If she can’t trust them, she’ll kill them.Vita:Jealous lies got me thrust out of Heaven, banished to live out my days on Earth. Being surrounded by demons and Incorrupti Knights were the least of my worries. When three Other Natured crossed my path with stories about a sanctuary that needed our help, I knew I was here for a reason. Fallen or not, no Angel could turn their back on helping to … Angel could turn their back on helping to protecting the innocent.
But the last thing I expected when I arrived was a badly injured Dragon awaiting my arrival and insistent on speaking with me. By name. Curiosity brought me to him, and the instant attraction that sizzled between us wouldn’t let me leave.
He is a dominant, mysterious, commanding stranger and I can’t help but want to share his secrets… and make some of our own.

I love this story already and this is just a taste of what’s to come…..
Angel Guard Vita is cast from the heavens, unjustly so, but so is the way of things and now she is a Fallen. Not long after she meets up with an unlikely friend and 2 other Fallen at which point they travel to a safe haven for all that wish it against the humans that wish to eradicate all that has magick.
Vita discovers just a day after being there that maybe the Goddess has other plans for her, ones that seem greater than killing vampires and an unconscious dragon man that knows her better than she knows herself.
This book by Eve Laird was a super start to her House of Quercus series as it was a most enjoyable and quick read and I definitely look forward to reading the rest of her series whenever possible. The writing was clear and precise, almost detached, yet still let the reader identify with the characters and their trials and tribulations as they all struggle to stay alive in a world where they are wanted and hunted to death. Eve Laird’s Dragon’s Oath, the first in her House of Quercus series, is s superbly written wild ride of a paranormal and urban fantasy romance mashup. Angels who lie and betray, fallen angel who is noble, vampires and dragons and do much more, this book really has everything. With a wonderful lead in Vita (the betrayed angel) and a fantastic cast supporting her – especially Drake her fated mate, a time shifting dragon shifter (yes, it cool even writing that) – this is a grand start to a new series. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises – the book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.
I was drawn from the start and the keeps you flying through the pages non stop with shocking twist is balanced out.
She was thrown out due to jealous lives and she wants back in. She may have been wronged but she still looks out for the innocent ones and she will help them. Then she meets an injured Dragon who needs help. Their lives are going to get very interesting. See what will happen to them all

There are so many questions buzzing in my head that can’t wait to be answered. Drake is Vita’s fated mate. A dragon shifter able to time shift and holding the cryptic answers to what is happening. This is an excellent start to a very promising series. And I most certainly have not forgotten about Vita’s earlier companions and their roles in the scheme of things. Can’t wait for the next book!

I really enjoyed this story, the characters were well written and the plot moved really well. I found myself sucked into the story right from the beginning
I’m an avid reader of the paranormal genre and this book was the definition of a hot mess. The dialogue was stiff and sounded forced not coming across in dated fashion the author intended. A lot of the world building was based solely on the hunt for “others”, but the references made were confusing and the situation didn’t feel well crafted. There is a lot of potential for the story line perhaps, but I don’t feel this came across the way it should’ve.
