What do you call an unarmed PPD officer in the middle of the Badlands? A victim.Chief Zeke Phoenix survived his funeral party…barely. Now survival turns into mayhem management as he works to turn his team’s begrudging respect into a force that’ll keep the Badlands in check. When an unmarked package hits his desk, mayhem turns to chaos. The package’s contents trigger a chain of events, leaving the … chain of events, leaving the only true law of the land understaffed, unarmed, and under attack.
They’re one major assault away from being wiped out.
But Zeke Phoenix isn’t about to let that happen.
Needing a new batch of weapons—and fast—Zeke leads his crew across the wasteland. Forced to join with assassin hellions, they battle a constant barrage of villainy. If that wasn’t bad enough, Zeke’s little brother is along for the ride.
The question is whether Babysitter Zeke and the Badlands PPD can survive this road trip before they crash and burn.

What a ride! If the personification of Chaos, after guzzling energy drinks and binge watching all of both Dukes of Hazzard and Fast & Furious, read this, he/she would still utter expletives in surprise. Badlands really is synonymous with “worst case scenario.” Outrageously fun.
What a ride
A naive dragon, who knew. This entire book takes place in just a couple days but those days are full of fights & car chases. Our team solidifies a little more, we meet Zeke’s mother & his little brother.
The adventure amps up a notch in the Badlands PPD when the bad guys get serious about shutting down the new Chief and his law and order ways. The A team has to put on their A game to make sure that some semblance of order can be returned to the Badlands. This story has non-stop action and plenty of humor. I’m already looking forward to the next installment to see what the team will do next.
Dragon’s Plight in my opinion is The Empire Strikes Back/Mad Max: Fury Road of
the series. Lots of action and chases, snark, and of course humor. You’ve GOT to
meet Zeke’s brother!
If like me you enjoy snark and twists and turns then you will enjoy this.

The guns or the end
The Badlands PPD has a problem and Zeke Phoenix with his A team need to solve it. Along with a few extra tag alongs it is a race to ‘munition up or die trying.
What do you do when you are fairly new on the job. You trust people and get a surprise.
Love Orlando’s and Johns corroboration on this book. The characters are interesting flawed and more loyal and connected than they want to believe. I think people will enjoy getting lost in the badlands.
What do you do when you are the chief of police and the precinct and all of your weapons are blown up, while the bad guys are trying to murder you?
This was such a fun, fast read. Anything that Orlando Sanchez and John P Logsdon is fun and this is no exception. Highly recommend
I really love this series. It’s fun getting to know the characters better-each book brings new insight to them. Love Zeke’s brother!! Hope there is more of him in the future. Just a wild ride, literally, dodging Accountants and other assorted mayhem inducers. Badland PPD needs weapons, and it’s a process.
Just what I needed! A fun book to read and I am really enjoying getting to know Zeke and his Team better.
There are too many funny parts to this story to detail (and I don’t want to spoil your fun), but I think that my favorite part is The Accountants. They are just hysterical. I mean, who can say “Accountants closing in” with a straight face?
And the Gauntlet is genius!
I can’t wait for the next installment.
amazing read from start to finish the pacing is amazing the banter between that characters is spot on eagerly awaiting the next one
