Rowan hasn’t made a dent in coming to terms with her black-to-his bones dragon father when she gets pregnant. The dragon-child isn’t even here yet, but everyone’s already fighting over his future. The third (and last) book in a magic-laced, fast-paced, fantasy trilogy. With dragons.I’m being pulled nine ways at once. Brand new mating. Brand new pregnancy. Stronger magic than I’m used to. The Nine … than I’m used to. The Nine Worlds are failing. Rot that began on Earth has spread to Vanaheim. Odin knows more than he’s telling us, and no one has any interest in working together.
The only thing everybody has in common is a sudden, weird fascination with my baby. The dragons want him raised on Fire Mountain. The Celts want us in Inverlochy Castle with them. Hel hasn’t weighed in, but I bet she’d like to see her grandson in Niflheim where she can dandle him on her knees every day.
If it weren’t for the catastrophe looming over our heads, Bjorn and I would escape to a distant borderworld and never look back. It’s always an option. Good to preserve as many of those as possible.
Keep your fingers crossed for me. And my son. See you on the other side.

Oh my! I had no idea how this book was going to wrap up all the loose ends that were dangling. The rot in Yggdrasil’s roots, the evil that keep erupting from the gashes in the earth, the dead that escaped from both Arawn and Hel. I could go on and on, but if you’ve read the previous books, you know. Plus Rowan and Bjorn have just barely adapted to being together and now the Celtic and Norse gods want to “protect” their son and the dragons think they should. I would love to think of Bjorn as my book boyfriend, but I liked Rowan so much I have a hard time picturing it. She is just not the sharing type. They are so wonderful together! They have such a connection that they know what the other is thinking. This is so good I just don’t even know how to express my emotions. I requested an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.
Stepping into this world again has me giddy and happy to be here. This one also had me staying close to it thanks to the bundle that was to come Rowan’s way. Along with it comes many levels of drama that at times has you scratching your head and other times going oh wow. Being this is the end of it we also will get some presents with gift wrap all tied up. Bjorn and Rowan just have us eating out of their palms. A picture of a true mate is surely shown with them. The author has given us everything we need in this one to bring it to a close sadly.
Say it isn’t so, this great world-building series cannot end here. From book one all the way to three, we’ve had some outstanding adventures with our two heroes. We’ve met Gods, witches, dragons, giants, and much more; things that go bump not only in the night but in the day time too. We’ve met terrible evil and great good. In this book, we have some terrific surprises i.e. baby dragon (or is it) evil by the Gods themselves, our heroes discovery unknown heritage, and among this and more, we have humans who learn they are a lot more than meets the eye. Yep, this book is jam-packed with excitement. I recommend not only this book but the entire series to all those who love epic adventures whose heroes are magnificent, honorable, snarky, strong and loving; opposite of all the evildoers. Get it, read it, review it.
Rowan has recently helped kill her black-hearted dragon father. She’s newly mated & pregnant. To top it all off, everyone is fighting over the future of her unborn child/dragon hatchling. As things in her & Bjorn’s lives start to go from bad to worse, her pregnancy goes from virtually just happening to going in to labor within a matter of days. And, to top it off, her son is a key to winning the upcoming battle to heal the Breaking & defeat Loki.
This is a great story & ending to this series. I’ve loved all the characters from page 1 of the first book. This one was a bit harder for me to fully get in to & I did stop for almost 2 weeks in the middle of reading. This was the reason for me ranking it at a 4. When I picked it back up, I had it finished in no time. Ann has another home run with these characters. They are very well-planned, thought out & well written. The world building is astronomical, and the blending of both Celtic & Norse characters make this an extremely unique series since they have no love for each other.
Newly mated and now pregnant Rowan and Bjorn have so much on their plates. They really don’t need all the extended family trying to dictate how and where they raise their child. I really loved this series and this book cleared up so much for me. I can’t say a lot because I don’t want to spoil anything. I just love Rowan and how much she has evolved since book one.
