In another high action installment of the Dragon Tide series, Seleska is racing against time. She has people she can trust, but Artura and her manticores aren’t above cheating and violence. Seleska is also struggling with her baby dragon growing up and learning to fly and maybe not needing her as much anymore. And maybe Heron doesn’t either? I guess it’s a lot to ask of a teenager to grow up a bit just like those around her, but I do keep hoping she will. There are more deaths and narrow escapes. It’s starting to feel like a blur of adventure, but I do want to see how it all turns out.
I received a free copy of the audiobook and have reviewed it willingly.
Excellent! Frantic flight, new allies, vows, prophecies fulfilled, loss, secrets and keys. Fabulous continuation of the story, I look forward to the rest of the story.
Waves Of Destiny is Book 5 in the Dragon Tide series by Sarah K.L. Wilson. It is a superbly written tale of dragons, magic, suspense, romance, growth, death, and heartbreaking sadness. The characters are well developed; Seleska (at times annoying – needs to grow up), Nasataa (baby dragon), Heron and Hubric are fleeing from Atura and the mantigores who want Seleska and Nasataa dead. While on the run, Nasataa takes to the air for the first time surprising everybody. This is a fast paced thrill ride that kept me turning pages until the end. Warning, you will need a box of tissues for this one. I highly recommend this book and series. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
This story just gets better and better. Seleska, her baby dragon, Heron and his dragon are on their way to the Dominion to start and find the keys they require. Unfortunately, so are Atura and her disguised manticores also looking for the keys. Who will get there first is unknown. Who will help them, if anyone, is also unknown. If they don’t succeed all the sacrifice that came before will be for nothing.
Waves of Destiny is book five in the Dragon Tide series and it is not only the best book so far it is heartbreaking too. Please read these books in order as they are a continuous series.
World build is super cool with new beast and monsters. New characters have been introduced and they are growing just in this first book in the series. Sarah K.L. Wilson has done a great work in this first of a new series.
A fantastic read. That is fast paced, action packed and a heart pounding adrenaline rush. An epic read with twists and turns that is a real page turner. The Author has brought forth to fruition a fantastic epic read that I definitely recommend.

Dragon Tide: Waves of Destiny is book five in Sarah K.L. Wilson’s Dragon Tide series. This series ties into her other dragon series, and this story is tinged with tragedy and loss. Seleska, Heron, Nasataa, and Hubric are on the run. If you’re familiar with these characters by this point then that is nothing new. Atura has led the manticores to the dragons, and there are traitors in their midst as well. Now, the race is on to acquire the keys needed in order to save the world, the dragons, and magic from disappearing or falling into the wrong hands.
I love how these stories just come and blend together to create such a tapestry of storylines coming together and creating some unique and engaging. Seleska is seeing first hand that danger goes hand in hand with adventure. She’s made some foolish decisions – some by accident and others of her own doing, and the consequences are coming back to deal her blows of loss and tragedy. This story is longer than the last, but since this is a fast-paced series it ends quickly and with a high tension moment. I love reading about Nasataa’s growth and development. I just wish that I could see more growth and development from Seleska as well.
I truly enjoy these stories, but I’m ready for Seleska to…in essence…grow up. In the beginning, when she was doing her big mischevious smiles, big eyes, etc to win her way with individuals it was charming, fun, and even humorous. Now…I hate to say it but…it’s getting annoying. She needs to understand that that’s not always going to work for her. She does get a bit of a reality check concerning her ego in a couple of moments, but she needs to grasp the fact more that this is a serious situation and she needs to mature.
All in all, I am rating this book 4.5 out of 5 stars. This story is engaging, I’m enjoying the developing romance between Seleska and Heron. I’m loving seeing Nasataa’s growth and I’m eager to read about the challenges that are ahead for them all. Grab the tissues for this one, because it will tug at your heart.
I just re-read Sarah K. L. Wilson’s Dragon Tide series in advance of reading Dragon Tide 5: Waves of Destiny. Since I apparently didn’t post a review on the third and fourth Dragontide books, Desperate Flight (Book 3) and Bubbles of Hope (Book 4), I thought it best to do a single review as, frankly, these books are uniformly (and totally) wonderful and I pretty much have the same thing to say about both. Quite simply, each of these books is superb. Well written, with a great plot in each book and fantastic overarching story arc, as well as a perfect cast from Seleska, her dragon baby Nasataa, on down, and perfect world-building. Also totally fun. I’ve always loved dragons and this author’s series on them captures that wonder and displays it in its glory. Exactly what I look for and easily worth five stars.
Seleska and her group of friends are flying to escape Atura and her group. Along the way they receive some unexpected help and Nasataa even learns to fly. Such a great book, even though I cried. So many unexpected tears. I can’t wait for the next book in this series.
