White witch Jade Calhoun is seven months pregnant. All she wants to do is sink into domestic bliss while enjoying planning wedding and baby showers. But when a new acquaintance is arrested by the Witches Council and then mysteriously disappears, Jade is pulled into the thick of things. Forced by the Witches Council to track down the missing woman, Jade finds herself once again dealing with … dragons.
It should be a piece of cake, right? All she needs to do is track down the woman who escaped the Council, stop the dragons from awakening and taking over the city, and still find time to celebrate life’s milestones… all while in her third trimester.

Dragons of Bourbon Street is the ninth entertaining installment in A Jade Calhoun series. All our regular cast of characters are back plus we get introduced to Flame, Elijah and his familiar Trevor, and Harper Spelling and her cousins. Even Ida May makes an appearance. The Witches Council seems determined to mess with Jade even though she is seven months pregnant. Of course, they fail to understand the needs of someone in her condition which includes access to a bathroom and plenty of food (crackers do not count). Deanna Chase has a distinctive writing style (I mean this in a good way). Her casual writing style drew me into the story along with her quirky characters and laugh-out-loud moments. The mystery is full of twists with illusions, a Cajun familiar breeder, and someone deadly (and mentally challenged) running the show. Jade has a great group of friends with unique abilities that she can count on to help her with challenging situations. The take down is one-of-a-kind and jaw dropping. At the end, Jade and Kane’s daughter makes an appearance and Kat has a very special wedding day. I suggest reading A Jade Calhoun series in order. The books build upon each other as the character defeat foes, form bonds and develop as individuals. It is even advisable to have read A Pyper Raine series (they work together). I do want to let you know that there is foul language and intimate scenes. One of my favorite lines is from Jade “my insides felt like they were being ripped right out of me.” I felt that was a very accurate description of labor. Dragons of Bourbon Street is a delightful paranormal mystery/romance with dragons, an evil adversary, a tenacious Witches Council, a ghost dog, good friends, a wedding, plus a cuddly fire breathing puppy and other interesting familiars. You do not want to miss out on this fast paced, action packed and humorous tale.
Audiobook review- Entertaining story filled with mystery and mayhem. Jade and team once again are dragged into dragon and coven business. The narrator did a fantastic job. I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Jeez, poor Jade can’t seem to ever catch a break…and that is why we love her life so much, we don’t have to live it. We can see the humor in the crazy from afar and that makes this series one of my all time favorite reads. Jade and her crew are like the pals you hang out at the bar to hear all their crazy stories. This time mixed in with the potentially returning Dragons, Jade is pregger, like way preggers. This installment had all the things I’ve come to love from this author and this group of characters…Now to just get my hands on the next book!
I have just finished this last book available in the Jade Calhoun series, didn’t read anything else until I have gotten through the entire series of 9 books. Love the characters, the stories, supernatural twists throughout Deanna Chase’s series, plan to purchase, read the rest of the Deanna Chase’s Pyper Rayne series and have already bought her Witches of Keating Hollow series. Super entertaining stories, characters so plan to get “lost” in each book, upon finishing that book you’ll be wanting more.
I have read this whole series and I find it amazing that each book just keeps getting better and better!
Jade is 7 months pregnant and we find that Crescent City is in the middle of another mystery!
Jade has to be in the middle of this mystery and of course there is an evil witch that likes to use illusions on people….but he has a ulterior motive. Dragons! Yes I said dragons.
Jade while trying to solve this mystery also is trying to plan Kat’s wedding shower and bachelorette party….
Pyper and Jade are right in the thick of the mystery…will they solve this one? Release date is April 16th…trust me on this and pick up the whole series if you haven’t yet…
Highly recommend all of Deanna’s books
My year just hit new book happiness high, Jade Calhoun is back for another exciting New Orleans supernatural adventure.
Jade, Kane, Pyper, Bea, Lucien, and Kat are back for more fun, laughs, magic and trouble in New Orleans.
Jade is 7 months pregnant and more than ready to meet her daughter, she is also a little bored and grumpy…lol Kat and Pyper are planning their weddings and something is amiss when Jade and Pyper visit an adult specialty store to make fun purchases for Kat’s bachelorette party, the witches council take a young woman in for questioning, leaving her little dog alone, Jade and Pyper step in the help and yes you guessed it they both end up being taken in by the witches council as well…lol trouble just has a way of finding and sticking to Jade.
Now Jade and Pyper need to find out what is happening, young women are going missing, how does the dog tie in and all while making sure Jade doesn’t go into premature labor!!! Fun I tell you…lol a very fun adventure.
This book is so much fun! Jade is getting ready to pop with her baby, but that doesn’t stop her from getting involved with another mystery. The Council just won’t seem to leave her alone, but Jade and Pyper want to do what’s best. I love all the characters in these series, and we get introduced to Flame, Trevor, Liam, and Harper, plus a couple more, who are wonderful additions to the cast and crew. From the beginning to the end, I was taken away with the action and fun, and we also get to see the preparations for Kat’s festivities. I can’t wait to see Pyper’s book to see them all again. If you love fun paranormal mysteries/romance, give this a try! I highly recommend this book! I was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.
