Arawn, Duke Tiamat, absolutely, positively, definitely isn’t falling into a mating fever, and that’s the problem. A year ago, Arawn met the most bewitching woman, Willow Sage, and they hit it off. Within six months, they’d moved in together. And six months after that, Arawn still was showing no signs of mating fever. He didn’t tell her he was a dragon shifter, of course. Natural people have such … people have such strong reactions to learning about the hidden supernatural world, so supernatural people don’t admit anything unless they’re engaged.
And they weren’t engaged because, obviously, Willow wasn’t Arawn’s fated mate.
So, on the advice of everyone, Arawn broke it off and broke both their hearts. His fated mate was waiting for him somewhere, and when she walked into his life, he would be helpless to resist the mating fever anyway.
But now, Arawn has been blackmailed into returning to Las Vegas to take over the soft opening of the Dragon’s Den Casino. When he walks into the Human Resources division to meet the new witch who’s going to take care of the sickly sea serpents in the fountain out in front of the casino, it’s Willow Sage.
Willow Sage, the love of his life but not his fated mate, and she’s a witch.
They try to work together to care for the sickly serpents, but their attraction and lingering love is just too strong. Within hours, he wants to spend time with her. Within weeks, he’s hopelessly in love with her again.
But he isn’t falling into mating fever.

I’m enjoying this series for the entertainment value. There is a lot of tongue in cheek humor, and I found myself looking forward to discovering what Arawn and Willow would do next to try to bring on his mating fever as both of them fear his true mate might show up at any time and break both their hearts. The serpents in the fountain situation is a great running gag. And I loved how protective Arawn was for Willow. I have to agree that I’m missing some of the dragon culture insight and would have liked more of an explanation. But I have to say the one I’m looking forward to the most is the next book. There’s nothing more fun than when a playboy is blindsided by the truth, and I think Kai’s book will be the most entertaining.
I really loved Arawn and Willow’s love story. There’s is a second chance romance. Without giving too much away their breakup had nothing to do with them not loving each other. I really enjoyed how the two forge their own path to love and being dated mates. The sea monsters, blue fire, and other paranormal touches were all a lot of fun. My only complaint was that Willow’s step father wasn’t punished more. This novel like all of Blair’s novels was really well written. There is not as much steam and sex as her Billionaires series, but I still felt the heat level fit the story. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.
4.5 stars
I recommend reading the previous book (Dragons & Magic) before reading this story, you’ll see where the sea serpents come from.
Second chance romance is one of my least favorite tropes, but this one was so well done I really enjoyed it. I don’t want to spoil the story, but I will say I really liked how the fated mates versus free choice were handled in the story (it was very unique within a fated mate trope). Arawn was a good complement to Willow, he believed in her even when things weren’t going as planned. I liked the interaction between Willow and Arawn’s dragon, the dragon certainly brought its own drama to the story. I thought the story was a good mix of humor with the drama of the story, it made for a nice pacing.
I really enjoyed reading this adorable & charming second-chance dragon/witch romance, it is somewhat different to the normal dragon shifter romances but I promise you that it is definitely worth reading. It is the second book in the series “Dragon’s Den Casino” & it has an interesting well-written, humorous plot with good scene descriptions. There are some character crossovers but this book can be read as a standalone. The characters are well-developed & are realistically emotional flawed. They are inclined to be confrontational and/or inept at times.
There is: a male dragon shifter (Duke Tiamat) decided to walk away from a young female witch (Willow) because she was not his mate now circumstance have put them together & the unexpected happens, dragon shifters, a mage & dragon-mate (King Llywelyn) & his dragon shifter mate (Queen Bronwyn), witches, sickly sea serpents, friendship, family issues, magic, drama, intrigue some twists, humor, memories, attempted apologies, distrust, longings, disagreements, denial, fantasies, decisions, potions, verbal conflict, realization, acceptance, bonding, some steamy scenes, contentment, love & a well-deserved, satisfying conclusion for this couple. There is a tantalizing glimpse of what could be a forthcoming book in this series. I would recommend this book to people who enjoy reading this genre.
A hilarious second chance PNR romance. Dragons and Mayhem picks up right where Dragons and Magic leaves off. Next in charge of the Dragon’s Den casino project is dragon shifter Arawn Tiamat, a by the book, precision-type personality, big on security measures. And a witch Willow Sage who is anxious to land any job to keep from returning home. And a whole bunch of farting sea serpents to deal with before the soft opening!!
Having broken up months ago without any explanation from the dragon, Willow runs into Arawn in the casino HR office. They both end up there with respect to the position to deal with some sick sea serpents ASAP. When they were dating the first time, neither revealed their supernatural selves to the other, nor many personal details. It’s like they’ve just met a new but familiar person and Arawn is quick to fall in love with Willow again. With a desire to bewitch himself a mate, in hopes that it’s Willow, Arawn asks the potion witch to look into potions for him while researching the potions for the sea serpents.
What happens when ex-lovers are thrown together on the job? Is there a happy ever after in Arawn and Willow’s second chance together? Can Arawn overcome his destined fated mate to be with Willow?
I received an advance copy for a voluntary and honest review.
Another great and imaginative read in the Dragon ‘s Den Casino series. This is book 2 , but can be read as a standalone, but I believe more enjoyable if read after book 1. Arawn and Willow have a history, but there is a big issue of a possible dragonmate showing up and potential heartbreak. I love the characterization of Arawn and his stoic, kind of brooding personality. He really is just very analytical unless he’s in the bedroom and he burns it up! Poor Willow has the same problem as her fellow best friends and witches, she’s has issues with her magic. You can tell how much these two love each other and absolutely want the best for the other without too much pain. Again, the descriptions are amazing and I loved the sea serpents so much! I think because the author injects such personality in them they are hard not to love. Amazing read! Humorous, hot, romantic, with great characters in a great world!
