Waking up in a strange place under guard by dragons, Seleska must once again decide who to trust. Is she being protected or imprisoned? And why is there another girl also claiming her dragon is the chosen one? There are more twists, more dangerous situations, and more excitement as the saga continues.
I received a free audiobook from the author and have reviewed it willingly.
Wow! Gravely injured to being judged by dragons. Nonstop action and twists. Love meeting new old characters! The mission is set, let the adventure continue.
The traitor
Seleska is so determined to always do her best. Nasataa is growing and mind talking. The characters are wonderful. They are maturing and changing. The story flows well. There is a lot of action. It is great to see some characters from other series by the same author join the group. Trust must be earned and some jump to conclusions. The blues come to Seleska and Nasataa’s rescue. There are some sad parts and some humorous parts. This is another great book in the series. I can’t wait to read the next one. These are all short stories and easily read in a day or two.
Bubbles of Hope continues the Dragon Tide Series. Seleska is desperately injured whilst fighting to protect her baby Dragon. This episode is much better than the previous one. New and old characters add much needed depth and history and tie in beautifully to previous series. I seriously recommend these books are written in order.
As always from this author, this story is engrossing and exciting. Seleska is injured and probably dying, so Heron forced the guards who were at the entry to the dragon lands to take her and heal her. He was then arrested and confined and Seleska was taken to be healed. Later she finds that she is not the only one claiming to be the guardian of the Chosen One. There was someone else with a baby dragon claiming that she had the Chosen One. Trials were taking place and Seleska finds she has allies in strange forms.
Dragon Tide: Bubbles of Hope is book four in Sarah K.L. Wilson’s series and this book takes readers deeper into the danger that lies ahead of Seleska, Nasataa, and Heron. The author ended the last book on a bit of a cliffhanger but does a wonderful job picking up where that book left off and continuing forward. This book has twists, surprises and full of danger.
I immediately dived into this book and quickly got lost in the world. The last book ended with Seleska seriously injured and Heron scrambling to get her help. Of course, with them basically underground/underwater I was curious as to how they were even going to find help, but they do and quickly. Too bad Heron takes things into his own hands…and gets a bit…aggressive. I was practically elated to be introduced to some unique new characters. I loved their backstory and honestly wish, like Seleska, that we could see their faces. Of course, you can imagine my surprise when I learn that quite a bit is going on while Seleska was recovering. I was practically on the edge of my seat for the second half of this story.
There isn’t anything that I don’t like about this book. There are a couple of “hiccups” with identifying the correct creature near the end. The author says “manticore” when it should have been “dragon.” Other than that…I’m disappointed in the “blind faith” these new people put in a lie, but I get it. It’s easier to believe the loudest voice that speaks first than to actually finish going through the tests. I honestly can’t wait to read what happens next.
I am rating this story 5 out of 5 stars. Now, I do think that this one is shorter than the others…or I just devoured it in a blink, but it is really good, so just be forewarned. I love reading the development of Nasataa and the developing bond between him and Seleska. I can’t wait to read what happens next. If you are enjoying the series so far then grab this addition and get to reading!
I just re-read Sarah K. L. Wilson’s Dragon Tide series in advance of reading Dragon Tide 5: Waves of Destiny. Since I apparently didn’t post a review on the third and fourth Dragontide books, Desperate Flight (Book 3) and Bubbles of Hope (Book 4), I thought it best to do a single review as, frankly, these books are uniformly (and totally) wonderful and I pretty much have the same thing to say about both. Quite simply, each of these books is superb. Well written, with a great plot in each book and fantastic overarching story arc, as well as a perfect cast from Seleska, her dragon baby Nasataa, on down, and perfect world-building. Also totally fun. I’ve always loved dragons and this author’s series on them captures that wonder and displays it in its glory. Exactly what I look for and easily worth five stars.
Seleska is hurt badly and Heron is determined to get her help. Things move pretty quickly, once she is healed. I really enjoyed learning about Taoslil and really hope to see more of him. There are visitors from the Dominion as well. I can’t wait to see what come next, and where they are heading now.
