paranormal Novella (Red Slaves Book 4)
By: Tonya Cannariato
5 out of 5 stars
The story Dragon’s Pursuit: A Hotel Paranormal Novella (Red Slaves Book 4) by Tonya Cannariato is a paranormal/fantasy/romance book. You can’t help but be swept up in the adventure, magic, and danger that the story has. The story takes place in Russia and a magical place called The Hotel Paranormal. I loved the attention to detail when reading about the Hotel and what it looked like. It sounds like a place I would love to stay in. From the very beginning the book hooked me in and I didn’t want to put it down until I had read the final page. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Maxim and Yuliya. Maxim is looking to earn his political science Ph.D. He wants to make sure his dragon shifting family survives. Yuliya is an agent of the KGB who is looking to advance her career. Their lives are very different however they have now intersected. What happens between this two has me believing in the power of magic. Read to find out if Maxim and Yuliya have a future together. The story has new characters that you are introduced to and also ones that have been brought forward from other books. There are characters that manipulate and are on a power grab. Will they be stopped? The story is a novella and while it may be a little shorter than some it is not short on excitement. This is a series that I would recommend reading in order. I read it that way and I found my reading experience to be a smooth one. Now that I have finished this story I am hoping for another book in the series.
Dragon’s Persuit by Tonya Cannariato is the next installment in the Red Slaves Series, but with an interesting new twist and comes as a novella.
I love that we get to continue this series, but with a newer younger generation – and that we get to see where the author is taking it. I have to say that getting more of a paranormal touch piqued my interest.
Once again, Tonya impresses her readers with her ability to write a tale and allow it to flow with its characters seamlessly. This was definitely a 4 Star Book for me.
Dragon’s Pursuit is the fourth installment of the Red Slaves series by Tonya Cannoriato. This book captured me from the beginning to the end. The details that Ms. Cannariato puts to create her world and characters. The pace to this story was a quick action pack story with the paranormal mixed in. Ms. Cannariato loves to give you twists and turns when you are not expecting them. The other aspect to this story is the amount of research that was completed to write in detail about Moscow. It is always nice to see the cities/countries through another person’s perspective. I would recommend reading the other Red Slaves books this will help with someone the back stories.
a great read about focus. Max is trying to concentrate on his thesis defence with high stakes to protect his kind. but when he goes to a hotel, fate decides to disrupt his plans as one of his students Yuliya is more than she seems. will he be able to focus on his defence or will it be too late?
a great read. well developed plot with twists and turns. a great addition to the series as a standalone short story that shows the effects of the trilogy on other characters. well developed characters like Maxs irritation but caring nature underneath or Yuliya going for what she wants. I loved the visual detail with simple settings which added to the every day feel of the novella. the use of indirect speech was unusual but worked well and was done perfectly. overall, a great read and I would give it five stars
Dragons Pursuit is a Hotel Paranormal novella and also book 4 in the Red Slaves series written by Tonya Cannariato. I have not read any of the Hotel Paranormal Series but after this it will be on my to do list. After reading the previous stories in the Red Slaves series I had all the background information I needed about dragons however it’s not 100% necessary to understand this story. Maxim is trying to save himself and his family who are dragons. Yuliya is trying to advance her career in the KBG hunting and capturing dragons. Fortunately for them both fate and the elder God’s have other plans and intervene so that Maxim and Yuliya can get to know and understand each other. The characters are well written however I liked the depth and transition better in the previous Red Slave stories. This one seemed a little rushed or trying to fit too much into a novella as simple as possible while still keeping it a novella. Overall I still liked the story and I’m looking forward to seeing what’s next in the Hotel Paranormal world.
Dragon’s Pursuit: A Hotel Paranormal Novella (Red Slaves Book 4) is an action packed standalone in both the Red Slaves novels as well as part of the Hotel Paranormal series. This book takes place in the not too distant future in Russia and follows the story of Maxim, a young dragon shifter trying to protect his family from a revamped KGB, and Yuliya, a young KGB agent tasked with observing and ultimately detaining Maxim on suspicion of terrorism. When these two opposing characters are transported to the famed Hotel Paranormal they quickly learn that things aren’t what they appear. This was a very fast paced read that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. It’s got something for everyone in the reading world. Characters are all well thought out and detailed nicely. While it is a Novella it isn’t rushed, you get a full picture of the story and I didn’t feel like it lacked anything. A solid four star read and a fun introduction to both series’ it’s a part of.