I didn’t know if I would adore Willow and Awran as much as I did Bethany and Math, but I definitely do! I was worried about the whole fated thing. I still am. I hate to say this, but this author has one devious mind. I’m afraid she may not be done with our Willow and Awran. Oh and I am so looking forward to shifter Valentine! A Phoenix huh? Awesome!! Fans of well written books better one click this book! You won’t be sorry. I promise!!
This book is scorching hot and will burn your Kindle up. I could not put this down when I started. You will laugh and cry at the antics of this couple. What is so amazing is how they do not realize the significance of each one coming to the casino. I cannot wait to see what is going to happen next in this series!
If you are looking for a book that has romance
and makes you laugh at times than this is definitely
for you.
This is the second book in this series and know kidding
Each book grabs your attention and keeps it.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
We met Arawn back in the first book briefly. He is good friends with Cai and Mathonwy. Arawn is down in the dumps after leaving the love of his life because his dragon hasn’t caught the fever? Or has it? Or perhaps his dragon is just ticked off because he is called The Dark Other?
Well, Arawn is about to have his world turned upside down when none other than his ex is also working at the casino.
I loved Willow she is so spunky and filled with so much love for this arrogant dragon.
I have to say I think I fell in love a bit more with their story. It gave just the right amounts of love, action, and comedy…
You could likely read these books out of order but I would highly recommend grabbing the first one so you know who is who as some from book one make an appearance in book two. A fantastic story can’t wait for the next one.
LOL funny and sexy; this one’s really a winner!
I don’t read a lot of romantic comedy these days and I’m not really sure why because I do enjoy it. Dragons and Mayhem is one of the best ones I can remember reading in a long time.
I liked book one, Dragons and Magic, but I absolutely loved book two, Dragons and Mayhem. The first couple of chapters runs parallel to book one but we’re seeing it from Arawn’s POV. You don’t really need to read Dragons and Magic to enjoy this story but I think it might enhance your experience and it is a good book.
Arawn isn’t happy with how much control his dragon has over him. He’s been in love with Willow for a while but his dragon isn’t so there’s been no mating fever. Because dragons must find their fated mate he was forced to walk away from her. When they meet up again after many months apart, he’s still in love with her but also resigned to the fact that he can never have her.
Willow has been hired by the Dragon’s Den Casino to care for sea serpents living in the fountains in front of the casino and will need to interact with Arawn frequently. She still loves Arawn but doesn’t think she can go through the pain of losing him again. Working with him is going to be difficult for her.
There’s no way I can convey, in this review, how funny and sexy this story is. A quick example is a thought that Willow has after conjuring up clothes for Arawn that will expire at midnight: *A swinging dong might not even be remarked upon in some of the places Willow has gone in Paris.* You really need to read it in context to get the full impact of the humor but this is only one example; there are many other laugh-out-loud places.
If you’ve read any books by Blair Babylon, you know that they are also really sexy and hot. Have no fear, Dragons and Mayhem may be funny but it is also sexy hot! Wait until you read what dragon venom does for Willow – HOT!
Dragons and Mayhem doesn’t have a cliffhanger but the last chapter sets up the next story about Cai and Ember and I can’t wait to read it!
A Review of Dragons & Mayhem – Dragon’s Den Casino #2 by Blair Babylon
Arawn and Willow – 5 Stars
I was waiting patiently for this book to come out as we got a sneak peek of it at the end of the first book in the series. We know there is at least one more book in the series and I keep changing my mind on who I think will be the new king. You definitely want to pick this one up as soon as you can.

Dragons & Mayhem is the second book in this hilariously funny paranormal romance. Aaron and Willow are past lovers, but as natural. When Willow is hired to take care of the sick sea serpents dying in the casino fountain and the truth comes out, sparks fly! But will the mating fever ever hit Arawn? Or is he destined to break Willie’s heart again?
This book will have you laughing from the get go, and searching for a dragon shifter of your own!
I read an ARC of Dragons & Mayhem, absolute lived it, and left this honest review.
Second in this fun series. So far this is my favorite. The story is a star-crossed lover type, but with a bite of dragon. As the main characters try to find their way though magic, tradition and fate, the reader falls for their mishaps and cheers for the resolution of their problem. Fun, steam and feel good HEA abound. Don’t miss this one.
A 4.5 Star Read Packed Full Of Emotion & Whit!!
Duke Arawn Tiamat is in love but the woman isn’t his fated mate. So 6 months ago he had to walk away from her & broke both of their hearts in the process. It was the kindest thing to do in the long run but it hurts SO much still!! Under protest he goes back to Las Vegas to oversee the Casino for a month. Math, one of his bestfriends, is going on his honeymoon!!
Six months ago Willow had her heart shredded when the love of her life, without much explanation, walked away from her & moved to Los Angeles!! She’s now broke, on the verge of eviction & out of work. Thankfully one of her besties, Bethany, has a job for her at her new Dragon Mate’s Casino. It’s not long term, just while they’re away on their month long honeymoon, but it’s just what she needs – if her magic doesn’t mess up
Although this book is full of whit & giggles it also had plenty of other feels From the brutality of bullying to dissociation with their inner self, this one tugged on my heart strings hard!! Arawn’s desperation & fear of finding his ‘real’ fated mate was so gut wrenching. Poppy has written a multi layered, emotive read for book #2 and I loved it!! The hilarious goings on in the fountain were a brilliant counterbalance
Cai’s (down)fall in book #3, from the glimpse we’re given, looks like it’s going to be epic!
