It was wonderful, just like all her books.
I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as I did Outlander but I still really enjoyed it. It’s a bit heavier on the political intrigue and I just wanted a tad bit more action… also it’s SAD. But I love Jamie and Claire and I can’t wait to continue with their story.
The engaging story of Clare and Jamie continues in this awesome historical adventure/romance, superb writing, a smoothly running, action packed storyline, characters that “pop” off the page and a narrative that stirs the imagination, all help to make this a masterful novel. The storyline is full of intense action, danger, suspense, tender moments …
This is one of my least favorite in the series because I find most of it painfully slow. However, it is crucial to the story so you definitely need to stick with it! The second half of the book is much better than the first half.
From my favorite book series. This is a continuation of Outlander, a story about Claire Randall who travels from 1946 to 1743 via standing stones in Scotland. It’s addictive.
Love it
I read all of the series. The sex scenes are too long and drawn out in my opinion. But the plots are fantastic.
The best historical fiction series Ever! I have read All the books in her series several times over! Diana Gabaldon’s writing surpasses other authors! Keeping to the real events of history she weaves a story that you don’t want to end ! I highly recommend, though it is best to read the serìes in their sequence starting with “Outlander”
Best book series I have read in a long time!!!!!!
What can you say that hasn’t already been said about Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander books? They are, of course, memorable, powerful stories that touch your heart and leave you longing for more. I can’t imagine the research that goes into her books along with her strong character building. This story offers an informative glimpse of life in the late …
Loved this second book in the series. Just great escapism entertainment.
Excellent! I love this series!
Part of the Outlander series – nothing more to say
I have read and loved everyone of these. She is an amazing writer who knows how to keep your attention! Note that I do not like books that are not part of this series especially the Lord John ones which I could never get into.
Forth time reading this
Best Highlander series I have read. Jamie is intelligent & clever. Claire loves him. Who wouldn’t. He is an excellent Lord. He loves & Cares for his people. Thinking of his people even when he can’t be there. They love him & are loyal. They “Follow the Thin Blue Line” in Battle, & even when their Clan Chief is a captive prisoner.
Very, very seldom do I give any book a 5 star rating but Diana Gabaldon’s books deserve the highest rating possible. I have hard copies of the series bought long before I acquired my kindle and I can’t wait for the next. I’m sure almost every fiction book reader knows the storyline already so I will just say that I enjoyed the books enormously, …
I’ve read the entire collection because I couldn’t wait. I’m 84 years old and this was the best collection I’ve ever come across. Wanted to purchase the collection but alas….too expensive, but I will rembember the characters ——the good and the bad. Hate to say it but the Starz was not the books. Loved it.
Diana Gabaldon is a master. I was constantly pulled back in to this book. I couldn’t wait to get back to it to see what was happening to Jaimie and Clare.