Dragon’s Pursuit a Red Slaves Novella by Tonya Cannariato takes us further in to the future where one’s learning and teachings brings danger closer than he knew. The safety of his type is still in peril and as the mystery and drama unfold we find that the life he hopes to bridge may never happen. What he does find is the one thing he is not looking for and how is he to trust when she is the enemy, nut could she be more than she seems. This paranormal story continues with the magic and mayhem and dragons and should not be missed.
Dragon’s Pursuit; A Hotel Paranormal Novella
(Red Slaves #4)
By Tonya Cannariato
Rated 4 stars
This is the fourth book in the dragon slaves series. We find Maxim all grown up and going to university. He is working on his thesis and is a TA in Poli-sci department. One of his students is Yuliya, who works for her father, whose job is to find and detain Maxim for crimes against the Motherland. She is not so sure he is evil. She feels there could be good in Maxim.
Yuliya is so smart and has many changes during the course of this story. Meeting Maxim she starts thinking he is evil but as the story moves forward she realizes HE might not be the problem so she readjusts her thinking again.
The Hotel is so cool! It’s almost like the caves where Maxim is from always changing and adjusting to their whims or needs. I was hoping for more paranormal guests but only met a few.
This is a nice short story on the continuing story of Ivan And Anne’s child. This kept my interest and moved along nicely. This could be read as a stand-alone. There were connections to the past books but nothing that would hinder your enjoyment of this book.
Dragon’s Pursuit is a novella of the Red Slaves series by Tonya Cannariato. This is my fourth novel by this author.
Maxim Krempenski is a typical student at college trying to get his degree in political science. He is a Teacher Assistant and is getting his degree in order to his people that are dragons.
“His advisor, Stanislav Primakov, was forever encouraging him to have more of a social life. Somehow, Primakov thought interacting with his fellow students would put more context around Max’s research. Primakov had no way of knowing his star student was a dragon, attending university for the sole reason of researching whether there might be a reliable way to maintain legal status and protection for a hidden species in the face of ongoing efforts by the once and newly re-inaugurated KGB to enslave them.”
He meets a fellow student that is part of his group by the name of Yuliya Orlov. But there is more than meets the eye with Yuliya whose father believes that Max is a terrorist and wants him apprehended at all costs. When she fails to do, her father begins ranting about dragons. Of course she doesn’t believe him and helps Max escape instead.
What happens when she finds out the truth about Max and his family! Will she be able to save him from her father?
I thought that was a really interesting read. I enjoyed Max’s voice and narrative. While I was alittle confused on some parts of the book, I was engaged enough to keep going and find out what was going on.
I liked Max and Yuliya as characters. I enjoyed like that the novel was set in Russia because I don’t see that as a setting for many books.
For fans of paranormal, I recommend reading this along with the rest of the series.
Dragon’s Pursuit: A Red Slaves novella is a paranormal/fantasy by Tonya Cannariato and the fourth book in the Red Slaves series, I recommend reading the other books first but I feel like this could be read as a standalone. This novella is an exciting, fast paced read that you won’t be able to put down. Maxim is a dragon but also tries to keep his humanity, when he goes to Hotel Paranormal he meets Yuliya who is a KGB agent on assignment to capture Maxim. This novella has a but of everything, action, suspense, dragons and forbidden romance. A great fantasy read!
Dragon’s Pursuit: A Hotel Paranormal Novella is the fourth book in the Red Slaves series by Tonya Cannariato, and is a fantasy, paranormal, romance novella. The story is about a young man named Maxim Krempenski, who is a dragon shifter, a brilliant student at a university in Moscow, where he is working on his PhD in Political Science, and the year is 2045. Max is doing research to find out if “there is a reliable way to maintain legal status and protection for a hidden species in the face of ongoing efforts of the once and newly re-inaugurated KGB to enslave them.” Max has lived as a human for the eight years that he has been attending the university. While working on his preliminary oral thesis defense Max works at the university as a graduate teaching assistant. He doesn’t have much of a social life since he has to be careful that no one knows that he and his family are dragons. One evening after doing research in the university library, Max feels as if he is being watched. It is 2:00 am and he has been in the political science library for over three hours, and he is starving. He ducks down one of the side passages, finds a hallway that he’s never seen before, and runs through the fire escape door. The next thing Max knows is that he is now in a lavish lobby with a large fountain of the Paranormal Hotel.
The book is also about a young woman named Yuliya, who is a student in the class where Max is a teaching assistant. Yuliya’s father is a big shot in the Interior Ministry, and is also very rich. She is trying to advance in a career with the KGB, and has been ordered to keep an eye on Max. Yuliya is the person who Max felt was following him in the library. She knows that her father will not be happy that she has lost track of Max, since her father told her that he thinks that Max is a terrorist. But after Yuliya realizes that KGB agents are also following her, she feels that Max is not a terrorist, and feels that her father is trying to return Russia to its so called “glory days” by using supernatural power. Can Max and Yuliya join forces to prevent Yuliya’s father from gaining power as a new Tzar?
I really enjoyed this book by Tonya Cannariato. The story is an interesting continuation of the Red Slaves series that allows us to see what is happening with the next generation of the Krempenski family of dragon shifters. It also takes their story into a new direction with the introduction of the Paranormal Hotel, which is a fun idea complete with new magical characters. I’m excited to see where this series goes from here, and I definitely recommend this book.
This is my favorite so far yet in this series. I enjoy how this author is able to take a paranormal story and make me feel as if I am right there in the story. Her characters are both connectable and relateable. They took me on a journey of twists and turns that left me wanting to see what would happen next. I enjoyed how this story took place at a hotel just for the paranormal. There is a lot of action which makes it a fast reading book. I highly recommend this book.
I give Dragon’s Pursuit: A Hotel Paranormal Novella (Red Slaves Book 4) by Tonya Cannariato, 4 stars.
*This review may contain spoilers from previous books in the series.*
Maxim is a dragon, but like his mother, more in touch with his human side. He has gone to university and just wants to earn his degree. But it seems like everything is against him. Those looking to control the dragons have figured out who he is and wants him. Not to mention that the dragon elders have ideas for him too.
To escape, he ends up in a place called Hotel Paranormal. This is a new place to him and like nothing he has ever seen or heard of before.
Will he be able to avoid capture? What else will he have to do?
This is my favorite book of the series so far. I really like Maxim and the Hotel Paranormal was a wonderful addition. I would love to see more of this place. This story shows us the next generation of the family we have loved. I love this idea. The characters in this book are great and the story itself is very captivating and draws you in.
I highly recommend reading the rest of the series first, but this is a great series about dragon shifters.
Dragon’s Pursuit: A Red Slaves Novella (The Hotel Paranormal Series) by Tonya Cannariato was a fast pace, action packed read that had me flipping pages.
This was a super fun read from the Red Slaves universe, as well as a instalment in the Hotel Paranormal series. I haven’t read any books in that series, but I have read all of the Red Slaves books. I did some research and found out that the Hotel Paranormal series is a big collections of stories about this hotel, by different authors. So in saying that, you don’t need to read the other books to get this one, as well as, you don’t need to read the other Red Salves Books, or if you haven’t, you can pick this one up as it does take place outside of that realm. In saying that, I would suggest reading the other books in the Red Slaves series, as they will give you much needed background on the dragon world. And they are freaking outstanding.
One to this story, as I said it was fast, and I don’t know if this story was written in a hurry because the transitions were not as smooth as they are in the other books. It was a bit jumpy and made the flow choppy. Other then that, I did very much enjoy this read. There was a big of this forbidden romance thing going on, the bad guy(girl) going good. I liked that, and it has all the good feels. I like seeing when a characters have a change of heart, especially if it is a rick to their lives, or if they have to leave everything behind. In the case of our female MC, I believe she is truly a good person and didn’t hesitate to help Max.
Overall this was a perfect addition to the Red Slaves series, I always love another inside look into a world were the main story has ended. So please take my high recommendation that you will love this unique fast read that will bring to a place unlike you have every seen. The Hotel Paranormal series is an freaking fantastical idea. I love the setting and the way it throw our MC’s together. I loved the staff, and I’m defiantly going to check out other book in that series.
Happy Reading.

Dragon’s Pursuit is a novella within the Red Slaves series and it didn’t disappoint! After reading the other instalments of the Red Slaves series I was really excited to read this. I really liked Max’s character, but I also really loved seeing a powerful, successful female character within the story – Yuliya – and loved how her character develops so much throughout the novel. I thought that the use of free indirect discourse was amazing as it really aided my understanding of the characters, their reactions to the events of the novella and the story itself and the technique is really well executed. I absolutely loved the whole idea of the hotel, it was so clever and creative!! Overall, this is a great extension onto the Red Slaves series which is a very enjoyable read!
